Amos & Andy - Seashore Vacation

- Another episode of same thing new day as George "Kingfish" has once again talked Andy into another shady deal. Here the Kingfish is taking Sapphire and his mother-in-law down the Jersey Shore for a vacation just to get away before getting discovered. Enjoy this as any others I have I'm just sharing what I have.
As a small child this was the only program that showed black people as policemen, lawyers and doctors. And these great actors.
It was a breakthrough for black actors.I remember hearing Alvin Childress(Amos)saying "Negroes got better roles than they ever had in their lives. "
Tim Moore said he would never tell a joke he couldnt tell in front of his mother. This is a cast of pure talent. I'm saddened that Tim, or any of the others, did not receive a star on the Hollywood walk of fame....unbelievable!
@ Rhonda Larkin: i quite agree that Amos and Andy should have a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Maybe if enough of us got together we could somehow get them the star they deserve.
I am with you! What do I do? The king fish would make his own star, am I right Andy.
@@richardturner6981 These "Stars" cost about $25K, just about anybody in the industry can get one, just petition for it through the Academy and pay them.....it's a scam...
@ Rhonda, Hello,
Why?
There was a 5-year time limit.
A sponsorship is $30,000 according to one website and according to another it is $40,000.
The explanation of the process and the requirements are all listed on online websites.
But he made that promise that you speak of and I believe he kept it all his life. That tells you a lot about a man.
He didn't get his earthly reward but the eternal reward is so much better and so much more important.
@@mikestang679 , Hello,
I read that the local
Chamber of Commerce decides who gets a star.
I'm wondering whether plaques for the Amos and Andy stars could memorialize them and be placed in a permanent visible location like on Lenox Avenue, on Broadway or near the Apollo theater.
I wish someone who knew how to facilitate this would step forward and get it done. Maybe there's even an organization out there somewhere that could help. I would be willing to donate funds.
Wonderful show with warm-hearted humor for everyone !
Very funny show,it is a shame that it was taken off the air for so long with such flimsy reasons. This is a true American classic and part of our heritage, there is nothing shameful or wrong with this show.
Can watch them over and over like the honeymooners
my father and older brother (God rest their souls) used to watch three sitcoms in the '50's: Sgt. Bilko, The Honeymooners, and Amos and Andy...all very funny. thanks for sharing these...
Tim Moore (Kingfish) was one of the greatest comedians of the 20th century! And the acting of all the characters here was great.

The way he would turn his eyes up,we knew something was gonna happen 😂
This show is better than most that are on today! I had never seen any of the Amos and Andy scotches before, due to the reputation of being an embarrassment from the past! I finally gave them a try and couldn't stop laughing, loved every minute and the actors were great! 😆😄😃✨😎✨👏🏼
Fun ny. Funny. Best show ever
Kingfish was a star in his own right, based on his friendship with Amos and Andy.
This is some of the best comedy I have ever seen. Its such a shame this isnt on regular TV so everyone can enjoy these wonderful comedies.
+James Waight - Yes, Amos & Andy was always funny. But humor is much different today. Sad, but true.
James Waight your right
This show would put ALL others to shame.
They were and ARE the BEST comedy show next to The 3 Stooges.
Thanks for sharing these historic examples of comedy! Very refreshing compared to the trash passed off as comedy today.
Thats right T.V. is filled with trash now!!
Only a racist would think this show is racist. One of the best TV shows ever done!! Funnier than anything on today, they didn't resort to nudity & vulgarity.
TheTruth
TheTruth i agerr
well blacks cant be racist so that theory has no logic
Every comedy to its time period. This show was on tv during the jim crow era . When a majority of blacks were considered inferior. Anyone raised under those influences wouldn't see the racism in this show or society..Even today comedy can be mean spirited and offense yet funny
@ The Truth: i quite agree with you.
Calhoun was the best with his dialog and his rapid fire delivery of it
Calhoun playing the lawyer was rapid fire fun!!
Thanks for the posting. Ole Kingfish is still up to his tricks and we can go back in time with these videos and watch him get his due.
I love the looks Kingfish gives Andy when Kingfish tries pulling something and wants to know if Andy will bite.
Love this episode! Always loved it when Andy outsmarted the Kingfish. LOL funny character driven comedy.
Ya Andrew H. Brown played the foil for the Kingfish tricks. Amos was the voice of reason always!
Great actors.. Every episode was very well written. Only wish we had this now days.. I use to watch them every afternoon at six pm.
@ Robert Treadwell, Hello,
I suppose you know that you can get all of the episodes on RUclips except the four missing
ones.
Watched these when they were new and I thought they were so funny. I was a kid and wasn't raised on racism! Real comedy!
you dont know what racism is ass
What does racism have to do with it?
@@edwardpeterson1634 Many people claim this show was racist.
I love this show. I remember watching this show as a child. I don't see what was so offensive about this program. Many of the black actors in this program appear as professional people.
I watched these shows as a kid and I still laugh as much now as then. These are priceless comedies.

