The weight gain part is sooooo true!!😢That is what happened to me when I stopped working on my feet in the hospital now I work from home sitting on my a** all day, and I gained so much weight😞🤬
I started a month ago and Im crazy stressed. I have 45 patients to work on. Is my company over assigning us with that load? Not too familiar with this field yet still learning
Is it the same as prior authorization for an insurance company? I just started that a week ago and it’s a lot. I don’t know if it’s because I’m new or the job itself
That is what I did before, um for an insurance company and it’s hard!! They have high productivity goals and some requests take long to review. Good luck, hang in there
To better understand as the "patient" why would a case manager call you after an er visit I have severe anxiety and hypochondria I visited the er thinking I was having a heart attack and I left without being discharged because I felt stupid lol
Yes you can, however it may be difficult to get in. This job can be done in many settings it depends on your employer. Some employers allow it to be a remote job since it does not require patient interaction, good luck! 🍀
It varies, normally just one year of bedside experience (ex:MEDSURG), however I have seen employers that only require you to have an active RN license to apply.

Hi Steve! Did you start as a new grad or have previous experience?
Very true! Insurance companies, clinics, etc use UR process to some extent. Love it! 😀
THANK YOU!!!

What kind of setting are you working for as an UR nurse? Hospital? Insurance company? And what is the difference between the two?
Also, are you working as both a case manager nurse and a UR nurse?
Review nurse could be more chilled but the pay is also way less than case management positions. 🤔
What's the difference between utilization review and utilization management ?.
Great 👍 information thanks 😊
No problem, thanks for your support!
@The NURSING Channel If you've had to D/C a patient who is homeless and requires O2, how have you done it? Homeless shelter? SNF? Thanks!
Have them apply for Medi-Cal and put them in a SNF for long term care/ custodial care
Great question btw
@@SamQuintani Thank you!

Thanks for the info dude. Can someone get this kinda job as a new grad ? Do you have to be in a hospital working ?
