UNSC ships really are one of the most realistic sci-fi ships out there in fiction. I can genuinely see us having stuff like this in a few centuries (even if they are just used for inter-solar system travel)
Yeah, around reach was when you could see parts like the bridge, radar dish, radome, turrets and VLS cells in higher fidelity which is why I like halo ships, you can see all the details that make sense and the blockyness is what I love as opposed to something like star trek where everything is more advanced and kind of hidden inside the ships.
sorry my dude. most realistic ships are from the expanse. in halo there is "artificial gravity "(yikes), while ships in the expanse rely on "thrust gravity" or no gravity at all, expanse ships are orientated like a skyscraper, when under thrust "down" is the main thrusters at the bottom. Expanse ship Deck layouts are like that of a building, where halo ships are like earth wet navy ships, long ways . i do agree that the ships do look "industrial realistic" in halo where they look like they were made by a hundred system spanning human empire
@fro99er2 oh yeah for sure, the expanse is awesome, the MCRN Tachi, which is the main hero ship and gets renamed to Rocinante, interior reminds me of a navy submarine kind of because of the levels and stairs, but yeah most definetly more realistic and looks like a rocket almost.
Babylon 5 if we really want to go into this. Especially the Earth Force Star Fury. But no, all these ships really do fit into the human design philosophy.

So instead, the new ship line was rebranded a "light battleship" to imply more flexibility and speed. The "Light Battleship" designation of the Vindication-class is a euphemism for being the space equivalent of a Deutschland-class Panzerschiffe... In other words, a pocket battleship.

My favorite navy in sci-fi. I actually really like the Infinity, and I wish we got to see it in action in more good stories. It’s a crime the Spartan Ops opening is all we got of that thing in a fleet battle. We really don’t have a lot of true space battles in the games. We can see or hear about them happening in the background, but no Mass Effect 3 ending style cutscene of two fleets going at it. Imagine how the opening salvo at Earth must have looked in Halo 2
I love the idea from the start that we, as a species, will lock in our interstellar status when we refer to the moon as "Luna" seeing as almost every sci-fi property that involves a human race that developed on Earth has done so. Truly a self fulfilling prophecy
Luna is the Spanish word for Moon so a good chunk of earth population already calls it that way. We are only waiting for the people from the north, Asia, Africa, Middle East and part of EU in order to fulfill the prophecy. 😮