Mr Clinton, thanks for posting, love the Classic TV shows. Good clean fun for any age, audience. Take care.
GREAT cast and writers! The blacks complained that the Kingfish was a scammer so the NAACP shut it down, DAMN!
Hi Owen, I just wanted to thank you for sharing these great comedies! I'd also like to say that Tim Moore is one of the funniest men ever on film! Thanks.
The real Original Kings of Comedy. Totally a hoot. Haven't found the racist angle yet. This is pure gold...
The "racist angle" on "Amos and Andy" is that the actors on the original radio
" Amos and Andy Show" were white. But for the TV show to show 1950's "social progress" they actually hired black actors, (putting white actors in blackface to play black people on TV was a definite no-no). But they still had to play funny/wise clowns and buffoons in a basically segregated America. But, on the other hand, they did cash all their nice paychecks...just sayin...
@@GFSLombardo I understand that part of the objection. White folks perpetrating to be Black, whether black face or vernacular is racist and repugnant. My point is that the TV show was hilarious...
I appreciate your comment. This country sucks when it comes to race and Black actors always have to be "funny"...
That alright in that time period some peoples didn't see the racist angles in this country . It done in a subtle and mocking way. Where is the windshield in amos cab ? Get the idea
Sapphire is a wonderful spirit. Mama sees right thru George.
I watched this show all the time when I was a youngster and loved it then and love it know. Great comedy.
THE VERY BEST OF COMEDY.
Ive only just "discovered" this show and this is the second Ive watched and its quite funny.
A bit like The Phil Silvers Show, with Kingfish playing Stg Bilko.
Ernestine Wade was the beautiful actress who played Sapphire. She did not make her a clown or a stereotype but rather a genteel lady who put up with George. She might be the most neglected actress of her time. You Tube has brought her back and shows us what an extraordinary talent she was.
She was past her prime at 45. 20 years younger, may be she was "beautiful".
Love at first sight for me as a kid back in 1959. Sapphire was so beautiful.
She seems like a wonderful person. I love mommas hats too.
I remember growing up in Brooklyn and my mom and dad watching the show. The intro music was my cue for bedtime. That was a great show. Funny. And their was no racist involved. It was just good old American comedy. Nobody said anything against or racist about the show. Both black and white enjoyed the show. Miss those days. Sad how everything has changed. Thanks for posting. Really enjoyed this. Just subscribed too! Thanks!
Another very funny show. Great actors and story line. Well done. Thanks !
Great classic shows. Better than any comedy today.
My late father done brought me here.
Thanks, dad!
ABLAZ X (Armaniblast) months before my Father passed away, he introduced me into this sitcom
I love the Mama character !!! She is so cute and tough . Love the way she wears her hat and white gloves .
I love watching Amos & Andy the shows remind me when i was younger and a lot of laughs

