- Andy winds up in traffic court after going though a red traffic signal while he was asleep. The judge finds out his driver's license is dated from 1946 and that Andy failed the eye exam. Years ago the local Blockbuster gave my dad their whole Amos and Andy collection after a complaint from a customer. Videos included the commercials from back then. My dad pointed out that nearly 100% of the actors on the show were black. I love the show and still enjoy watching! Thank you!

Why should they come together ,they are from all over the world ,most black people don't speak English, they speak their own language ,only in America and Europe black people and all people don't really know where they come from and the people with small hats tell them they were slaves but they were not the only ones and the home of white people had no slaves that is the British Isles, that were not of their own men,Britain only finished off paying of a loan in 1976 that it took out to compensate the Jewish owners for the loss of business when they gave up slave owning in 1820 .

Public transportation what it is in New York City, along with the traffic and parking situation in NYC, having a car is nearly an extravagant expense.

Wow, the Judge is black in 1952. This isn't really racist, not any different than a black sitcom of the 70s like Sanford and Son or Good Times.
Amos and Andy laid off the racial oppression stuff; the cast of support characters are all black: lawyers,doctors, hotel clerks, policemen, secretaries etc,...

Why would Andy’s traffic violation be in the paper? Even for the police blotter that wouldn’t be considered newsworthy.
Why does Amos get few lines?
He’s not the star of the show. This is all about Kingfish and Andy. Amos was always a cab driver and more prominent A character in the original radio show.
