Tip. 3 mental.
Tip. 2 hydrate.
Tip. 1. Form and discipline.
thanks for the simplification
My coaches when teaching me Muay Thai explained that a power puncher doesn't always win. Our Boxing coach, John, explained that a good way to make a power puncher (or a Slugger to use technical term) lose his cool: Pepper him with light, fast punches; get him frustrated by how much you're hitting him and he's swinging and missing. An angered fighter is a sloppy fighter.

I agree. No flash, just facts.
Check out Fran sands too

@@TjLuther Respect to coach Fran, but he talks too much. Coach Tony shows you how while telling how. That's why he's the best boxing coach on RUclips.
Absolutely so
I am at retired age (no number given LOL) and just recovering from severe cancer with chemo, radiation, and surgery. Things went wrong and after 2 and a half months in ICU, a total of 5 months bed ridden, 2 more months having to be pushed around in a wheel chair, a couple of months with a walker, then having to use a cane, I am now at a point where I am walking and back to working out regularly. I am now starting to work out again and including my bob punching dummy (who sometime is smarter than me). Your tips on training are a great help! Even though I am still severely limited in what I can do, I try to apply this knowledge to my recovery workouts (which are still limited by the shit storm I went through) but greatly appreciated. Excellent advice and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Keep up the good work!
God bless you my guy your stronger than most champ 🤲🏼💪🏼 fuck cancer 🙌
I wish you all the best, hope you will vastly recover and come back stronger 🫶🏻 keep going!
Trust in Jesus ! He always helps us in our times of need.
Been boxing two years after starting in my late 50s and you have pretty much validated everything I been doing that was never instructed, but I had to figure out to keep up. Pacing myself by not throwing everything as hard as I can. Mixing hard punches for effect with lighter punches to setup. Making sure I breathe with my punches and taking deep breaths even if I don't feel the need between bag or sparring rounds. Hydration. Mental toughness, I tell myself I can do anything for three minutes. I do the the drudgery work so I can do the fun stuff.
Hat off to you 👊
I've been thinking about it for 30 years and have never committed, not something to start half heartedly
I do muay thai but i still find this channel very helpful love from Ireland 🇮🇪
*I agree 👍, you can also add working on the strength of the legs, which helps with stability on the ground and prevents spaghetti legs that force you to use a lot of oxygen in order to contract every organ in the body in order to maintain stability.*
Ive heard that breathing tip from a fighter pilot who said he became a fighter pilot thanks to things he learnt from boxing. Proper breathing in the ring and visualisation and positive mind set before he stepped in. Wise tips from a expert. Thanks tony
this is way
Great tips from a great bloke. Thanks Tony!
I've been boxing for about 3 months now, thanks for everything Tony, your tips are really helping me
Great vid mate, your tips help alot
Thanks Tony, great tips there !!!
Appreciate it Tony!! 🔥
Thanks for the tips, now i will try them with the missus
Nice and basic, even I can follow it :-) Thank you!
Paradoxically, in boxing, you have to be relaxed. And it's crazy, in a pro fight, with the crowd, the cameras, all that stress and pressure put on you, you have to be relaxed? A lot of people, myself included, need training to play that part properly. Stress getting into you is like fear getting into you, and you might lose the fight because of it. Boxing is not just physical, it's mental, and that's why this sport is so interesting. It's a dual where two opponents have to face real danger. Yes, a physical witness could send you to the ground, but a mental one too!
It’s a complex mix of calculations that’s for sure, managing your stamina and opponent at same time is a delicate line, the better your opponent the harder that is to generally do, biggest fear is running out of go with heavy arms isn’t it really 😂
but idta

Well I never! I didn't know that the mighty mackem was on youtube and just subscribed.
Tony, not only are you a national treasure, mate, but you put the north-east on the map!
I tried some boxing in my army days, but was lacking in fighting discipline and was too much of a headbanger. I'm ready to give it 'another crack', though.
I'm well happy to see you're still doing the boxing stuff, mate, and that having to retire from your injuries hasn't taken away your fighting spirit! 'Tis a shame you don't support the toon though 😂 rock on bonny lad! 🤟
Well this is what I needed after 4 rounds of bag work, thanks!
Great advice 👍
Love these videos Tony, thank you for sharing all this stuff!! I need a new pair of gloves so I ordered with your code, I can't wait to get them!

You do cover the mistakes well Tony, the don'ts are as important as does... great vid!!!!!!
i already subscribed before because you are actually a great coach
When i go to the gym i do light and heavy punches, however in certain points i do only hard punches with good form and as fast as i can and as get tired maintain good form at the cost of speed. But keeping as much power as possible just to push limits of my endurance while going hard and it has helped my cardio overal a lot
Thanks Jeffries
I can't get tired boxing if I don't box.
Down there for dancing squire.
Real shit
Hey Tony I'm on one of your pages where you do your videos right now I'm a bit stuck getting the rest to get working right but I got you videos up and running anyway

Love the information! I had a question regarding how to not feel so stiff or “stuck” with my movement. I’m boxing on my own at home but I feel like my legs are always in place. Any advice/videos on how to work on that?

