@elguapo8751 -- We sold our Dodge dually just a few month ago. Bought it brand new in 2008 for hauling our horses around. They are great trucks. However, we are getting old and we're down to one horse now and no more cows. My '05 Chevy hauls the horse trailer just fine. Anyway, I haul my camper on the back of my '05 Chevy HD diesel with the flatbed. Flatbeds are awesome for hauling campers because of the extra space under the overhangs on each side. Plenty of space for storage boxes, generator, propane tanks, or whatever you can dream up. It's an HD 3/4 ton, but I installed heavy duty air bags on the back with an on board compressor. The camper isn't that heavy and I don't even know it's back there. The 6.6L duramax has been a great engine. 170k miles on the truck so far without any problems (knock on wood). We couldn't get our camper to fit on the Dodge dually either. But I bought the camper mainly for hunting season anyway, which I use my '05 Chevy.
I've always been a Ford guy, but the Super Duty is getting long in the tooth on styling and I really wish they would redesign the exterior. I must commend Chevy for the awesome redesigned exterior and I don't know much about the Duramax so I'm anxious to learn all about it. That is one good looking truck!!!! Great choice!
I bought a 2024 2500 ZR2 first Chevy I've owned in 20 years been ford guy my whole life and I love this ZR2. Rides way better than my 22 f250 tremor I had.
I personally drive a Ford F250 diesel and love the truck! However, I believe the current market is so competitive that a diesel truck buyer would be very pleased with their purchase regardless of which brand they buy! My brother owns a RAM. Although his truck isn't a diesel, I got a ride in it recently and have nothing but a very positive impression of the truck.
Literally just bought a 2025 2500 Silverado yesterday and this vid came out 7 hours ago lol. Same color, wheels and all but I got the 6.6 gasser with some extras like auto 4. Love the truck, all the features I wanted and was 1 of 500 trucks I searched within 300 miles to have them all. Look forward to the videos coming up.
I have a company Denali Ultimate 1500 2022 with the 3.0 Duramax. 60k miles so far and it’s been damn near flawless. Had a few electronic issues here and there and a clogged DEF injector but other than that it’s been great. That 3.0 is such a great motor too. Pulls our dump trailers with no issues.
I got the same Chevy, same color, but LTZ Trail Boss. I got the auto 4WD, vented seats, and a couple other things they were complaining about. But, I got the 6.6 L8T gas burner. I had a Duramax but I don’t want a new one with all the emissions on it. The gas engine will do all I need and more, and save $10k right off the front end.
Honestly Chevy and Ford both make quality heavy duty trucks. They both have their pros and cons. I do lean more GM but I wouldn’t scoff at driving a for truck.
Not sure if I am the first one to see this, but the max towing actually isn't that much different. The 18000 was only for conventional towing. The sticker said max gooseneck is 19500 lbs.
RAM can identify a trailer, its length and set lane collision avoidance without a setup or a sticker. I use it regularly in my 2023 Power Wagon. Hook up the trailer, do a loop around a road or parking lot and you're done.
Jesus RUclips! Do we really need a minute of commercials for every 4 minutes of this video, ruins the experience if I didn't choose to come here and complain (so TFL knows what's going on) I'd have shut the video off and gone on to do something else
I have honestly been a DIE HARD Ford guy my entire life. I have probably owned close to 10 different Fords. My last three (all 2017+ vehicles) were noticeably lesser quality than I had been accustomed to. Interior is cheaper quality, engines with finicky issues due to poor quality components. I have a theory that in order to compensate for the increased costs of Fords vehicles moving to aluminum, they are cutting costs everywhere else in the vehicle. Most recently I was going to blindly go buy a new Expedition because Ford was all that I knew. Before blindly spending that much money on a new car, I thought it would be wise to shop around. I was so much more impressed when I sat in a new Suburban. Build quality "feels" so much more solid. Not sure if it is actually any better but the Suburban feels just so much more solid, from the drivetrain to the suspension, to shutting the doors etc. I went with the Suburban and it just feels like home which is so weird to say since I am a Ford guy. I know why people are leaving Ford for GM. The horsepower wars are getting boring, people just want something that will last and be reliable if they are going to spend this kind of money. Fords feel like they are built to be "disposable" these days. Sorry for the rant, I still cant believe I bought a GM but I am so glad that I did!
So interesting that you felt the suburban was better. We own an expedition, but rented a 2023 suburban RST last year and I was not impressed with anything but the shift mapping of the transmission. I felt the Expedition was better in every other way. Glad you like what you bought - that's what matter most!
@@FireCraze I got a Chevy 2500HD ZR2 back in April… my first ever Chevy and I’ll say I absolutely love the truck. The interior, although not an AT4X or Denali is so nice. I’ve had ford, ram, Nissan, Toyota trucks and I never thought I’d buy a Chevy till I saw the restyled exterior and updated Chevy interior. Best truck I’ve owned out of the last 6 trucks I’ve had.
@@chadgailey6832 Yeah, those RST models are barely a step above the government commodity level. Try an LT or above, much better quality. Love my 2017 GMC Denali; few expected repairs at the 100k mark, but extended warranty has totally paid for itself.
