Also being a lefty i started with the gen 4 i found i didnt like the mag release being on the right side (for goofy shooters such as myself lol) so i swapped it back to the left side. I eventually went down to a gen 3. Ive shot right handed firearms left handed my whole life. Ive learned to manipulate the weapon to lefty needs haha. Cant wait to try out the gen 5 i havent had a chance to check one out yet. And also to the comment about the gen 4 n 5 being illegal in cali i was unaware that was a thing 😔. I knew they had the oversized mag bans but glock gen 4 n 5s man thats so silly. Get out of there and somewhere with less strict gunlaws my friend.

I've been carrying a glock 19 gen 3 in my pocket for years now. And shoot it often. I have yet to have any malfunctions. It eats any ammo you can throw at it. And yes in my pocket no holster! Disagree - buy the Glock 23 in .40 cal, then get a conversion barrel for ~$120 (Lone Wolf, Storm Lake, etc.) to convert to 9mm rounds - now you have BOTH a Glock 23 and a Glock 19. Buy another conversion barrel for .357 Sig for another ~$120 and you also have a Glock 32. Then buy the Advantage Arms slide and mag kit for ~$300 to shoot 22lr (note that this is now rimfire vs. center fire) and you also have a Glock 44. Starting with a Glock 23 gives you 4 calibers in one frame - the ultimate lego gun!!!
You can still go down to the 22lr starting with a Glock 19 to shoot much cheaper practice rounds with low (no) recoil - good for new shooters - but you can't go up in caliber because of the size of the hole in the nose of the frame. 9mm is good for self-defense, but for a large assailant .40 cal has a whole lot more stopping power, which is why it's used by FBI and state and local police, as well as park rangers (think bear and cougar defense)
Just an opinion, my two cents

went with the Glock 23 for new edc because of current ammo problems and 9mm is the hardest to get now. Def more snappy round, I'm about the same accuracy between the 9mm & 40sw, faster shooting takes a hit however. Just recently got a tungsten guide rod and it def made a difference in taming th muzzle flip. Couple hundred rounds through it w new guide rod and I'm feeling jst as comfortble w it as the 9mm G17. My Beretta Brigadier is still a my "racecar" shooting weapon. For me nothing shoots faster and accurate as the 92. Not the easiest conceal carry however. Practice makes perfect :) GREAT VIDS!

I personally am not a big fan of any red dot on any pistol or tactical light on a pistol. The only replacement that I made when I purchased my G21 was the sights. My personal opinion I cannot see buying a 600 dollar pistol & putting 1,000 dollar worth of upgrades to it. If I was that inclined to do so why not just purchase a Wilson Combat or a Staccato to begin with?? Yes I can see putting a red dot on a rifle or shotgun!! Just my opinion.

Hi jerdog3. Here are my thoughts on this. As for range ammo, if it is for target at shorter range, nearly anything that is commonly found and cheap will work from 115-147 grain. If you are shooting reactive targets, I prefer the heavier 147 Grain bullets. As for defense/carry, The Federal HST, Spear Gold Dot, and Underwood Ammo - all in +p and 124-147 grain is what I prefer.

Like I'm watching a gun video from 1988 lol Granted, I am a Glock fanboy, I have 9 different Glocks wih my primary carry being my modded Gen 4 G19 (stippled grip with no finger grooves, sights, ghost connector, etc). The G19 is certainly size efficient, amazing size for a 15+1. However, with that said, most modern handguns can do what I Glock can, in terms of durability, quality. Maybe not size wise but still, the M&P, CZ, Sig, HK, etc, etc are durable and quality, Glock's equal in many ways.

Az Trigger: Thank you for your video. I,ve got several Glocks, included Glock 19, Gen 3. This last one exploded in my hands.
I,ve read and heard a lot about. Glock is a good pistol for military, but not for civilian and sport use. Us civilians, enjoy spending 400 rounds at the range. We cannot afford other that reloaded ammunition, and you well know that Glocks (particularly Glock 19)do not accept handloaded ammunition. I,ve got a kaboom with my Glock 19. I tested the same handloaded 9mm. ammunition in my Beretta 92, in my Browning Hi-Power and in my Sig. No problem at all with those last 9mm. pistols. That's a real handicap for sport use of Glocks.

Personal experience with a friend who refused to clean his glock 19 and had consistent misfires. We thought it was bad ammo...... nope wasn't the ammo. I pulled apart his glock and found out that he had gunk built up inside the striker pin housing. No amount of ejection of ammo was going to fix that problem.
