Make sure you put the shrader valves in the cab. That way you can fill it with a cheap compressor and more importantly, let them out after you unload without pulling over when you forget.
This channel covers it all! I think you’re the one who made me indecisive over a L5P or Cummins now 😂 but then you threw the 6leaker in the mix and brought out childhood dreams and memories 👍🏻
I was between a 2018 f350 and a 2018 Denali 3500 and I was so close with them that I went with ford purely because of the dumb def placement on the gmc. If it wasn’t for that I probably would have went with the l5p. And I’d say the 6r140 is the best transmission of that era. 100k miles so far on the 6.7 with no problems…..yet!
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 thank you for another wonderful video. Thank you for your time and effort for putting it together 10 out of 10. I hope you have a wonderful trip back-and-forth and a safe trip as well.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
What do you prefer for towing your gooseneck? Ram 3500 or your L5P. I have a 19 SRW 6.7 Aisin that thinking about trading to L5P or waiting till the new-gen rams come out. I don't daily the truck so when I use it it is hooked to a trailer or just interstate driving.
I would say for new trucks In the stock to 800hp segment the Duramax does very well. The Cummins is king of ultimate power and the Ford kicks ass in the 100% stock category. This is true for the first 100K miles. I would not recommend keeping a Ford Beyond 100K as they just seem to turn into money pits.
If Josh puts his stamp of approval on a truck, Thats enough for me to Change brands, I have not been happy with the dodges since the 5-6th gens. I knew there was something wrong back in utah when you had 2 or 3 different newer dodges in about a year.
I'm pretty sure you've tried it have you try to use an old def plastic slenky nozzle that come with the def bottle to use as an oil fill for your Duramax
Good tech info and appreciate the honest review. For me the exhaust brake on the Cummins is what keeps me coming back and it seems at home with a trailer hooked to it. How would you compare mileage to a comparable tuned Cummins?
Sooooo what you are really saying is 3rd gens Cummins FTMFW! just playing man lol. On a side note you gotta be the only person actually moving to California, will keep you in my prayers! Enjoy the family bud.
That's a tough one, in a way yes, they don't have head gasket issues like a Cummins, the v8 less torque keeps the SBE alive at higher power level. However when a Cummins has an issue it is generally cheaper to fix. However I would 100% say a L5P is a better option than the hydraulic lifter 5th gen ram with the 6.6
@@horsetorquesdiesel I love it in my Lincoln, my friend has an F350 with it and loves towing with the adaptive cruise on. I was curious if you would use it so I’ll take that as a yes 😂😂
After owning 2 each Cummins. I got into a Duramax. Only hole I can poke into that program, is any work on the engine looks like a bitch compared to a I6.
I love my 2018 L5P tow rig as well 👍 thanks for the video and your insight as always.
100% right, by far the best platform period

Saturday Tech Tips. Kinda catchy!!
I have pulled about 20k with a stock 24 duramax single rear wheel and it towed beautifully at 85 mph like it wasn’t even behind it!
Right on

Something to think about

My duramax seems to get about 6-7% better mileage than either of my 21 rams or my 15 ram
Welcome back to the West Coast
Do you have a time frame or guesstimate of when you’d be settled in and have the time/ability to start taking on basic fab jobs?
Give me a month and let's go!!!

Do you think a stock L5P would benefit from a Airdog?
No not really the stock pumps are awesome

Honestly it's not as bad as the internet makes it out to be. Ideal no but we will make it work
Look at the ccv upgrade from VSE

Would you say that the L5P is a more reliable motor than a 6.7 Cummins?

where in cali you going bro?
I have a different option on L5P’s, but my opinion may be biased since mine left the chat at 115k 😅
Josh krutchen if you wanna see someone that beats the piss out of an 1100hp l5p
I'll check him out
Does it have adaptive cruise? If you use it how does it do?
No it doesn't and I hate that it doesn't 😂

Depends on what's needed
Personally the manifolds are super easy, turbo is easy, head gaskets not so much 😂
Do you have a link Josh to you're cummins towing through the mountains? I have to post a link to shut up a smack talker.
Also why worry about interest rates? Doesn't everyone pay cash for vehicles?
He must be broke
9?
This would be true if the 6.7 Ford didn’t exist
You'd be right if they didn't break so often
All diesel’s break, choose the one you want to work on. I damn sure don’t want to work on or pay someone else to work on a duramax
@@gabewall7381 they sure do but I'd rather not buy a brand that requires you to habitually replace the engine. Just my 2 cents.
@@cole1407I feel that brother, that’s why I’ll always say fuck duramax and go team powerstroke all day🫡🫡