I also have a Denali Ultimate….because Ford built my Tremor with a partially unlocking front axle, even though the website had a different spec at the time I placed the order.
sounds like you figured out that aluminum body panels are more expensive. while you're at it, you should look into how GM cheaps out on rust proofing their frames compared to most everyone else. there's quite a few differences that you wont find in marketing material, but if you're one of those people who barely keeps the vehicle for 4-5 years then it probably doesn't matter for you since you don't mind wasting money anyway (despite feigning savings on initial purchase). if you are one of those people, then you're just cheaping out.
I was really pushing for the ford. But you identified a major issue they have and it's affordability!! I wanted a tremor when I ditched my power wagon, but holy cow there was no dealing! I picked up that used 19 you saw at the ranch and slapped tremor wheels and tires on it and it's perfect!
Same here. But they don't have to do all the additional add-ons with the fifth wheel and bed liner plus that price. I do love the Ford though. Especially the interior if you're going to be doing long road trips
I was pushing for the Ford myself and definitely would have chosen that between these two but I completely understand that they need different brands for content. The Ford is actually cheaper if they wanted it to be. Just take off the 13k high output option and now you have a similar spec engine. For less, you still get the sun roof, better seats, lockers, and other goodies missing in the Chevy. Antimatter Blue is an amazing color. It just pops in the sun. It is subjective, but only someone that has a snorkel on their truck would say a depressing flat grey is better at getting rid of the winter blues. lol
@@darpompie4354the high output price includes the Diesel, which the basic diesel is a $10,000 option so the Ford only drops $3,000 roughly. Fords are expensive, but that was optioned closer to what a Denali in the GM is. The pricing when you are feature for feature, they become much more similar in price. The Auto Locking rear differential (G80) in the GM takes getting used to, but works well if you learn how to drive it. Tommy became a much smoother off-road driver after learning the G80, Andrey is not smooth enough to maximize the benefits of the G80 though. He has a tendency when the differential engages to react and back off the pedal which disengages the locker,,,, 😂😂. Maybe with this one Andrey will become smoother. 😊
You probably should have picked an LTZ level Trail Boss truck. Has all of the things you noted were missing and that LT was optioned up to almost the level of the LTZ anyway. You probably could have got more for just about the same money. I'll enjoy watching these - I have my LT Trail Boss on factory order right now in Cypress Grey. I went LT because I hate leather seats and LT is the highest trim with cloth. But with ticking off a lot of boxes on the order sheet it is almost the same as LTZ. Missing power extending mirror, Bose sound, HUD, and seat memory (and leather) but everything else is there.
100%....was on the fence between LT/LTZ and ended up a 24 SLT 2500 duramax optioned with premium plus, X31, 5th wheel pkgs and paid 73k before TTL.... power passenger seat, extended mirrors, digital steering, and 4WD auto I really wanted.....dont care about leather seats one way or the other.....Bose sound is better but not by much
Wait 91k for an off-road F250 and no bed liner? Yeah, I'd be telling them either drop the price and while you're at it, throw in a bed liner. If they do that, then ok. If not, say ciao and walk away. Let the dealer know that you're calling the shots. If they really want to earn your business and make a sale. Then they need to work with you. Whoever is willing to work a deal and make it work buy from them. Otherwise, seek elsewhere. Also, if you're set on a brand and the dealership that sells that brand doesn't want to do business with you, find another dealership. If you're willing to keep looking and be patient enough, then you'll find a good one.
Ya'll could've gotten the Tremor for less than 85. That's what I got mine for that msrp'd at 96. It was bedlined, gooseneck ready, and onboard 2k kw onboard power. But I get it, its a youtube channel going for views. The new model truck may help with content. Congrats on the new ride!
My neighbor bought almost the exact same 2500. It needed a new "Allison" transmission after he hauled a trailer a little over 1000 miles from Texas to Florida. He's had it less than a year and already says he'll never buy another Chevy again since everything keeps breaking and creaking.
Andrea - you have to remove the elephant trunk from your Tundra. That would be an awesome video watching the transformation! TFLT - Love the Chevy - especially the color! Happy Thanksgiving!.
New HD TB ALL the way! Not sure I get the complaint about the seats. They are very comfortable & overall the TB is a better looking/equipped truck. Great choice.
Seats are fine until you sit in a brand new ford then you realize they are terrible in comparison. Not a major deal though lots of people cry over it to much.
Don't change I've had mostly cummins over the years and bought a zr2 this year and hate this truck. Ram makes a better truck and the cummins is much better than the duramax.
@@ryangansner2162 yeah that's the only reason I didn't stick with Ram was that nothing has changed in years. Then they announced the 8spd and little while after buying this pos.

