Great video and I successfully changed my rear light after watching it. Getting the old one out was the hardest part and the light, clips and sliding mount also separated for me. I found part of the problem in getting the light out was that the now free clips were catching on various edges of the body work and light recess. When the light is out I recommend cleaning the area where the light is as I found dirt hid the fact there were deposits of rubber from the light seal / cushion (red in colour) which had begun to degrade. When the light was pushed back it needed a firm push at the right hand end (as you look at the rear of the car - the same end as the electrical connection) but the was awarded with a rewarding "click."
Thank you! Really helped! Getting old one out was insanely hard... Had to break it to get it out... For the new one I just used silicon to seal it, that way I'm sure water wont get in 😅😅
mine came out extremely hard, took several hours and another person to help me take it out, even the light broke.. Thanks for the video tho, couldn’t do it without you!
Mine just broke after washing the car. Not sure if it's the light or the connector that is broken yet, i'm preparing to buy a new light if it doesn't work after it has dried. Great video!
@@RyansWorkshop I followed the steps, but the light keeps stuck in its place... Everything went ok until I had to release the light. I can move it a little sideways from the outside, but I have no enough place to pinch it and pull it out. ¿Maybe if I lever it from inside? I'm afraid of breaking something :(
First thanks for instructions! I've just changed my light now with a new, but I'm not certain if the gasket all the way around really felt thight. Guess it should be thight to avoid water ingress?
Thanks for the fantastic video! I know my electrical connector has corroded because first the number of LEDs working reduced, then finally the light failed, so I am thinking the best thing is for me to renew the whole connector when I change the light. So I get a reliable connection which will last. Any idea what the type name for that style of connector is, so I can order one in ahead of time?
@@RyansWorkshop ok no problem, thanks. I figured out my problem must be water ingress because each time the car is parked outside this problem I get the warning on the dashboard that the 3rd brake light stopped working, but if it’s parked in my garage for a week it must all dry out and start working again, because the warning disappears. So I don’t think I have to replace the connector so much as renew the foam gasket around the lamp housing to make it all leakproof again 👍
The battery should always be charged via the terminals under the hood / bonnet and never directly from the terminals of the battery itself (which lives under spare wheel well in the boot). You can mess up the energy management module and ultimately damage it or the battery by charging directly at the battery terminals as the BEM (energy management module) can only track the battery state of charge when the proper charging terminals at the front of the car are used.
Getting a strange rattle out of my 2016 a6. C7… it happens when the car is running down the revs through the gears it seems to happen about 1300 rpm to 1000 rpm any ideas would be appreciated! 👍🏻
@@RyansWorkshop i figured out the previous owner of my car replaced the rear windshield and glued the light with rtv, probably water leaking, so I bought a new light and will have to destroy from outside to change it haha

Technically it should be tight, but I've found that that never really feel that great which is why I think the fail in the first place
Thanks for sharing common quality experience. I'll try come back some later time with more user experience after some rain or car wash.

Thank you, to be honest I'm not sure of the plug type without looking further into it

Hi. Could you make a video on how to find the battery inside the Audi A6 C6 and how to recharge it? It would be very useful and helpful.
Hi, yes I can potentially do a short video on this in the near future 👍

can you replace individual bulbs on the third brake?
They don't have bulbs, they are soldered LED chips
How about audi a6 c7 facelift avant modell is the same to fixit???
Thanks 👍👍👍
Welcome 👍

Mulțumesc!

Why you did not use second and third clip?
I did
Mine is stuck :( wont come off the lid
They can be a bit tricky to get out sometimes
