Rookery is only 40min away from me yet I've not been there in years! I do remember the bait from Alex was superb - the best maggot I've seen nearby in year's.

I Joe, my two sons, a best mate and I was at Rookery waters we left the Friday you did this video. We arrived Monday and Tuesday could only fish 4 pegs on Magpie and that was it all lake booked with matches Wednesday and Thursday so was a bit of a waste of time, wish we could have fished the crow.
Yes it does get very full, definitely pays to check the day before you go.

Nice to see you on my local complex , on a match there most Sundays and ALL the lakes from now to September respond very very well to paste at 2+2 and margins , the lake you was on (crow) can fish amazing pinging 8 mls to far bank and fishing 8 mls on a straight bomb 👍

One of my local venues, a really great fishery and even better café. The only downside is that it gets very booked up with matches so pleasure anglers relay do miss out. It always amazes me how much equipment those "professional" anglers take with them. It must have taken him ages to set it all up and take down afterwards!
Joe packs away faster than most can set a chair up (although he isn’t a professional) 🤣

Don't get sucked into buying elastic Lube. Just nick some of the wife's hair conditioner, adding a small amount of water to make it a bit more runny. It's all you need to use !! (A tip I got from a tackle shop owner & indeed, a good angler himself)
Only thing I’ve found is conditioner clogs the pole up. It works nicely but definitely means you need to clean your kits every few weeks.
And J Ladd swears by conditioner, 1part conditioner to 7 parts water

What top kit are you using Joe , is it an f1 short ?
F1 kits for shallow and just normal carp kits for the edges

When i see this i just think to myself like how many match anglers are there really? for all these companies to bring out tackle like that. Atleast most fisherman i know wont have a need for most of this gear.. most anglers i know never fish for course fish.. (mostly pike/zander/perch fishing in holland). And if they do they do it with a single pole and some maggots not at some match venue.. uk fishing is just weird.