Haha..."What about the jackass Kingfish?" "Oh, you can stay here too Andy!" Just awesome.
The best comedy series ever 👍
Better than most of the stuff they call entertainment this day and age.thanks for sharing a great classic show. Love watching these talented actors
Their Antics were hilarious.
kingfish mother in law always used to wear the craziest hats!!
That was mocking the way black womens wore their hats on Sunday
Thanks for sharing this ultimate classic show. I LOVE the radio show and it's so cool to see it on screen. Thank you!
I don't care what anybody says, this show was great. It's part of my childhood. We weren't thinking anything racist. Thanks for putting these shows on. Enjoying them.
I do not see how this was viewed as racist. The man advising Amos to invest in nuclear energy. Pretty bright fellow.
@@royhenry6506 You are a one sided bigot. If it were white people being foolish and comedic then where would your mind be?
It was not racist but you know how some people are perpetually offended and want to show how much power they have. Supposedly, it showed the black people in a bad light so it had to go-------only to be replaced with shows like "In Living Color."
@@Skywalker8562 You mean the Beverly Hillbillies which is still on TV today. No problem making fun of the mountain folk.
Skywalker7897 Ever heard of" All in the Family"?
@@Skywalker8562 If? There were/are plenty of shows with white people acting foolish and comedic. Were Ed Norton or Lou Costello geniuses?
Mama has Georgy's number ! Still one of the best shows ever !
I think this is where we get the line "A fool and his money are soon parted" from as Andy is always taken in by Kingfish.
I still watch A&A on the regular!
I really liked there humor😄😃😀😍
Yes I agree but I really hate your spelling .. Their
These shows are just wonderful It would be nice if someone restored these with new color and sound. They should be preserved.
Hi Mr. Clinton! My maiden name is Clinton. Great name. I grew up in Red Hook, NY in the 50s. Thanks for the video!
Mama was tough, I wouldn’t have wanted to tangle with her. Lol
Momma's hat! Lol
I have recently re-discovered this series! I can completely understand the uproar since it was the ONLY representation at the time... but now between the Wayans and Tyler Perry,,, and Viola Davis and Shemar Moore.... these are very simple (post vaudeville) stories and the actors are great! No one talk bad about Ms Jenkins and Sapphire Stevens!
Seashore Vacation, Season 3, Episode 3, aired 20 Oct. 1953. Alvin Childress as Amos, Spencer Williams (Jr.) as Andy, Tim Moore as Kingfish, Ernestine Wade as Sapphire, Johnny Lee as Calhoun, Amanda Randolph as Mama, Arthur McNeely as Mr. Johnson.
@ John Morris, Hello,
I think there's a mix up here.
I have this episode as The Uranium Mine, season 4, episode 2.
I want to thank you, Mr Morris, for all you do in supplying the episode titles and numbers and the names of those actors/actresses who are in each episode. Thank you so much. It is really kind and thoughtful for you to do this for all of us.
At about 10:00 the uranium part comes in this episode and continues to the end of the episode.
And in reading through the comments again, I noticed at least two other posters who commented that this is the Uranium Mine episode.
And I do appreciate others putting up the episodes. It is so kind and thoughtful of them to do so.
But for my own list I would like to have the legal titles and that is why I basically check yours with mine because I feel that your information is the most reliable.
Thanks again.
@@SuperIliad Hello,
I just tried several times to send the link to you. But I have never done this before so it was not going through. I have just been guessing on how to do it and it looks like it might have gone through this last time.
I know how to do it with text or Gmail if I have the telephone number or Gmail address but not coming from RUclips.
Please let me know if you receive it.
Thank you

Kingfish was a hustler lol
Col is correct...the title of this episode is Uranium Mine, Season One, Episode 25.
@ love classic tv, Hello,
I have The Uranium Mine, season 4, episode 2.
I always love that show my brother had the hole collecting and he passed away couple of years ago I tried to get it but his step daughter said she said they didn't see them when they sold everything so if you know how I could find a collecting I would love to buy the set
is it just on my end or does the frame rate get really bad halfway through the video? :(
I noticed that the picture got kind of jerky.
@@garymattscheck9066 , Hello,
I also noticed some jerking in the episode The Rare Coin when they are standing up in front of the judge.
great show !!!!
4:34 George is a brilliant actor
Looks like Mamma has a mustaches ... haaaaaa '
King fish always do andy so wrong
But who always ends up winning in the end?
Andy! And I love it when Sapphire and Mama let Kingfish have it!
@@garymattscheck9066 Hello,
and I love it when the Kingfish pours it on the two women!!!
Sorry, But I disagree with you for so many, many reasons which I have posted under other episode comments.
My favorite is the Kingfish.
The way they treated him was just over the top.
Oh well, I know it was a comedy and they were
playing a role, but I just wish their characters could have been toned down a lot.
I do like their singing voices especially Sapphire's was beautiful except when she was singing off key on purpose.
I loved to hear Tim Moore singing also. I wish they could have recorded something together but I guess that did not happen.
Thank you.
Still don't understand why this show isn't called kingfish and andy
I used to wonder about that too, cuz most of the drama is between Andy and kingfish
@ Atsalyahu Israel, Hello,
they didn't want to mess with the name because it was such a huge success under the original name. But it seems to me that the name Kingfish could have been put in there somewhere.
The name of this episode is the Uranium Mine
These actors never got their just reward. The honeymooners took everything.
Loved the show
Sapphire an outstanding actress.
kingfish reminds me of jefferson davis hogg
