Thank you SO much this made it so simple, popped over to the store and was fixed within the hour. I feel productive today!
You are welcome, Simon. It's my pleasure to help.
Thanks for the post! I gave it a thumbs up mostly because of the birds chirping in the background... sounds like a beautiful scene, perfect for replacing a taillight.
It was a beautiful Spring day and I was enjoying hearing the birds too.
So simple, with a great explanation! God bless!
Thanks for very clear instructions. I have five thumbs when it comes to mechanical tasks, but I had no problems replacing a burned out left brake light in my 2007 Honda Fit (also replaced the light on the other side for good measure).
You are welcome, David. It's my pleasure to help. Way to go on the successful bulb replacement.
Did one of these a year ago. You are correct when you say the hardest thing is lining up the key way
Thanks for the video. Easy to follow with no long lecture. Much appreciated.
You are welcome, Paulus. It was my pleasure to help.
This was the best auto mechanical instruction I've come across. Even the other good ones have left out the important tiny details.
Very helpful video! Just got done taking care of it. Easy peasy!
Thanks for the video. Just replaced both of my dead bulbs in my Fit and your video helped me so much!
You are welcome, Shawn.
It was tight but I got it. Thank you, it's just a little turn and she comes out. God bless.
You are welcome, Gomer.
Helpful --- I was replacing a bulb for an elderly friend who had been super-kind and generous to me, and this video did the trick for me! Thanks for posting :)
You are welcome, Fred. It's nice of you to help your neighbor.
Thanks! Great, straightforward explanation that shows all the steps.
You are welcome. I try to make quality videos.

You are welcome, Rocket Rider. It's always nice to hear from you, thanks for watching the videos.
OK, this is really clear and really good, super helpful, thank you so much! And thank you for not having stupid music playing in the background of the video! I'm serious, so many youtubers think they have to have that in their videos and for me it really detracts! Great job.
Thanks for the compliment, Barbara. I do my best to keep the videos as short as possible with enough detail to get the job done.
You made it so simple and straight forward. Thanks !
You are welcome!
Short and to the point. Well done.
Thanks for the compliment, Richard. Best wishes for the bulb replacement.
Such a straight forward guide. Thank-you!! Was super helpful.
You are welcome.
Excellent video. Covered all info and steps very well.

Very helpful. I was especially pleased with the length of the video -- everything was informative with no padding.

Gonna be super easy to replace my bulb thanks to you.

Thanks for the super clear video. It really was as simple as you showed it to be.
You are welcome.
Thank you! Did it in a couple of minutes.
You are welcome!
Thank you! You make it look so easy but at least I was able to do it following your instructions.
You are welcome. It sometimes takes a few tries to fit the new bulb in place, but with a little patience it is doable.

You're welcome!
EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you! (I always appreciate a woman instructor, especially around cars!)
You are welcome, it's my pleasure to help.
Thank you!
On the Fit, small hands are required for all bulb replacements. Goo video, but if you have someone with small hands to help reinstall.
Gonna do this today! Thanks!
You are welcome, Brian!
Nice! I have to replace one of my brake lights on my Honda Fit (Same orange color!) This was super easy to follow and I just ordered my bulbs of Amazon. Easily saved a ton of money. Thanks!
You are welcome! I love the orange color, it's very visible to other drivers too.
@@Know-How-Now haha yeah. I like to call it the driving traffic cone

Excellent video instructions.
Thanks for the compliment.
Very-detail oriented. Thanks for saving me $ by DIY.

@@Know-How-Now It was really easier than I thought..but the opening is very narrow..you need small hands to turn the socket..
Thanks for the video!

