  • Hello-hello mom and dad meet world viewers! We are replacing the headlight bulbs on our 2007 Honda Fit. This is the same for a Fit or Fit Sport model. We did not pick the nicest day to change headlights, but sometimes you can’t pick and choose when your headlights go out… No music attached to this video just the instructions. The high and low beams are a combined 9003/H4 bulb. The links below are for the LED aftermarket, and the original-style bulb. Either way you go, it’s the same way to replace the headlight. We hope you find this video useful. Thanks for watching.

    Just did this on my 2007 fit. You got it exactly right and your teaching style is clear and thorough.
    I took off the wheel but it’s about the same amount of trouble in the end. Hilarious how difficult it is. Everything else about this car is genius, but the whole point of bulbs is to be easily replaced. (Must be a “screw in a lightbulb” joke here somewhere).

      😂 True about the harder than needed. I’m so glad you were able to get yours changed. Yes taking the wheel off and fully pulling the guard down is probably the best way, I wanted to showcase the alternative path. Have a great day!

    Wonderful! Thank you for not only showing how to get access to the headlights but also for pointing out that second hood support hole. Very impressive doing this in the rain too.

      Thank you for the kind words. With our daughter’s Fit, she bought it used and someone had already cut the splash guards back for easy access to the bulbs. I scratched my head at first, but when it came time to change a blown bulb, it made so much sense.

    God Bless you for doing the job in the rain. So annoying to have to even go to this much effort to change a stinking bulb.

      Agreed and thank you, hoping changing it out with an LED bulb helps doing this much less frequently.

    Thank you, this was so much easier than trying to destroy my hand by going in from the top. 🙏

      Yes we tried that also. Then we found this and knew we needed to share. Anyone with adult sized hands can not fit from the top! Have a great night.

    it is easier to unscrew the two screws on each side of the front bumper and remove the pistons from above, move the bumper away, remove the headlight and change the lamp for 5 minutes longer in time, but it is more convenient.

    Lol. I didn't know that was how you were supposed to do it xD
    I got myself an 08 Fit 2 weeks ago, and the previous owner riveted the top plastic of the headlight mounting bracket, cause I guess that part broke off at some point.
    I was already planning on removing the housings to restore the lenses, so I went ahead and replaced all three bulbs in each housing, having believed that I would need to remove the housing every time a bulb went out.
    Oh well. They look new now, and of course I aligned them to make sure I wasn't blinding traffic in front of me. Especially as I went with LEDs myself ^-^

      That’s awesome! I would like to restore our very cloudy lights too. Have not found a permanent solution yet.

    The hook is such a pain in the butt, It's easy to remove, terrible to put it back

    Hi, thank you for showing that. Really complicated just to change a single bulb.
    I have a question, I put led lights on my Honda Fit 2007 but the high beam doesn’t work :( with the halogen works perfectly.

      So first thing to check is that you picked up the correct led bulb that have the low and high beams. I believe it’s the 9003 bulb. Check low and high beams right away after installing. We first bought a relatively inexpensive pair from amazon and the high beam on one bulb quit working after a few months. We bought a higher rated pair and both low and high beams work well so far. Hope this helps.

    Good video.. I think I will take the windage tray and bumper/wheels off. I have to zip tie repair the tray and replace some missing clips anyway, good to know you can do it this way though!

      If you needed to just replace a headlight, then a good balance of accessibility and not removing too much would be to jack it up, remove the wheel, pull back the wheel guard, and then you'll have full access to the headlights/park lights. Thank you.

      A windage tray prevents oil splash back onto the crankshaft, and helps protect the engine or gearbox in the event of either gearbox or engine failure. It ain't that plastic under the car.

    Thanks! Why do they make it so inaccessible?

      Great question! I’ve noticed this with new cars too, even the big cars, where you need to remove the bumper to change out a headlight! That’s pretty insane, unless the cars are equipped with LED factory headlights. Yeah, that’s why we replaced ours with aftermarket LED. We hope they’ll last much longer than traditional bulbs.

    We tried to change the light in a 2007 Fit but there is a gasket around the assembly. Ended up taking the bumper off.

      Yes my 2007 had the same issue.

      That gasket slides off. It's a dust cover. Just make sure you out it back on as it seems they didn't. Wonder why the light didn't last as long (outside of it being a cheap HID).

    If you turn the wheel on the other side is more simple

    • @momanddadmeetworld
      @momanddadmeetworld  Год назад

      Indeed that helps on both sides to get your arm up to the bulb area.

    Honestly it looks like removing the tire would make it a lot easier

    • @momanddadmeetworld
      @momanddadmeetworld  Год назад

      Removing the tire and undoing the clips makes it a lot easier. If you remove the tire and leave the clips, it still gives you the same amount of clearance.

    I’ve seen someone comment on another vid that you can access it from the top by just turning wheel in instead of out. Has anyone done that way?
    I haven’t found a vid that actually done it that way but the person said it was easier for him.

    • @momanddadmeetworld
      @momanddadmeetworld  Год назад

      Thats a great question. I have never been able to access it from the top on my year and make. I have always had to go from the side.