Don't forget that the SD Tremor has the Raptor style front locker as well. Ford is so far ahead in the truck game. I appreciate the fact you got the Silverado, and I'm looking forward to the videos, though. The F250/F350 XLT Tremor is the way to go IMHO.
They could've saved a ton with a lower trim and still had similar levels of comfort. I never understood the appeal of leather seats or two-zone climate control.
@playthingsracing88 🙄...I've purchased 6 Fords in he last 13 years and never had that issue. Typically, that's said by people who don't understand warranties or who are unreasonable.

Spent the last 38 years getting paid to fix things…planes (American & USAir-ways) trains (Norfolk Southern) cars (Honda & FORD dealers), got furloughed a couple of times. Seen the quality of Boeing - FORD - Toyota - Honda quality go way down along with the competence of technicians repairing all of the aforementioned, there are exceptions, few & far! Everything is over priced & over complicated & difficult to repair. GM products always seem to have taken the cheap way of building, poor quality, poor fit and finish, they haven’t learned anything since the bankruptcy/bailout.
I like how they both still have shifters
I've always been a Ford guy, but the Super Duty is getting long in the tooth on styling and I really wish they would redesign the exterior. I must commend Chevy for the awesome redesigned exterior and I don't know much about the Duramax so I'm anxious to learn all about it. That is one good looking truck!!!! Great choice!
Best decision guys. It was a no brainier. Duramax endurance, can’t wait for some wild towing and off roading.
I have to say, even as a Ford guy, the Chevy looked pretty nice, especially like the heated steering wheel button placement.
Watching Roman attempt to pull out of parking lot in Silverado was painful... 😂😂😂
The entire time I was like why is this dude not just looking at his dash screen 😂. I think the boomer antics makes these guys funny though.
Actually a great looking truck! I've always been partial to Ram Heavy Duties, but this is sweet.
I bought a 2024 2500 ZR2 first Chevy I've owned in 20 years been ford guy my whole life and I love this ZR2. Rides way better than my 22 f250 tremor I had.
You guys nailed it the Silverado HD all the way
Andre and the what is with you and anti matter face palm, priceless!
Glad you guys went with the Chevy
I personally drive a Ford F250 diesel and love the truck! However, I believe the current market is so competitive that a diesel truck buyer would be very pleased with their purchase regardless of which brand they buy! My brother owns a RAM. Although his truck isn't a diesel, I got a ride in it recently and have nothing but a very positive impression of the truck.
Love the decision boys!! I just purchased a 24 3500 LT Slate Grey and I absolutely love it 🙏
What is your payload on that 3500 sir
Your used Toyota Tundra V8 is the best deal today by far. That's why you bought it. ✌🏻
Can't believe how expensive trucks have become.
I hope you don't have to buy one!

