    Interesting video and it did help me. When looking where to position your camera I would also suggest giving the wiper a quick flick to ensure the lens is pointing through a part of the glass that will get wiped when its raining. Thanks

    You have an "ISO 10487" port just near the radio. You can get the +12v "ACC" from here. Warning on my car ACC and B+ are reversed. ACC = switch on for accessories, B+ = Always switched on.
    If you check on internet, you can "update" your car with an android audio system, 2 din place, back camera, front camera with traffic recognition. For me it was a cool way to "update my car" to modern standards.

    Thanks for the video. If you plan to feed the dash cam to the regular car lighter socket, it is best to start there and feed the power wire through because the power end is too big to fit through any small places in the radio. Also I would recommend going right to the driver side instead of the passenger side because now my radio does not recieve as good reception as it used to but maybe it doesnt matter which way you go and i have a loose aerial connection.

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  4 года назад

      Definitely don't disconnect the air bag, you wont want a massive amount of wire at the cam, so just judge it right, it wont effect the radio, so I think your connection to the aerial might be the problem, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    I have two of these Transcend dash cams, 1 for the van and 1 for the car. Much better than Nextbase. Used a piggy back fuse on ignition switch live. Works great 👍🏼

      @@aaanton11 Disagree, Nextbase don't use sticky pads for a start. They have a quick release mechanism. The power can plug into the mount instead of the cam, so when you snap it out of the mount you're not fiddling with cables. OTG and media functions for quick transfer to a phone or usb stick. Nextbase are just miles ahead of this.

    Just ordered a dash cam for my 107. Having just fitted a new stereo, speakers and amp, I was pretty well knowledgeable on how the inner dash looks. lol. They way you did everything is exactly how I had it planned out in my head. I only came here to see if there was a better way than I had planned, and going off this video, the answer is no. hahaha.

      There certainly is! Instead of splicing and twisting wires together, use a rail! It's much safer too! Splicing an amp into the cigarette lighter is asking for a car fire!

    Hi, thanks for the video, one question! Couldn't you connect the cable to the cigarette lighter straight with using another cigarette lighter? I mean city the can cigarette lighter off and connect it to the car's cigarette lighter.

    If you took wire down the rh side you can go direct to the fuse box under the speedo cowl.

    Just a quick point if you plugged a cigarette lighter in to that 12v socket that's only intended to power phone charging or Sat nav it would blow the fuse or melt them thin wires not intended to take much current a cigarette lighter would have thicker wire like the socket you soldered in just be aware people

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  6 лет назад

      Thanks for the comments, the cigarette socket is a 20amp circuit, the small wires are fine, the same as standard, the only time you would have a problem is if engaged two cigarette lighters at once, and that would blow the fuse, but as the second socket is behind the dash there is no issue 👍🏻👍🏻

    hi mate, if i did what your doing (wiring another cigarette lighter to the back of the original one but behind the dash) then connected one of those cigarette lighter splitters to it (where you plug 1 12v socket and it splits it in to like 3 or 4) would that work or would it blow a fuse? i’m looking to power a set of LED interior lights and hardwire a phone charger that would come out of a hole in the dash. so where you connected the dash cam, i’d connect a 12V splitter then plug a set of LEDs and a phone charger in to that splitter. Reckon it’ll work?

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  3 года назад

      that would be fine as long as the load is less than 20a, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    Thanks for another great video! I always wanted to take power from the cigarette lighter the way you did, but all the info I got referred to making a new circuit from the fusebox. Is there a downside to your method? Can I still use the cigarette lighter to charge my phone when another device (like a handsfree bluetooth) is wired to it?

    Is the door rubber just a push fit? Was there any evidence of a sealant when you removed it? As you probably know, the seals are prone to leaking - sometimes the water tracks under them and over the steel lip. I am about to psyc myself up to change the tailgate seal on my C1 as the rubber to glass seal is not 100% watertight anymore. Thanks.

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  6 лет назад

      There is no sealant in the door seals they just pull off, the rear tailgate seal is the one that seems to give the problems.
