They make sharp fine point pens. And I even use .01 fine black too
@@mikemcc1156 smart!
Always a great resource channel! Thanks for posting man. I appreciate your enthusiasm & practical advice. Enjoy your day
Awesome! I was wondering if painting minis with markers was possible. Rob, you did not disappoint! Great video
Thanks Steven!
Yes. Been doing this for years. I put a brush to the tip of the sharpie and use that paint to do details. You can also use gundam markers to airbrush
did a whole army with these last year, saved me TONS of time and looks great!
Its amazing how much time it saves.
Just ordered all 3 Sharpies, cheers mate!
finally! A way to paint the thin lines of the pentacles on my Ctulhu wars summoni gates!
I have to say, I've heard of people using these options, such as sharpie and posca markers, but I haven't seen it in work. I'm going to try it on my Wolves next week.
I swear by them!

You're quite welcome :)
Hello, Any thoughts on using Molotow Acrylic Paint Markers?
I want to put some emblems on my Blood Angels' shoulder pads and have been stressing out about painting them on being a beginner. At work we use these ultra fine sharpies to write on labels and I think that might solve my problem.
I painted my marvel legends ronin swords with silver I’m thinking my mcu kingpin came the white gem since it’s inaccurate already I wanna paint gem silver but I keep it stored most of time with parts ima fraud it’ll rub off onto other accessories o don’t want it to. Any way to avoid it rubbing off onto other accessories?
Does the ink chip?
A super star entertainer autographed my car fender with a felt tip marker that faded away even though the car was stored away. Is there a method to bring out the autograph??? Thanks!
Didn't know citadel paints come in bottle droppers.
Can you help my please? I have an idea 💡You know marvel legends figures right? There are most of them with suit on. My plan is to make a figure with an white shirt. But do you think a white marker can cover the black hands suit? So that it's look all white? I want a figure without jacket but only shirt. I don't know if you underhand my idea 🤔
I dont think that would work sorry
I've used sharpies to colour my tau, sooooo easy and accurate
I've used black sharpie on automotive airbrush jobs, to outline pieces. The sharpie will go all to shit when you clear coat it unless you use the permanent marker with the red writing on the pen. Also, it fades almost completely away in a short period of time. I dont think I'd recommend it for models.
I agree. I tried this on some gundams when I was a teenager, before I discovered gudammarkers. One of them looks great because the fading looks like intentional wear. But I just got lucky. It's no good for something you'll be handling.
uhm... nice idea but I am not sure I get what the advantage would be over using a brush... I mean yes you do not have to get back to the paint pot all right but that is about it right? I guess I should try a white marker for high lining maybe that could be useful who knows... being rigid you do not have to manage inclination that much
You save hours of time.
Directions unclear, matte coated the Sharpe, now it won't work.
Yo blazed damn. It's ok. I like to blaze and paint.
*DO NOT USE SHARPEE, ITS NOT A PAINT MARKER*
I don’t know if i should try this or not...
Don't!
It just chips off
FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE!!! NOT MEAN'T TO BE KNOWN!!!!
Don't do this, metallic sharpie will wear off and look like junk within a couple days. I've tried it, it doesn't work.
You must have missed the part where he suggested coating it with a matte spray coat and being able to paint over it.
Agree, sealing it is the pro painter tip. Looks good on ultramarines imho.
You’re absolutely correct. Putter a coat of ‘varnish’ / similar goes a long way in giving the trim work longevity. (It’s alway better to not just shoot down a tip... most of us need to try these ideas for ourselves and then decide if it’s a practical tip for our personal application)
I have models that are 4 years old with this method, and still, look great. These titans I did I didn't even matte coat for weeks even, also fine. Sorry, you had mixed results, but it 100% works, for years even!
@@spikeybitstv Fair enough! I'll admit I definitely didn't coat it in a reasonable amount of time, I think this one might be on me.
This is not a good idea. The paint is terrible. Just practice and you dont have to waste time with shit paint. I have done this and it just chipped off.
