I’ve owned a few CZ75B’s , a Sar B6P , two Tristar S-120’s and have fired hundreds if not thousands of rounds threw all and never had a problem with the guns ( I have had bad ammo that caused a malfunction, but nothing due to the CZ 75B or there clones) Being a baby boomer I have had a gun in my hands for a few more decades than most ( I’m a old fart).
Reliability is very important to me. My Smith & Wesson 357 magnum revolver was my first reliable handgun. The Heckler & Koch 45 USP and 9mm USP are my current reliable handguns.

Totally agree about the HK Mk 23. It’s an absolute beast of a handgun. Back in the day, we ODA guys were hoping to get these. Apparently, at least in the early 2000’s, these were more pushed towards special applications within NAVSPECWAR and not USASFC. We eventually got a load of 1911’s from out of “deep storage” as a “low vis” carry option to our standard issue M9s. The M9 was still a great secondary for us “normal” team guys. Love the channel and your recent co-labs with MrGuns. Also my 6” Python would like to have a word…….lol. RLTW/DOL🇺🇸🫡
I carry THE LTT Elite Compact and it love it. It is way better than the Beretta M9 I was issued in the Army. But like Mr. Guns N GEAR stated, those were abused, not cared for/maintained and needed to be overhauled.

Beretta testing of the last batch of M9s delivered to the US military showed ~19k MRBS. So basically if maintained they run without malfunction until the locking block breaks.
I broke "3" locking blocks in the M9 Beretta's , how can they say that with a strait face . Oh , that's right Beretta gives more free guns to reviewers than any other manufacturer.
The crap ergonomics of the Beretta and the locking block breakage should have stopped this one dead in its tracks. I was an instructor for couple years total in the USMC and as a contractor for Active Duty guys. I personally witnessed locking block failure every training evolution. I'd pack several in my armorers box so I could get the shooters back on the line after failures.
I was surprised by the agreement between HO and Madman that Glock is a poor suppressor host. That’s not my experience but I haven’t shot 100 rounds suppressed total. Outlaw can you give us more data? Or a demo?
@@ElDuffman The 629 is a bit ferocious, definitely nastier than the 686, especially with wood grips but not so bad with good rubber grips. When I shoot the 629 it's usually 1 cylinder of magnums and several cylinders of special. Ditto for my 6" 686.
My father worked at the HK factory for a while in the U.S got to put alot of HK guns together and shoot them. Mp7 ect. They had a massive reject pile of frames, receivers, parts ect. If they were out of tolerance even by a hair. Off to the crusher to get recycled. Their extremely high standards, I believe lead to these results. I was so jealous of the things he got to shoot and make!
Even though that sounds good... the concept of needing extremely perfect tolerances indicates your design is poor....Glock pumps out guns like a Mo Fo and they just run... Interchangeable parts... anyone can do a complete tear down easily... I shot a G36 while training with the Bundeswehr... it sucked. I guess that's why they say to never meet your heroes lol

Agreed. I had an M9 and that thing jammed at least once every 100 rounds... maybe an anomaly. My 220s, 229s, and 226s never jam. Wish I could say the same for my 320s and 365s, albeit a little more picky with ammo and still great firearms.
The first gun I bought was a 686, the 7-round, stainless, 6 inch barrel. I love that thing. The second gun I bought was a Sig P229. Both are flawless machines. The Sig will feed and fire any type of round, mixed and matched steel case, hollow point, ball, anything and it just goes bang bang bang.
I was an armorer in an Aviation unit when the Beretta was adopted, you never saw a happier group of pilots! Giving up those old S&W model 10’s I can understand it!
When I was a cableman, I had a customer who was with the local Sheriff's Dept. We got to talking guns and he decided to show me the gun he used as his bedside gun. It was a Mark 23. Such a cool gun, and I felt really honored that he felt that good about me (total stranger to him an hour prior) that he'd share that with me. That was a good visit.
I would say the same for my P229 in 9mm, which like the HK USP was designed in 1992 for the .40. I've owned a P229 .40 w/ a .357 Sig conversion in standard Nitron and a separate 9mm Legion, and have never had a malfunction except for 1 failure to extract due to bad casing in easily over 15,000 rounds between both.
I've only shot a couple hundred rounds through my p320 and it only "malfunctioned" once and that was the first break in shot after that it shoots regular and hollow points like butter. Only complaint is trying to jam that 15th round in the mag
They’ve been put through military trials a couple of times and never seem to end up in the top 3. Great guns, more than reliable enough for 99% of us (I carry a shield plus all the time). Just not quite there compared to others on the list.
Money comes into play with military trials as well. SIG makes great firearms but I think money and politics really played a huge role with the trials. Glock was the other contender at the end and they know how to play politics and through money (or in this case discounts) around. Glock got their foot in the door with LE and give them great deals. They dominate LE not because they’re better than the rest, they’re cheaper than the rest and familiar. The M&P has been proving very reliable and even outperforming Glock in Garand Thumbs tests and he’s a Glock guy. Granted it’s a sample size of one.
REally, a bad rep for what? I've seen even revolvers jam and they are commonly thought of as "JAM PROOF". I have seen my .44 Charter Arms bulldog jam - when the recoil of the previous 3 shots caused the bullet to somehow walk itself out the end of the cartridge case! And my Ruger GP101 got hot when I fired 4 cylinder loads and the parts would not turn. I swear I wish I was making this up but I'm not, REVOLVERS CAN AND DO JAM. But the point is, never had a jam in my Beretta 92 in over 1,000 rounds.
In my opinion, when it comes to high cap .45 ACP, FNP/FNX 45 are absolutely amazing! On the aspect of: reliability, capacity, accuracy, and recoil. Perfection!

