  • In today’s video, I’m installing a Next Base dash cam hard wire kit into Liz’s Mk 2 Citroen C1. The procedure to install this would be the same for the Peugeot 108 and Toyota Aygo Mk 2. I used a 5-amp fuse in the (awkwardly located) fuse box to the right of the OBD2 port and a piggy back adapter for the micro fuses. Next, I used the factory earthing bolt to the right-hand side of that fuse box as the negative. This makes sure that the supply is earthed correctly and is only activated when the ignition is turned on, also known as an accessory power supply. I ran the cable up the A pillar on the driver’s side, looking the remainder of the cable behind the panel near the driver’s foot (the panel shown in the video). I ran the cable across to the rear view mirror and stuck the dash cam mount (an adhesive one, nut the suction cup) next to the mirror and powered it up. Seems pretty simple, right? It tried to fight me at every step, I ended up changing a few electrical connectors etc, but I prevailed!
