Some of the best comedians in television were in this show. Outstanding, absolutely great!
Just great acting, with pure comedy, was great to watch back then, and today it's just as funny.
In my opinion, these are the absolute best of all the best presentations, how I do miss all of them., restricted for absolutely no reason whatsoever
My great-grandmother bought her first floor model Zenith television in 1952. She would bake tea cake cookies and invite all the neighbors that wanted a bit of home entertainment. On Saturday mornings, our living room floor was real popular with all the children. Thanks so very much for the memories Reelblack. 💖

I ioved the show. The writers went out of their way to make it plain funny with out making a social commentary about everything
Without a doubt, this was the best cast sitcom on TV. The selected actors were absolutely perfect for their roles---and they were truly funny!
“Well where is you thinkin on fugin to?” Man I love Andy. I never understood why it’s called Amos and Andy when it’s more like the King Fish Show or King Fish and Andy show
One of my favorites. Malapropisms galore! Amos N Andy is a historical treasure and should be released on DVD from the original 35mm prints. This show is hilarious 😂
I was 7 years old when this show started. I am now 75 years old and I love watching it on You Tube. Yea for the 50's it brings back a lot of memories. My favorite character on the show was Kingfish because he was so funny 🤣 😆. He made me laugh so much. 🙂🙂😄😄🙂
Tim Moore was simply magnetic as The Kingfish. We looked forward to Amos and Andy every Monday night, just before You Bet Your Life, with Groucho.

I REMEMBER THE MARX BROTHERS 👀😇🙏💝💎
It is such a shame. The NAACP was all for getting the show taken off air. None of these actors were recognized as the talented people the were. This is probably the greatist sitcom in history. Nothing to compare to it since
All the characters on this show were very good & funny, but Lightnin' was the real reason the NAACP targeted this show bc he was a direct portrayal of Stepin Fetchit. And Stepin Fetchit was reviled in the black community.
Thank u for uploading this video. I love it. You have made me so happy.
I cant get enough of Andy Golden Age comedy 😷
"Howdyou do der!"

I loved the show as a child , when it first came out and I love it now at 77 . Greatest actors ever . I loved Lighting , he should have had more air time .❤❤❤❤❤
I just love Amos and Andy. I watched this series when I was a little boy and it was such a comfort to me. It taught me to love and respect black people. And that has never left me. It's not "political" with me. It's a gut reaction in my soul.
It is great
❤
.
You must be black. Are ya?
They came out In 52 I was going on too. Didn't really see them till. I was like in fifth or sixth grade. I didn't see any difference. I didn't recognize color back then. Maybe a Catholic school A difference
Voice not working should be two
Being a child of the 50s, this brings back memories.
Very funny and well acted. A classic series and episode.
"You want a jockey on him?" Hilarious!
Thank You, reelblack, for This (and All Your Posts)! EXCELLENT Quality as well !

Terrific actors, each actor was talented beyond description, I watched this show back in the early fifties, and now have the entire series on DVD, including a couple of old radio programs. They all seemed to love their roles and enjoyed playing the characters. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite, but Calhoun would be in the running, but then trying to pick a favorite would mean putting one actor above the rest and I do think that would be impossible.

They were the greatest no foul language. just pure comedy.
Thanks for the great uploads! I lived through this era, that’s just the way it was, we never thought a thing about it. It was so funny, racism was never a thought in our mind. People who never lived through this time were the ones responsible for banning these wonderful programs. If the cast of “I Love Lucy” were black, I’m sure we could never watch those episodes either. No doubt, absolutely wonderful comedic timing and great acting. Kingfish and Andy were so great together (they were the black “Honeymooners “), and Amos was the voice of logic and wisdom. What a wonderfully talented cast! Imagine if you were told you couldn’t watch the “Honeymooners “ because they made fun of poor white people. To me, good acting and great comedy out trump the race card.
It figures, CHUMP brings up trump.
I love this comedy
After all the years of watching Amos & Andy, this episode made me realize that it’s not so much Kingfish as it is King Fish (leader of Mystic Knights of the Sea). It’s not a name, but a title.
that is wonderful and inspiring....
Thank you so much!
When Sapphire Sat down and mumbled "umm umm umm" and mom came out the room and said "Sapphire, send the things back" , was just too hilarious 🤣🤣😅🤣🤣😅🤣🤣. Poor George
There was a rumor that Michael Jackson had bought all these because he thought it portrayed African Americans Inaba light. I used to watch these Asa child. And also glad to find these again. Ty for posting them
Did you quit school in 2nd grade?
"well Kingfish you knew you were a failure before, but, its never kept you up this late" LOL damn that was good

The shade Andy threw at kingfish was hilsrious.
Thank you, I love it. Keep doing what you do.

