Absolutely love your videos Rob, my favourite fishing videos on YT. These venue guides are brilliant for me as I’m a long way from the Severn…..invaluable 👏👏
Another brilliant video, full of info and a beautiful setting. Keep them coming Rob, for those of us who can’t fish it weekly your videos are the next best thing 👍
Great vid, Rob. I fished the sandy peg one afternoon a couple of years ago targeting chub and dace on sweetcorn, catching a number of them, and the last fish of the session was a small barbel, my first river barbel on corn. We stay at the lodge at Millstone Cottage, further upstream. Cracking stretch of the Severn there.
Rob love your videos but a couple of points what baits were you using. Also, when you say that you are fishing one third across the river, surely you mean two thirds across the river from where you are standing. Keep up the good work 21:55
What a beautiful part of the country, & superb location! I’m really jealous of the fantastic venues I see south of Nottingham & north of it ! Generally the Trent can be very boring & only occasionally good albeit I’ve had big barbel , but would prefer your location on my door step any day ! Excellent video rob look forward to your next one.
Thank you Rob for the info and another excellent, informative and enjoyable video. May I adk where uou obtained your Korum rods, my tackle shop is cold out, and also the bait you use. Thank you.
Do you use baitrunner tech in this video? I was sold a 2lbs korum rod yesterday, but i feel its way too stiff and shouldve gone for 1.75lbs, but two segment rods are such a pain to travel with.
Sorry another comment lol,but in the he first part of the video when you were walking the bank sounded like you were wearing Clint Eastwood's cowboy boots clink clink 😅 👍
cracking videos buddy and been showing the old man them ………. i’m taking him to his favourite spot on the avon near evesham as he loved going there when my mum was alive ….. some great memories for us… just looked them baits up that you use & i’m wanting to get him some as a surprise and something different to try …… they do a frankfurter one and would you recommend this ??? he loves using old traditional baits and thought i could help him somewhat ….. all the best and you pro catching them barbel 👍😁👊🎣
Find it hard to believe that the seven didn't turn into the big barbel river the experts said it would be in the 70s/80s this was when the trent was void of any life let alone barbel.. Instead the seven has turned into the river wye but not as prolific 😢 a massive shame considering over the year's I've put alot of work n bait into it 😅 way more than most.
It was ok but the kayaker's coming past in groups every 5 mins for about 6 hrs straight kind of ruined it. Had to keep my line close to my side as they went right thru it a few times when i was fishing the middle.
STOP telling people where you are another venue that will be flooded with wannabe barbel anglers. I like your vids but no need to give locations away the banks are busy enough as it is....
The location is literally in the BAA book for all to see it's not a secret. I'm a BAA member and thank rob for the effort. As someone who travels way over an hour to get there I'm grateful for these time saving insights. The BAA book gives vague explanations at best. I've never been on any of the sections he's covered and been overrun with anglers. If anything I see one, maybe two others in 6/7 hour sessions
@brummie43 you obvs haven't fished the rivers this season every good section is rammed by 10 o'clock on a Saturday don't see the need to give such detail on locations
I know what you're saying but I would have loved someone to have put this type of info up for me years ago. I find the same problem everywhere at 10am on a Saturday, even commercials with 200 pegs. Trying to find a river location and get past all of the bits that are unclear in membership books can be a nightmare at 5.30am after a 50/60hour week😂 I try to go midweek if life allows me to. We can agree to disagree but I hope you do well in your own fishing mate and we both agree the videos are good 👍🏻
Aren't we supposed to be encouraging anglers especially young one's " it's like the cloak and dagger secrets of the 70s, and if all the pegs have gone by 10am get there earlier if they've bought there membership there just as entitled to be there as you .
@martincallaghan8817 of course they are but I had to learn all the good spots through trial and error and learn how to fish them now we have you tubers giving away all the best kept spots and giving them thorough airing for from what I see hapless anglers trying to catch barbel that they don't even no how to care for the fish they catch..fishing is for everyone I agree but you have to learn and discover your fave spots not have them handed to you by a you tube angler that knows what he's doing I still learn from tubers all I ask is don't give away locations even though there on the baa website for all to see.....
I've never fished there and I've fished the river Severn for years, and wow i wouldn't mind owning that cottage a fisherman's dream location 👍
Absolutely love your videos Rob, my favourite fishing videos on YT.

