hello, George from Corinth, Greece. this is exactly how I work, in the afternoons after work at the garage. allow me a comment: I think you are doing something wrong with the lower screw on the rear shock absorber.you must finally arrive when the wheels touch the ground before you remove the jack. this way the blue block of the damper does not develop preload.be strong and watch out, our work involves danger.😊😊
So im on hols, away from london, catching up on some vids, its evening im on the balcony, i literally got up and looked to the sky, thinking a plane was going over this late! Bluetooth headphones got me...😂
Hi MEC - nice to see the C1 getting more attention - looks good - you should have made a video on Mrs MEC-TEC cars - the Impact gun is working well now Sealey replaced the first one D
My wife had a five door c1 with the Mickey mouse ear rev counter and i had a Alfa with the 3.2 busso engine. But we had so much fun with the C1 you drove it like a go kart and had many miles done way up the west coast of Scotland up and beyond ullapool great roads
Hi mate Thanks for thr message ! Yep they are great fun and as u say very go kark like, especially now ive lowered mine, glad your having fun on those awesome roads ! All the best MEC 👍👍
I dont think its rubbing by much but i dont really wana run spacers and wider wheels as it puts alot more stress on the bearings etc good thought though 👍
Top job fella, handy little videos these 👍
@@KenDignam thanks so much ! Glad you like em 👍👍👍
A great tip to get the hub off the strut , use a flat chisel as a wedge to open up the gap in the clamp.
Thats a good tip, i used a crowbar but it didnt wedge in as the gap was to wide 🙈
Enjoying this little series, thanks.
Thanks mate ! Glad you like it 👍👍👍

Should do the shocks as well.

🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Already looks a lot better even without the wheels 😊
Thanks mate ! I totally agree 👍👍👍
lowering springs is also stiffer.. so it's a REAL good ide to get some upgrades shocks as well.
Change to some thinner wheels I had 165/45/15s on 7j wheels with an offset of et20 they over hung the arch but with stretched tyres it sat nicely.
Hi mate thanks for the info 👍👍👍
Looking good. Thanks for the video.
May I ask what brand springs you've used?
Hi mate thanks ! Glad you like it ! They are Eibach springs that i used, hope that helps 👍👍👍
Looks great BUT never grip the shiny shock piston with grips, this will mar the surface and possibly damage the shock seals.
Hi mate, yes i talked about that at the end of the vid, it was a very light grip and no damage was caused 👍👍
Good video explaining everything you needed to do in good detail bit unlucky with the wheels but looking great

Yeah , how much play do you have the front wheel touching inner arch. I had a problem like this, and solved it by using a universal wheel spacer.
I dont think its rubbing by much but i dont really wana run spacers and wider wheels as it puts alot more stress on the bearings etc good thought though 👍
Good vid fella 🔝🍌
Thanks mate ! 👍👍
After you inform your insurance watch the cost rise, they want all the details!
Longer trackrod ends ?
Wouldnt that make the wheels turn more and then rub more ??
Invest in a Milwaukee high torque impact gun!
Yes i think that may have to be a future purchase ! 👍👍
@@mec-tec won’t come across many nuts and bolts it won’t deal with!
Get some decent gloves protect your hands Also invest in a malet . Impact gun 300 n/m at least.
Do you have to inform your insurance company of any 'modz'?
Yes you would have to 👍
Why not use a nice soft hammer or copper and also buy yourself some fox wedges!!
Hi im not familiar with fox wedges, what are they ?
Regards MEC
Fox wedges are tapered wedges that are ideal for taking off and opening up gaps in struts.
@@johnmccrae1102 ah gotcha thanks il look into it 👍👍
You need 195/45/15 tyres
Thanks mate, thats exactly what i ended up doing... soon to be revealed 😉👍👍👍
igual al byd f0 hasta en la tapa del filtro de aire del motor