Congrats ,,have a Silverado and love auto 4 wheel . Never a problem and my previous Suburban had auto 4 wheel . Have never heard of problems with it .
I might be biased 😎 but I think you all made a GREAT choice. Looking forward to the content with the new truck.
I recently got a 2020 Silverado 1500 with the 3.0 Duramax. Love that 28 mpg.
Surprised y'all didn't look at a GMC AT4 HD
Probably was more expensive and avoided it.
I was thinking the same thing when they were complaining about the lack of interior features of the Chevy.
I like it better than the Chevy but they still made a solid choice.
Maybe there weren't any in stock.
Gmc are always more than chevys
I'm a Mopar guy myself, but the Chev I do like.
I agree with your choice!
Could we get a fleet update with all your new cars and trucks?!?🎉
Congrats boys. Chevy was the right pick this time around. Happy Holidays
Good luck with your Suburban. I think all manufacturers are cheaply built nowadays. I had a 2018 Suburban but got sick of the constant repair bill.
@ that is what is great about having options, what one person values is never going to be the same as the next person.
I wish it was exactly apples to apples. Chevy H.C. And LTZ models have nice seats (heated and air conditioned) I do agree 91k is insane for a truck.
Go for the hd trail boss. All the way
Like a Rock! I have a '24 3500 LTZ and enjoy it.
@@GTOGregorymore like a lump of clay.
I'm O.K. with it. 18,500 is enough of a tow rating. Prices are insane even with the discounts.
If you’re going over 18,500 you really should have a dually
HD ZR2 is a more direct competitor to the SD Tremor. but glad you made the right choice.
that or an LTZ at the minimum......and 4WD auto is standard on both
I have a 2023 Tremor, I had the local Ford put a 3-1/2" leveling kit on it and was able to put 37's on it no rubbing. 💣
I'm glad you're not biased by any one brand. Cheers to your new CHEVY !!! Enjoy!

People complain about the price of a Denali Ultimate, yet I just bought one for less than you could buy that Ford for.
@@erice9536 doesn’t mean you didn’t overpay just mean you fell for the overpriced truck 😂🤦
@@akita989 prices aren’t that bad though can get new gm trucks near what they costed in 2017 except they way nicer now.
@@JoshuaOvermanthey way nicer?
Before seeing what you bought I was praying for the Trailboss
I was really pushing for the ford. But you identified a major issue they have and it's affordability!! I wanted a tremor when I ditched my power wagon, but holy cow there was no dealing! I picked up that used 19 you saw at the ranch and slapped tremor wheels and tires on it and it's perfect!
Same here. But they don't have to do all the additional add-ons with the fifth wheel and bed liner plus that price. I do love the Ford though. Especially the interior if you're going to be doing long road trips
@TheMeanmarine13 yeah my 19 can road trip 12+ hours and not stop except to recycle some water haha! Super comfy!
Got a 250 tremor and I'm very happy
Cool guys! I’m a ford guy but you have to give Chevy a bone every once in a while!
Look at how quiet and nice riding that dinosaur Tundra is. No worries about the motor seizing!
"Sweet sweet tire Andre!" Roman sounded EXACTLY like Tommy when he said that
Great choice. I have the 2024 Chevy 2500 ZR2 with the 6.6 gasser, and paid the same for what you got for the diesel. Congrats...
The Chevy sticker said 19,100lbs gooseneck so it's probably close to the Ford
100%....was on the fence between LT/LTZ and ended up a 24 SLT 2500 duramax optioned with premium plus, X31, 5th wheel pkgs and paid 73k before TTL....
power passenger seat, extended mirrors, digital steering, and 4WD auto I really wanted.....dont care about leather seats one way or the other.....Bose sound is better but not by much
Can’t wait for the remorse to kick in 😝
If you are towing big things over mountains, a diesel is the best thing. On flat land, like Florida, a V8 Tundra is perfect.
@@markspence3750 So it will pull 25,000 to 30,000 pounds?
I’m glad I watched this video. I didn’t know that there was a 2500 Trail Boss.
Ram: sniff sniff, I smell diesel. You were where last night?😜🇨🇦
Great Choice. Love the Trail Boss Trim. Can't wait to see the videos on this one.

🤣🤣🤣 they are flat and uncomfortable. Ram and Ford make way better seats then Gm.
Worked at a gmc dealer for years. The seats are hard as rock after a year. Both are a crap shoot for reliability.

They could've saved a ton with a lower trim and still had similar levels of comfort. I never understood the appeal of leather seats or two-zone climate control.

The same can be said with regards to Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep. FORD is failing to learn from their problems. That all being said, buy older stuff…modify to your needs and live without all the gadgets.
i was a ford guy, ive have owned 5 fords and have since gone to a silverado.
