    Dunno about you guys, but all I can do is admire the sheer determination/stupidity of a people to eat something this fucking poisonous.

    • @Servellion
      @Servellion 8 лет назад +28

      wackpack Disney Eating something this poisonous when the ocean is teeming with so many other sources of non poisonous food is stupid no matter which way you cut it.
      And frankly you sound more butthurt than I do.

    • @Servellion

      ***** Rattlesnakes are venomous, not poisonous, but I doubt you know the difference. You were safe as every bit of the rattlesnake doesn't contain the toxin and even then the toxin in the snake is only deadly when it's introduced directly to the blood stream.
      As they pointed out in the vid, fugu is damn near poisonous to the core. Skin, blood, and organs are saturated with the toxin which actually is a poison meaning eating it is lethal

    • @Servellion
      @Servellion 8 лет назад +10

      ***** Right. What I was talking about was that at some point in the past before this method of preparing them was invented, someone looked at this highly poisonous fish and said "I'mma eat that sonofabitch."
      I'm not saying people are stupid for eating it now, I'm questioning why in the past, they were so damned determined to eat something so deadly. That takes a bit of stupidity/bravery. Imagine how many failed attempts cost people their lives in the past. As I mentioned, even the blood is poisonous and it takes very little to kill a person. That what I was talking about.

      This is true and not only by KFC. chicken is not slaughtered properly that is why more people can get sick even from fresh chicken tainted with bacterias that should have being properly drained if I remember correctly poultry is supposed to be suspended upside down a slit to the throat the animal bleeds and dies in about a minute . In mass productions such measures are not taken which should be the government does not protect us rather they turn a blind eye to improper handling

    Why are you guys hating particularly on Japan? This happens all over the world, in America, in England, in Russia, it doesn't matter where in the world you are they still kill fish... I have been a fisher pretty much all my life, and let me tell you that there is no more humane slaughtering process than with fish. They swim freely, rather than cows and pigs being bred in small cages and living in filth. They are also so stupid that they don't know what's going on. Anyone who has fished in their life will know that fish are incredibly dumb. They only act on instinct. When a fish is pulled out of the water it will still try to swim away, it has no idea what's happening. And it should be known by now that even though the fish is moving after they stick the knife in it's head it's dead. They stick the knife in there to puncture the tiny brain, killing it instantly, that's why they don't cut the head off. That and also to keep the flavour. Sweden and Norway are also a fish nations, we eat fish pretty much at least once a week, and our fish killing techniques are the same as these peoples. There are videos of Swedish fishermen with incredible skill showing how they kill and filet a fish in under 10 seconds just like these Japanese chefs, but instead of people in the comments arguing over how horrible it is to kill virtually retarded animals they praise the fishermen for their skills. Fish is part of Japanese and northern European life, if it was as common in America then I bet nobody would imagine bothering with talking about morals.

    • @imaquickscopa
      @imaquickscopa 10 лет назад +12

      I didn't feel like reading the whole thing since you stated your question first, with that being said, I didn't even think about the killings until I read the comments.....It's nothing to me really, we get live worms, torture them with pointy curved needles (sometimes we rip them in half), get the fish to eat these suffering worms to stab them with the pointy cured needle. Take them above water and throw them in bags until they slowly suffocate and die, to then just cut them open, chop their heads off, take out their organs, and cook em. I'm an American btw, although it's kind of sad, it doesn't overcome the feeling of starving to death.
      People may hate on Japan, but they should take a good look of what's on their plates and how it got there, and if they're vegans, I'll just say that plants are alive as well. If we don't eat, we'll die or be eaten, simple as that.

      XxHalles133769xX Im American, and i have to agree. I grew up in the Caribbean, so i fished all my life. I honestly cant understand what's everyone's problem with this. A spike to the brain is about as humane as it gets.

      In Sushi Fugu is absolutely amazing. Such a clean flavor and texture which pairs so nicely with sushi rice. It's the perfect fish for sushi in my opinion. It's also good fried. But the thing is if you're just eating is as a sashimi like how it's traditionally served, it's not that exciting.

      Look, it';s not like they only eat fugu anyways, but that comparison was just absolutely horrible. I could be a smartass and say "well we chose wisely not to pick a fish that would kill us". Your comparison is basically comparing an edible fish.. to a fish that could be edible if one prepares it with not even the smallest mistakes (otherwise death).

      +a-z chelsea Some people say that fugu fish most delicious fish among all the fish. Fugu fish meat was more tender, chewy, and more delicious but it takes the ability to cut a high level for separating meat and poison because if a little careless, poison it will stick to the meat.

    フグは食べたことが無いです。危険だからというよりは、値段的に手の届かない食物でありました。このビデオに外国人のコメントがいっぱいついていますが、鯨やイルカと同じような感じです。日本の食文化を理解しようとはせず、頭から日本人の感性や食文化を否定する西洋人が多いです。

      いつになったら、自分達の思想・慣習・価値観を押し付ける事で
      揉め事になる原因を作っているのが理解できるのでしょうか。
      グリーンピースしかりシーシェパードしかりと。
      よくよく考えれば植物も生き物です。
      肉・魚などを食するのが野蛮と言いますが、
      植物(小麦・ジャガイモ・葉野菜など)も元を突き詰めれば生き物
      です。
      掲げているスローガンと矛盾していると感じるのは私だけで
      しょうか。

      西洋人の味覚は4種類。
      甘い、塩辛い、ピリッと辛い、酸っぱい。
      中国人の味覚は5種類。
      西洋人の味覚に、苦いが加わる。
      日本人の味覚は6種類。
      中国人の持つ5種類に「旨い」が加わる。
      西洋人には、理解出来ない味覚の表現です。

      たぶん、東洋医学と西洋医学の違いを見ると
      西洋人と自分たちの考え方の違いがよく判りますね笑
      悪いところは全部切り取ってしまえ・・・の西洋医学
      悪いところがあっても、自然治癒させようとする東洋医学
      自然界の頂点に立っていると思っている西洋人
      人間は自然界の中の一固体だと思っている東洋人
      って言うか、東洋人の中でも日本人がこの考え方を強く持っているとも言われていますね。
      いずれにせよ、キツネ狩はするくせに、魚は取るなの西洋人ですからね・・・
      お話にもならないレベルですよwww
      お隣の連中と、さほど変わりが無いと私は思ってますけどねw

    Japanese should have genetically modified a new non-poisonous specie of Puff fishes. The demand clearly is there.

      +Stephen Kong yes, it's obvious, but mysterious how none of this is mentioned...maybe it's kinda like a drug mafia

      +Stephen Kong The demand is there because a proper cut of the meat leaves just enough poison to give you a small high.

      +Allen S THIS, this answer alone makes sense why they would even eat it if it's bland anyway.

      +Stephen Kong Fugu get their poison from bacteria in their prey. So some are indeed farm raising fugu with non poisonous feed, making non-poisonous fugu. The issue is that everyone's skeptical if the fish truly is non-poisonous, it's also hindered by fugu laws. There's even people who prefer the original perhaps for the thrill or that it's more natural. Obviously the trained chefs would prefer the natural fugu as well, it's their job after all. Despite that, non-poisonous fugu has actually been selling for a couple years now though like the original, it's also expensive.
