- This DIY tutorial will show you how to replace the brake light for a Honda Fit 2009-2014. My driver side brake light went out and I picked up a replacement bulb from Napa. This repair only took a few minutes and only required something to pry the access panel off with. Anyone can do this simple fix.

I just changed mine. One thing that can help is to look at the bulb from the outside. You can see if your turning it the right way. And you can see if it's lining up right going back in.
I had to push in to get it out and it took a couple trys. But only five minutes, the video was helpful.

Both sides done in 5 minutes. Thanks! The hardest part was lining up those tabs and getting the right angle to twist it back into place

How can you remove the light bulb on a 2009. It's different
Had an inspection and everything was good except my driver brake light was out,went straight to the auto store,installed it myself,and passed,thanks 👍
hi i have honda fit 2009 the break light need to be changed bit only with 2 fingers i can reached the bulb , the problem is that is very hard turning anti clockwise , and I'm scared to use a plyer , any suggestion please thanks
I would think you could use some pliers as long as you don't turn it too hard. Hopefully it won't take that much to loosen it up.

Same issue here and I have small hands!
Whoever designed this at honda needs a kick in the groin. Its impossible to get your hands in to remove or put the dang thing back on. Just left it hanging. Will try again tomorrow. Do they only have gnomes working at honda? 😂

What's the secret if the socket doesn't come out with a finger twist? It's really stuck AND YES i am turning it COUNTERCLOCKWISE.
I'd try some needle nose pliers if they can fit and reach.
@@therenodummy Just don't fit. Even short ones are too long.
Maybe you could try spraying some lubricant on it? Maybe it'd loosen it up.
You probably already fixed it but usually pushing it in a little bit before you twist helps