Thank you so muchhhh!!!!!
You're welcome!
Thanks you made it look easy. Will be changing mine this weekend
The hardest part is putting the socket/bulb back in place. Best wishes for the bulb replacement.
@@Know-How-Now thank you I did it. So much easier than I thought. Thank you so much for the great video
You are welcome, Carla. That's great news it was an easy repair.
Thanks. It’s about that time the bulbs will start to go out. I have a 2012 Sport and this is the first taillight bulb to go out. (Today is 2021).
thanks
You're welcome
Good job
Thanks
Thanks for the help! However when I barely started to pull the bulb to get it out, a little part of the gray plastic broke off on the side. The new bulb works fine though. I'm guessing there's no exposure danger in terms of it being a fire hazard or anything like that if there's a small shard of plastic missing.
Yours came out so easily. I can’t get mine to turn. I’ll try again.
Ok, At this point I'm just watching because you have interesting videos. I don't have this car. Good job!
Thanks for the compliment. I do spend a lot of time tinkering and researching the videos. I often learn some little tidbit that is interesting. I try to put those interesting tidbits into the videos. It's been fun making the videos. Thanks for watching them.
This was so helpful and succinct that I was able to fix my might right in the AutoZone parking lot. thank you so much for putting this vid together.
You are welcome, it's my pleasure to help.
Very helpful ma'am 👌☺🙂👏😀
Thanks a lot 😊
@@Know-How-Now you welcome I changed back break light today all thanks to you.. Yessss
Hin KHH: Once again, your site has assisted me with my 2013 Honda Fit (base), with a brake light/tail light replacement. You are right, hardest part gettng socket seated after replacing bulb. One question--another asite mentioned using dielectric (?) grease. Since you didn't mention, I didn't use. If I did use, what is its purpose and how would I use it.
Dielectric grease is used on electrical connections. It prevents connections from corroding. The bulb connection in your car likely doesn't get exposed to water/moisture. The grease would be optional there. It would likely make the bulb easier to remove next time.
I wish more women would do automotive tutorials. Very informative and easy to follow.
Thanks for the compliment, Megan.
I change almost all my bulbs to LEDs for my 2018 Honda fit.
0:17 Sometimes you can save big bucks by asking an auto-parts store if they have a bulk box of a certain type of bulb, and then buying just the single loose bulb instead of a neat little blister-package of them like this. My elderly friend only had to pay a buck or two for his bulb when they just took one bulb out of the box for him, rather than around $4.50 like you had to pay for each of these two in this nine-dollar package.
Thanks for the great tip, Fred. Next time I am going to go to the parts counter and ask.
@@Know-How-Now No problemmo --- us cool do-it-yourselfers hafta stick together and share knowledge that we've each gained while working with everyday repair/improvement projects. :D
P.S. What you could do --- in order to better ensure that you are getting the correct bulb when the store-employee goes and gets one from the bulk box --- is to first find the pricey-two-pack package of bulbs on the display-shelf, then take it to the counter and ask the service-technician to look in their stock of bulk-packages and get a bulb like the ones in the blister-pack; he could therefore have both the visible bulbs and the printed part-number to go by, and then you could also compare the single loose bulb that he brings you with the specimens in the clear-plastic package, without even breaking the blister-seal (here's where carrying a small magnifying glass around with you when shopping at a store can be helpful, to comparatively examine minute details of the bulbs' terminals, filaments, etc., and therefore make sure that they are indeed quite similar).
RUclips is a real game changer for DIY. My dad was a carpenter, built our first house, and could fix anything. He likely learned other trades from being on job sites. He also worked for a home builder early in his career and I'm sure if his work was done he was doing the other trades. When I was growing up there were 3 TV channels, telephone party lines and no internet. Friends and relatives often stopped on a Saturday morning to ask how to do home projects/repairs. I grew up watching dad build/repair and constantly heard the conversations about it. My grandfather and uncle ran an auto repair business too. Without the internet, people learned by asking someone in the trades.
Great idea about comparing the bulb in the package. If I am able, I try to take the broken part with me when buying a replacement.
Would this work for a 2013 Fit?
It should, at look at the 2013 will confirm.
Does anyone know what the small clear bulb is in the clear upper part of the taillight cover? The amber turn signal bulbs are on the outside of this part of the cover and this mystery smaller clear bulb is more toward the middle.
It sounds like you are describing the back up light.
You're mighty casual in touching the new bulb, no rubber gloves?
Why do I need rubber gloves to touch an incandescent bulb?
What year is this honda fit?
It's a 2010. Someone ran a traffic light and hit it. It was totaled. It belonged to my 86 year old mom... only 41,000 on it. It lived in the garage and was pristine.
@@Know-How-Now sorry to hear about that
This was just the turn-signal bulb, which is accessible through that plastic snap-on access-panel --- for the brake/parking light or backup light, you will likely need to remove the three metal nuts that hold the plastic lens-assembly in place on the body of the car, and then carefully pull the lens-unit straight back to remove it, for access to the other two bulb-sockets. Be careful not to drop the nuts or your wrench down into the cavity behind the plastic access-panel; it's a VERY awkward and tight space back there, especially if you have large hands.
Thanks for the tips, Fred.
Been at it an hour. My parents gave me no skills and I hate everything right now
So - You can get two bulbs for $9 or 10 bulbs for $5.47?
That's what I found when I made the videos.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks!
