    Wrong dude, if you need to be connected all the time. Nothing beats the Pro X. The Arm prosser has built-in LTE Suport. We can see in your demo that the Pro X is way better. The screen is better the sound is better. Yet you say there is no reason to buy the Pro X...

      Giddy Digs the X is limited. If you can get the Pro7 for the same price, better the 7. Besides of LTE, everything you can do in X, you can do in 7, but not the other way around.

      The advantage of ARM CPU over Intel is big. I hope they keep working on updating surface pro x applications and system overall, because the performance can get as strong as the Intel's one without fans or overheats and the battery life time is amazing. Can't wait for the day when everything will be supported natively on Surface pro x!

    Hi, so you have told us you cannot run stuff / it runs slower. Yet you did not demo anything. Can I suggest, demo edge and office that are compiled for arm64 showing the same performance and then show some other non arm apps and how they run slower? That would be a comparison worth watching, showing stuff that does work well, stuff that does not work well.

      Did You try arm64 browser and Office? That's what I'm using most, and I'd really like to see how most needed native apps work on Pro X. That's insane how that needs are talking about Photoshops etc for these tablets, and totally miss info about simple average users: Office and Browser.

    Purchased the SPX (SQ1, 8 ram, 128 ssd) for only $623US and love it.
    1. Battery life is outstanding. I get 12-13 hours of continuous RUclips viewing at 40%
    brightness / BlueTooth off / Wifi and battery saver on (SP7 gets 7-8 hours).
    2. Screen is brighter (can watch videos/read in dark room w/screen brightness at 0%)
    3. Display is bigger which helps greatly when reading/annotating documents
    4. Is thinner and easier to hold for notetaking
    5. I can run every app I need for work (Office 2019, statistical software, PDF apps, Zoom,
    Snapdrop, Nebo, etc.) w/o downloading MS' 64-bit emulator
    6. Price of the keyboard is about the same as SP7 on Amazon ($65)
    7. SP7 pen works on the SPX
    Downsides are:
    1. No USB-A port (dongle life)
    2. No Thunderbolt 3
    3. No microSD slot
    4. MS' 64-bit emulator greatly reduces battery life (so I have not downloaded it)
    5. Can't run all of Windows 35 million apps/programs (yet)

    I've been there, man. I need a full operating system (not a mobile system) for my daily use. The point is: what microsoft is trying to do is bringing full Windows x86 x64 experience on a ARM processor. It's not quite there yet, but we should hope that this can become truth soon.

    the fact that MS released pro x along side with pro 7 will hurt them. yes, each of them is aiming different audience (probably) but no matter what these two will be compared if released around the same time. =P MS should've waited a few months before releasing the pro x. now with samsung galaxy book s just around the corner with the same ARM chip i guess reviews would be relatively the same as the pro x's. Good thing i guess is that as more companies take on the ARM chip machines more developers would jump on the wagon to create more apps.

      Honestly the surface pro doesn't really have a good alternative. I'm in the design industry, an architect, and as much as I wanted the pro x, the fact that it doesn't run the apps that matter to me - a cad viewer and the office suite ( with one drive integration)with basic conceptual sketching and excellent typing performance. No, the iPad pro doesn't do it. People who get there surface pro need it. And nothing else really works. The question is, who is the pro x targeted at ?

    Will you then do a new comparison with the Pro 7?

  • @sameerghayya3203
    @sameerghayya3203 4 года назад +1

    You don't need to be hostile like that about the Pro X just because maybe you don't like ARM SOCs or hate moving on in PC Industry. it's still new, and it's great for a new device with ARM which will attract developers and companies to port native apps to it's architecture soon as we hope. once developers care about it sure Microsoft and Qualcomm will do more improvements to it's performance. at 15W it's processor will do way better than x86 in performance, battery life and cooling. just give it time and make a fair review instead of just criticizing it all the video.

You have on most occasions been hype-free in your appraisal of polished turds like the Surface Pro X and the Surface Duo. For what it's worth, I trust your judgement, and consequently crown you winner of my award for "reviewer least swayed by gloss and tinsel, and general bullshit hype". You could do better on this video if you showcased specifically what the Pro X fails to do. In this video, all you showed was what it handles well while bemoaning it's short comings. We know it can't run 64bit x86 apps, seeing how it handles 32bit emulation would of been informative vs just the soapbox. Not to mention, what works for you is not always the bar that others fall under. No mention of the advantages, like LTE for those who might work in Office and Slack on the daily, for example. This is just scathing for the sake of being scathing.

    • @ElbryanDoUrden
      @ElbryanDoUrden 4 года назад +4

      Agreed. I traded in my Surface Pro 6 for the Pro X, specifically because of the larger screen, LTE connectivity and integrated pen, while retaining the ability to run the windows legacy apps that iOS and Android will never get. In the meetings I go to, wifi can be very hit or miss, so having LTE goes a long way to being more productive. The Pro X is certainly a niche product for a certain customer, but it is a better product to fill that niche then the Pro 7. The Pro 7 is a better all-around machine, but the Pro X excels in the areas that are most important, to me (connectivity, screen size, legacy software compatibility).