My gosh, in two seasons the Kingfish had more job interviews than I've had in forty years of employment!
Maybe it's because IT'S A TV SHOW, NOT REAL. YOU on the other hand are probably lily white, and in those 40 (yrs?) you probably had stable well paying jobs, that LASTED! BIG DIFFERENCE.
A & A premiered 2 days after I was born on June 28,1951. It was a great cast. They got a bad rap. Time will teach that this show was number one.
These are still seen in other parts lf the world....ooooo1952 still hanging in there...😊
I like this show. My family and I watched and laughed together. The stories were good and the acting was great.
The problem with the show was not about racism. It was the characters. At that time in our history, Black America was struggling with civil rights and it was thought that the images portrayed here were a hindrance to the struggle. Many people would see these characters as the real deal. Since people have a tendency to treat you the way they think of you, it was determined to try to eliminate this influence. The actors on the show knew this and have commented on this. The decision to withdraw the series was regrettable but necessary. Behind closed doors, however, Black people continued to enjoy the program even to this day. Today things are a bit different but still there is need to be cautious. When Obama was first elected president, there were those who were saying they were just like the Huxtables. It is all in the think.
Poor Kingfish, don't feel bad I have no artistic ability either!
Interesting to see "Mr Bentley" the writer and the other man taking the test who played in at least one other episode.
The Kingfish Finds His Future, Season 2, Episode 22, aired 30 April 1953, Alvin Childress as Amos; Spencer Williams (as Spencer Williams Jr.) as Andy; Tim Moore Kingfish; Ernestine Wade as Sapphire; Johnny Lee as Calhoun; Amanda Randolph as Mama; Roy Glenn as Walker; Bill Walker as Mr. Gladstone; Milton Wood as Mr. Harper.
That's why I never saw this I was to late but I did enjoy the Jeffersons and Good times and all in the family
Really felt bad for the scheming con man after Sapphire and her mom put him down but Andy liked the paintings and Kingfish won out in the end. Kingfish had some friends that stuck by him through his shenanigans.
Sad the network pulled the program. Left talented actors with nothing. Great, clean comedy
There is not a single better comedy show on T.V.,Except the 3 stooges.
He really apprecilates it
Talent
Kingfish drew that 🐎 just like I would sorta !?! Love this series !!! Best ever & my favorite next to the Marx Brothers !!!
What up bro wyd
Luv the video

We had a Mr Kingfish who lived next door to us in my home town.

Freeman Gosden had the original master films of this tv show.
The Colonel And the Bear was their next project a cartoon.
That's where I'm gonna put my weasel lol
Me too ! And good ones.
Tim Moore was a great actor. The whole cast is great. Tim Moore and Spencer Williams jr. are protruding though.
$100 dollars in 1953 would be equivalent to $1044 in 2022
Apparently the graphics guy used this shows intro font for the Honeymooners 🤣
AMOS AND ANDY was a great show with a cast of seasoned and overachieving performers. It sickened me to see their work trashed by race-obsessed noisemakers.
DO LOVE OUR PEOPLE FOR BEING STRONG IN THEIR LIVES AND THE SURVIVAL OF THEIR ERA WE ARE WHAT THEY WERE WE PICK UP THE TORCH AND MARCH FORWARD FOR WE TOO HAVE A ROAD TO TRAVEL THE ROAD MAY BE ROUGH BUT TOGETHER WE WILL SURVIVE 🙏🙏🙏🌎👀🦋😇🔑🚪💝✨💎😇💯
WTF is all that supposed to mean? It was the NAACP which forced this show to be canceled. Go piss your politics somewhere else.
Those drawing would be worth a lot of money today if it survived through out the years
Yeah figg rip where
I'm gonna spin this globe, and make it stop at ransom....lol.
Classic comedy

Talent all round.
@@altonriggs2352 It's too bad that there was only one season and that the episodes are poor quality.
The King Fish is alive and well and going by the name of Ted Williams, a commentator on FOX News.
Was it common for TV shows in the 1950's to not indicate the stars of the show in the opening credits?
Not common, The Honeymooners would be one example.
ruclips.net/video/R67pnaACMgU/видео.html
I remember watching reruns of this show right before it completely vanished, early
1960s. I was 5 or 6. It’s very dated but still hilarious. Is it really any more racist
than any of the black sitcoms of the 1970s like Sanford & Good Times?I don’t
see it.
Of course you don't see it, John whiteboy, there on none so blind, as those who WILL NOT see. People like you, prove the NAACP was correct!
To be honest, I'm not sure I could draw a better horse
The comments showing appreciation for a show like this is absolutely crazy. We shouldn't be praising a show like this. Just pay attention folks and enlighten yourselves.
Hello This is nothing but the White version of All In The Family Archie
So you like black*ish or THE HATE U GIVE?? HOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHLY MACKEREL! My PARENTS loved thids and the radio show *they were born in the Depression. #AmericanGIrlKit #AmericanGIrlMolly terrotory.

Totally disagree, they portrayed prominent figures, Amos owned the cab company, Calhoun is a lawyer, corporate figures in every episode. It's obvious Kingfish and Sapphire lived pretty decently. It's comedy and it entertained many. During that time there were no blacks on tv and we loved it. What's the difference in them and George Jefferson? George was rich, he was a dry cleaner but he was also a character.
I like and find the show entertaining and I love the actors but yeah I don't get why people don't see how racist some of these episodes are. I agree that the same themes are alive today. For example Bruh Man from Martin was a modern day Lightning/Step n Fetchit. They just hide stuff a little better these days...
I felt sorry for the Kingfish in this one.😥 He was trying to do something honestly this time.
Download and save them before the Woke people have these classics destroyed!
I believe that if you believe there is nothing you ca not receive. But becoming a artistic painter is one thing I would steer clear of. These actors were artists. Yet they were paid like stage hands. Sorry guys.
Oh boy, shit's getting deep now!
@@billw2710 let me take it deeper for u. Love of the Lord always lifts the lowly. Praise God...

This show breaks my heart
Especially the way he's portrayed if only people pay attention
Amber Pickens: You need to get over it young lady, that was a great show with great actors.
@@CyberSoul958 How about the Three Stooges, the Honeymooners, Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello? Do you have a problem with those white actors portraying whites as conniving, lazy, dumb people? Get over your problem dude, Amos and Andy was comedy at it's best and that's all it was meant to be and WAS NOT to show /or meant to show that black people were lazy or dumb. The entire cast of Amos and Andy had something special that actors today do not have.

Hello black people :V
ruclips.net/video/R67pnaACMgU/видео.html
Tim Moore (Kingfish) was great. But the worst theme music of all time especially at the closing credits.
That music chokes me up. Very moving.
I like the theme music.