Fantastic Rob. Thanks for yet another highly informative vlog. That’s another BAA venue I’m going to visit.
Well done Rob, fantastic blog with loads of information.

Great morning session Rob and great info on that stretch of the severn.
Good angling Rob! Beautifully filmed and informative as usual! 👍

Thanks for the vlog Rob. Very informative and a great session for you👍
As always 😎 top effort Rob thanks for your efforts in filming and sharing 👍🥃
Good mornings fishing, BAA always produces decent fishing venues.
Im going to try coombys farm tommorow morning early. Hopefully some barbel. Your videos great thanks
Good luck!
Hi rob keep up the good work brilliant stuff any new videos coming cheers
New one on the channel for you to have a look at tonight 👍🎣
Rob love your videos but a couple of points what baits were you using. Also, when you say that you are fishing one third across the river, surely you mean two thirds across the river from where you are standing. Keep up the good work

It wasn't just the son who got a haircut was it 😅 👍

Great vid again Rob...looks like a lovely quiet stretch...hope your son had a nice haircut ha
Well done Rob some nice barbel there mate. Looks a nice stretch. Never fished it. Great video mate 👍
Great vid as usual. Have you fished tge downstream pegs at Coomby?I've had a bad back fished the area down from the gate but nothing
Yes but not so far this season. I prefer the downstream pegs in the colder months personally. Usually a few Barbel about 👍🎣
Another great video 👌👌
great stuff rob. thanks for sharing. regards mick.
Always brilliant vid soon formative Thanks
Cracking video as ever great fish can I ask what weight feeder are you using?
Thank you Rob for the info and another excellent, informative and enjoyable video. May I adk where uou obtained your Korum rods, my tackle shop is cold out, and also the bait you use. Thank you.
Great video Rob on my dad's water.............. just joking. Some bosting pegs and big fish on that stretch 🎣🐟👍
Fished that stretch a week at a time for the last three years and it's been rubbish. Thinking of going on the Wye or Trent next year.
Great session 👍 does your mic connect to multiple devices? Need to get one myself 👍 tight lines
Do you use baitrunner tech in this video? I was sold a 2lbs korum rod yesterday, but i feel its way too stiff and shouldve gone for 1.75lbs, but two segment rods are such a pain to travel with.
Hi, Yes I use a 2 piece Korum 1.75tc Barbel rod with a 4000 sized bait runner reel 👍
Hi Rob I've recently joined the BAA, but coombys farm doesn't seem to be in it ,is this right ?
Hi Clive, if you search for the Stanley section, that’s the stretch otherwise known as Coomby’s Farm. Good luck on the banks 🎣👍
Hi Rob thanks very much ,I'm down on the 5th for a few days .
Does it get busy in the summer?
It doesn’t get any busier than other stretches in my experience. Theres loads of pegs to go at so you’ll always have choices available. 👍🎣
@@RobsAngling thanks for the info Rob. Any suggestions on locations during the flooding? Upper looks steady but everyone fishes lower section.
Sorry another comment lol,but in the he first part of the video when you were walking the bank sounded like you were wearing Clint Eastwood's cowboy boots clink clink 😅 👍

2 minutes from my house.. I'm not really in barbel fishing, I fish the stick with hemp and will say 2.0lb roach and chub are caught
Find it hard to believe that the seven didn't turn into the big barbel river the experts said it would be in the 70s/80s this was when the trent was void of any life let alone barbel.. Fished the swim that gets fished the most 😂 pioneering stuff that buddy.. It's what 99.9% of modern carp anglers 😮 I mean barbel angler's do.
There's always one 🙄
It was ok but the kayaker's coming past in groups every 5 mins for about 6 hrs straight kind of ruined it. Had to keep my line close to my side as they went right thru it a few times when i was fishing the middle.
