University Challenge Christmas 2019, Episode 4. Liverpool v Hull. Original air date: 12/26/2019. Copyright owned and viewing generously tolerated on this platform by ITV Studios/BBC.
I don't have any dog in this fight, being American, but I wanted Hull to win for two reasons: 1) Lucy Beaumont and 2) according to General Melchett, Hull is one of the great British Universities.
I just KNEW Lucy would be proper Northern and say "tara" at the end...
Well pointed out - would have missed that (28:00) if it weren't for you :)
The lady must like a lie in choosing the nearest Uni..
the Liverpool panel is the best-dressed I've seen in a long time
Jeremy Paxman looks as though he thoroughly enjoys this . A good video. More please.
Many thanks DoP! It was nice to see Paxman put on the spot for a change!
University Challenge - Christmas 2019, Episode 4 - Liverpool v Hull. 15.3924. And they're all clamouring to gain a thrombosis....let's hope they all get none.
Excellent! Five in a row, the perfect binge watch on a hot day (42 degrees or 108) here in Oz. Murky buckets, mate! 🐨🌷
Paxman's hair looks very soft and shiny here. Must have some new conditioner.
"Lucy Beaumont is in this, should be a laugh and I'll able to actually answer some of these..." Not a chance!! 😩
....😁
I miss the Christmas train, though the pudding doesn't look bad.
This isn’t anything like cats does countdown
Course not its University Challenge, a totally different show.
Quiz starts 5:30
Thursday 26th December 2019
Lucy Beaumont is beautiful and clever as evinced by marrying Jon Richardson.
Is that you Jon?
Such a great show - MTR 😎
Boris Becker wasn't the first German born winner of Wimbledon tho ,that was John McEnroe btw
The question asked for the first German, not German born. Being born in Germany does not qualify you for citizenship.
Thank you for posting these.
The maths question wasn't a good one. The given answer (which was the one I would have given) is a correct answer in some contexts, but there are other contexts where it wouldn't be. "Subclass" is probably the most general answer.
the 18:42 one was perfectly fine :)
of course you mean the one at 10:04. Haven't heard of "subclass" in a mathematical context. Another acceptable answer may have been "subgroup", being a subset of a group, that retains the latter's structure.
Thank you, Dreaming! You added joy to my Christmas!
what the FUCK was that about the hurricanes
are they badly lit or is the make up department on strike?
Thank you for uploading

6 minutes before the first question...Get on with it.
These people have accomplished lives they should get to share.
Surely they could find some known celebrities?
Try the jungle thingy....

Why would anyone turn themselves into google? Still remember my maths teacher saying "you won't carry a calculator in your pocket"
@alphadawn2015 lennon that was the point ;)
My high school calculus teacher told us that if you memorise something, you might forget it but you'll always remember that it exists and know to look it up. I also think a lot of things are useful to just have in your memory because they help you see patterns or connections or recognise when someone's facts or logic are off. Of course you can look stuff up, but you still need some idea of what you should be looking up.
prixman pompously concludes by telling Liverpool that they were "Entertaining".
Well done prixman, sadly, you are not
