TRIP REPORT | Delta Airlines - MD 90 - Houston (IAH) to Atlanta (ATL) | First Class

- Delta's MD-90s were the backbone of its fleet, operating hundreds of flights daily. Its time has sadly come to an end, as more efficient jets replace the old Mad Dogs.
This particular flight occurred on the last full day of passenger operations for the type, as it was retired the very next day (6/2/20). They are now all stored in Blytheville, Arkansas where they're likely awaiting scrapping.
The onboard experience was extremely comfortable. Since this was during the COVID-19 pandemic, the service was reduced, and cabin capacity was capped at 60%. This showed that Delta is taking precautions much more seriously than other airlines, even if it means losing millions in revenue.

Rest easy Mad Dogs. We will remember how they grace our skies.
TFW you show up on QFS’s video not once... but twice 😮. Great video bro, looking forward to the next one... on the MD88!
RIP the Delta MD-80/90's. I had the pleasure of flying both types, at least the 717 lives on (I'll fly one in two weeks).
Thanks QFS for making this video! I love watching them! Also, R.I.P. delta MD90
today is 6-1-2022 and this flight was from 6-1-2020, so naturally i had to watch it again. Well done Quebec Foxtrot Sierra and thanks so much for sharing!!
Rest In Peace Maddogs ❤️❤️
I worked for Delta for many years. Started in 2000. Had many many fond memories on the -88/90. Especially before they remove the aft galley. Some really great times. We used to call it "The noodle"
i love aircraft with rear mounted engines they look amazing
Thank you for your Service MD-90.
It's so nice being able to relive this amazing flight in HD. I was also onboard this flight seated in the back by the right engine. Great work on the video while we never met it was nice seeing an aviation celeb in person :)
Great video I’m glad to see someone’s flying!!!
Awesome video Quintin! That must have been really awesome to be on a flight so historical. I always loved the -90 variant, those massive v2500s look so good in the back. My last flight on a maddog was in September of last year with American. They’re such smooth and stable aircraft and I already miss them a ton. God Bless the MadDog!
so glad to have YT recommend i watch this again. tonight's Q re-view is probably my favorite @qfsaviation video!! Q is going from IAH (my home airport) to ATL. and he is on a mad dog. and i got to watch and record the departure!! thanks so much for sharing this one qman!!!
Thanks QFS !!!
Thanks for the video bro keep them coming I miss flying so very much
MD- 80 has a loud departure because of the low bypass PW JT8d engines but the MD-90 is no louder than an Airbus A320 which it shares the same engines with the IAE2500....
Great report there, will miss the MD series, only flown one MD90 from MSP to DCA and 2 other MD88s so feel like I've missed out!
another great trip report..riding on a MAD DOG...you had a choice of sitting up front and enjoy a quite trip...or get a seat in the back and enjoy true sounds.....itripreport...had the best seat..thanks guys..✈✈✈
Really nice to see the md90 again
What an amazing farewell to this airplane! Excellent job!