    Totally missing the point if the X. In couple of years everyone will thank Microsoft for pushing ARM processor! Massive benefit for laptops and tablets, it will make them slimmer, better with battery, less heat etc. Also consider the fact that the Pro X will only get better. Every software developer is working on the software support for that devise! Adobe is the biggest name out of many who is making there products fully compatible with that processor. So like I said in couple of years everyone will thank Microsoft! Personally i'm considering buying one in the next months just to help push that process further, also I need to update mine 😁

      @@filoniz everything that is pushed to the market at the beginning is not ready, we need to have it as a product in order for us to develop it. Example is the first laptops, they were rubbish, not good for anything, but 10 years later everyone wants a laptop! So with ARM processors, we are totally unable to make them ready before we release them. They have to be developed and this only comes by using them, not by testing them in a control environment

    I see the Surface Pro X as Microsoft's first big attempt at a catalyst for devs to create, or at least co-develop their apps to be optimized for ARM devices. I'm not sure what CPU the Surface Neo will have, but I'm guessing it will at least have an ARM variant, which has LTE baked in, and is supposedly better optimized for mobile in terms of power efficiency, and battery life. Despite the beauty and innovation of the Surface Pro X and the upcoming Surface Neo, the success or failure of both will depend heavily on how well their third party support is.

Office doesn't even have an arm64 version out, so you're running 32 bit... good luck running lots of current apps that don't even export 32 bit versions anymore, you're hosed. No luck. No Adobe Creative Cloud...nada... Might as well buy a Chromebook if all you're doing is cloud based. Maybe next time you could compare with a browser that is compatible with ARM Processors, and does not have to be emulated to run on the surface pro x, that would a be a proper fair comparison.

    I have the Surface Pro 4 with the core i7 and it's still a beast, only problem I really have with that is that the battery life is very poor. Other than that, I really have no reason to upgrade, at least not until Microsoft decides to updates the design of the Surface Pro, hopefully next year.

    If you use the surface pro x just for office especially for one note and webbrowsing, it's way better than the Ipad pro or the surface pro 7 . And it has a full explorer what do you need more. You can use one drive dropbox etc.. PDF's are no problem aswell. If you do photo video editing you should buy a dell xps 15 inch!!!!

    Surface Pro X works well for web/app development using cloud architecture or an Intel Xeon or i9 from a remote desktop computer. With that it can do about everything. If is your only device it may do some things slower (emulated) until Adobe and other updates their softwares. This is the future of tablet and mobile computers. A real proficiency (professional) device should use big hardware. For now...

    For my business, I needed a bigger screen than the sp7, the ability to allow remote access from my device on zoom, LTE, powerpoint, documents, email, etc. I was not a "fool". I had specific needs which this device addressed perfectly. Do I wish it was also a full blown computer? Of course, but even such it has replaced both my computer and my old ipad perfectly for exactly what I need. I LOVE my SPX. People are not fools if they buy something that fits what they need. You're over generalizing and assuming everyone's needs are the same.

    First of all of you're going to compare it you should start with the sim card model. Then assume with arm you get a $20 unlimited data package. Then we begin. I'm sorry the 7 already lost.... Add the bigger screen and better battery life.... And it really loses. For me, a business user, i have no regrets at a $400 sale discount.

    • @deankaltsas
      @deankaltsas 4 года назад

      @Dami Fash no I get what you're trying to say and I get what he tries to say He's one of my favorite reviewers. what I'm trying to say is all the time they compare things that are not the same like when they compare the iPad to the surface pro 7 etc etc.... This is a similar situation which is this has a SIM card and that's the primary focus of this tablet is a SIM card and an arm chip. It's it's difficult to compare a seven which doesn't have that maybe a better comparison would have been an iPad with a SIM card and a mobile chip.. I know this still isn't coming out right but do you understand where I'm coming from You have to compare apples with apples not apples and oranges

    I think you are really missing the appeal of the Surface Pro X. If we are being honest, neither of these machines are designed to be one person's sole machine. Anyone buying a Pro 7 to be their only laptop has much better options, the Pro X shines when it works as your traveling machine. LTE is a game changer, so is upgradeable storage. A few Hundred bucks is a small price to pay for a better and bigger screen, better keyboard and pen dock and just fresher design. Not everyone requires sophisticated software applications while on the road, and the form factor of the Pro X just shines. I think its an excellent compromise between an ultra portable laptop "UPL" and a tablet. I'm not ready to go full iPad Pro on the road with me, but the Pro X punches well above its weight as an UPL with certain limitations. The Pro X may only appeal to a limited group of persons, but ARM is here to stay and I wouldn't bet against MSFT getting the Software issues right. You are comparing the X to a laptop, and it will always fail in those comparisons. But if you look at it as a Premium Tablet such as the iPad Pro, with a Windows Architecture and LTE, it starts really making a lot of sense for a specific group of persons.

      iPad Pro is not a computer which is why its market share has dropped from 80% to 34% over the past decade. 99% of what people do on an iPad can be done on an iPhone (take videos/photos, video/photo editing, gaming, internet browsing, emailing, NetFlix, MS Office-type apps). The reality is that I cannot run statiscal software such as SPSS, AMOS, and R-Studio on an iPad, including the iPad Pro. So calling any iPads a Pro device is a "marketing" joke because video editing, photo editing, and drawing are hobbies...

    I think you just hate the Windows 10 on ARM. But The fact is, that even when the chrome was emulated on SPX, it was still faster than SP7 with native chrome, ahahaha. Also every 20 seconds you said that u cant use programs you like on SP7, but u never said any example :-) It can run steam, it can run Winrar, it can run VLC, it can run photoshop, it can run full office. And its not gaming machine, also its not for 3D modelling and rendering device. Its not even SP7

      Cost of this device is its real Achilles heel, it needs to less expensive for any chance to succeed and sold in higher volumes. More get sold, more apps will be made for it. Otherwise it will not go far and run out in the middle of good innings at 99.. making a cricket game reference if anyone understands😀