Yo man great video as usual! Been thinking about going to the gym while also continuing my boxing training, What exercises do you recommend in the gym that can translate to my strength in boxing? Would highly appreciate it if u do a video about weight training in boxing! :D
Hey mate, check this out ruclips.net/video/vVbZiw9gFcA/видео.html
@@Tony_Jeffries Thanks man! 😁
Tony how heavy is this bag ? And how heavy a bag does other heavy weight boxers have used in the golden era like foreman and Rocky Marciano shaver Tyson please make detailed videos about it please mate 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Watching all these whilst training for my first ever charity fight. I’ve now picked up the bug 😂
Thankyou sir ❤
Love your channel. Does holding tension help defensively? In other words, is being relaxed when getting hit worse than if you're tensed up?
Thank you 🙏🏼 being relaxed but thinking about defense is the way to do it
Ive got cronic nasal polyps at the moment so mouth breathing so 3 min rounds on the bag at the moment are savage lol.
I have a deviated septum so adding a mouth piece could be shitty....But I can go 40 min boxing non stop great ass cardio from breathing out from punching.
Amazing video tony you really made me a good boxer not helped made me Thank you coach
Happy to help!
He’s got a great way about him 👏
Jeff, I am 50 yrs old and just started boxing basics. I started 2 weeks ago with mike tysons calistenics workout (starting at 5% of what he did) , treadmill 30min , and heavy bag work ( 10min sessions now up to 12min. sessions ). I can already feel my punches are stronger and im quicker and not so off balance. what footwork video of yours would you recommend to watch. and thank you for making these videos.
Hi Tony, I have question about straight right cross, I see you throw it with elbow down and turn wrist into impact but you kind of dont rotate that wrist even very much, this is good proper form how they teach it, but what I see often even in pros, boxing, kockboxing and Muay Thai, in actual fight they lift that elbow outside, lot of guys talking like you shouldnt lift that elbow outside into cross because your oponent can see it comeing, yet as I analyse pros fights, 90% of cross right are like that with elbow out, yet succesfull, its also much stronger, can you make video about this please? 🙏🏼🫡
Exhaul when punching
Should you also focus on turning your feet, with every punch?
❤
Btw Tony, I saw garuda behind on the wall
FFS it was ONIT for hydration last week !!!
oh my god, is there indonesian flag? really great to know this channel!
Marciano the Great said something extremely true : lack of cardio makes everyone a coward. Believe me … I am often a coward …
Nice to know my bad couach always screams at me when I throw those light fast shots at the punching bag.
Hello guys my nose is always stuck what i should do? If i can't breath i will be always tired.
what shoes do you wear for basic bag work. those look like normal Nike's...
That’s me on floor
Is it true that having bigger muscles makes you gas out faster?
That's why Ali was so fit , he trained under water so he didn't have to breath whilst fighting.I train at the swimming baths and even though Tony is an Olympic Champion with this one secret I could bash him up even though the rest of the day I sit on the sofa and drink beer.
Yeah I read that some training sessions, Ali would hold his breath for the entire two hour session without breathing even once
Is there something I can do about my nose bleeding? it starts easily like from 2 jabs only and it goes alot, I try not to get hit but I can't really dodge everything. I don't know what to do about it..
drink more water, try making your home more humid, use nasal sprays or moisturizer and before spar rub and move your nose around. fix your head posture in sparring and if that doesn't work then stop boxing
Are u in bali right now ?
The peekaboo style also is the reason why you lose so much energy in a fight, not everybody is Mike Tyson.
I rep the 1 2 3 so many times most every single day just so I can get it the best it could possibly be
Practice makes perfect mate, you got it 🥊
@@Tony_Jeffries thx coach! 🥊💥🔥
Any steak knifes Tony ?
How to spot a good boxer?
High rep bodyweight squats boys! Thank me later
This l will be second 🥈
I almost spat out my drink when he said "last longer during your session" I knew what he meant, but my mine went elsewhere
You forgot about eating spicy food, I made that mistake yesterday.
I can run 5 miles no problem while having an average mile pace of 6:30-7 minutes a mile, I can do all kinds of strength and conditioning no problem but for some reason I'm sparring I get tired so easily I don't know why oh and I been boxing for a couple years now
what I think may be going on is you may be too nervous and get tensed up causing you to get tired quickly. You need to keep in mind that boxing is 90% mental. You need to get used to being uncomfortable especially in sparring. The more relaxed and calm you are will allow you to think in there and fight at your best. Good luck brother!
me neva
Tony REALLY wants that viewtime ;)
Stamina comes with training. Cardio help your lungs get use to heavy breathing.
I remember this one had its copy cat version
Are you still doing BJJ? You should do a stamina video for that sport!
No at this time mate, been busy but I'll add that to my lists
It’s the same idea: pace yourself
just get more mat time so you know when to stay relaxed. when I get side control or mount I usually take 2 breaths to control for the 3 seconds to get points and then continue from there.
Exhaling when doing heavy bag its ok, but I cant exhale correctly when Im sparring cause my mouthguard will go out of my teeth, and i don't know how to avoid it
Try looking for a mouthpiece with breathing holes. They work for me
#1 Semen Retention
PURPOSE vs pleasure
interval training huts. do it.
What are the qualities of a good boxer?
They are able to knock at least 12 teeth out of their opponents mouth, six if wearing a mouth guard
Discipline, determination and an unwavering mindset set on training and technique
A hidden gun
any one notice how when he says subscribe the button starts to glow
does doing weed from a bong affect your stamina? if so, by how much?
17,72% per gram
How to fight the agrasive fighter?
Have you watched this mate? ruclips.net/video/2m64qiJVtRs/видео.html
1:19 but isn’t the best for stamina ?
Well the last example your biggest mistake was holding your breath NOT the useless combinations and if they getting stronger and fitter why they getting gassed out
Does Mike Tyson follow these advices?
1 simple stamina exercise:
1. Just Run.
Possibly in the right way, because if you do boxing running like a marathon runner is useless
@@gige8056 Just Run.
@@gige8056 No matter how fast you are. Just run, It increases stamina endurance with Cardiovascular.
You talking about long distance aren’t you buddy
Does Tony reply ?
Hey mate