I carry a Beretta 92 fs centurion... Never ever had problems with the safety. Never went to an unwanted state and really easy to toggle IF YOU KEEP IT CLEAN AND LUBRICATED! Works wonderfully well.
I feel like they're gauging endurance and durability more than reliability. While these go hand in hand, the M&P is proven, but not as fielded. It's been carried by police but not in combat. Not through mud and sand and snow and ice. I know Garand Thumb showed the M&P would power through those things, even better than some of the guns mentioned here, but his tests were also extreme examples. And those test do not represent long term endurance. While I have no proof, I would bet that frozen again and again, the Mark 23 would long outlast an M&P's springs and parts.
I've used professionally Glocks since 1986 when all they imported was the G17. Since then I've used the G21, G31 and the G45. My current EDC is the G45 MOS. I've never had a single malfunction that wasn't ammo related. Another malfunction was my fault as I was using a minus connector and a 3 lb. striker spring. Malfunction was only on Winchester ammo that use hard primers. I've used Glocks in my LEO and military days and also as a DOD Security contractor. No issues whatsoever. The only two semi-auto handguns I own that I've put enough rounds through to put on a list like this would be my H&K USP (.45) and Sig P226 (9mm). They're the only two handguns I own that have had absolutely ZERO failures of any kind. I do have a few that are borderline but I haven't put enough rounds through them to call it just yet: H&K P30 (9mm), CZ P-01 (9mm), and Springfield XDS (.45). From memory I don't think I've had any issues with those three, just haven't shot them as much. My only Glock is a 23 and I've had a few stovepipes over the years, might just be a .40 issue though.
Sig Macro and 19X are my cc's, and CZ P-10F is my nightstand gun. AR15 with PWS long stroke piston upper/Windham lower, is my primary. I switch between the 19X and P10 for my secondary weapon on my gun belt.
My grandfather bought two 686 duty pistols (a 4" and 6") from a retired LEO back in the early 90s. That LEO claimed that he had over 100,000 rounds through each of them and they still looked almost new.
My M&P 2.0 didnt make the cut. Lol. I know what it can do and trust my life with it. Great videos Mike & Chris. You guys work great together and both bring a lot of knowledge to the table. 🇺🇸
Probably because the 2.0 isn't really that old so it doesn't have the track record that these guns do. All of the guns they talked about in this video are decades old. The 2.0 only came out in 2017.
@@mikewithers299 Like another comment said, if we're going by that standard, then we would have to take the glock out. It has many generations as well. The orginal M&P came out in what 2005? It has been proven reliable by many police agencies who have adopted it throughout the years!
@jasonroberts9357 yup I get it. That's why I joked with them a little. I've had M&P 1.0 and 2.0's they are work horses like Glocks. We live in a good time when "must" brands have a short but good track record on their newer models. I love my BHP but she old and still reliable.
The 92 is massively underrated mostly because of service members and their wore out M9s, which I get, the ones I carried early in the 2000’s had issues, but it’s great to see LTT bringing it back, I carry a centurion at work now that I have a choice.
Kinda. The M9 I carried was extremely reliable and accurate, but those weren’t the issues. The giant grip, ridiculously long trigger travel, poor ergonomics of the safety, and the use of poorly performing ball ammo were all big problems compared to other guns (and ammo). The mag issue was a lowest bidder snafu, not the fault of Beretta.
@@woodystube1000 and that’s the thing, the ball ammo used in the M9 was nothing special, it’s just 124 +P FMJ, it cycles standard JHP ammo just fine, the safety shouldn’t be used as a safety, just a decocker, if you did use it as a safety so many people tried to manipulate it incorrectly causing them to thing it wasn’t ergonomic. The grips, well thin panels and now the X series fix that, the long travel for DA, that’s just a shooter skill problem. So basically the issues you mentioned either aren’t issues with the 92 or are no longer issues with the 92.
@@ShawnHinck I seem to have struck a nerve by insulting a gun you obviously have a close relationship with. My apologies, that wasn't my intent. I was specifically referring to my experience with my issued M9 in the 90's. When I too separated and had a choice of what to carry at work, the M9 (or any 92) was not on my list for a host of reasons. Even then there were MUCH better choices for duty weapons, some of the reasons for which I listed above. If the gun fits your hand, you don't find it silly to pretend the safety is not a safety and is just a decocker, and you don't mind training with a gun-specific long trigger pull, great! I'm not trying to talk you out of your preferences. I was making the point that, compared to other similar pistols of the time such as the P226, the M9 had some design/ergo issues for the masses. My "kinda" comment was because the M9 flaws I mentioned are design issues, and not a result of the issued pistols being ridden hard and put away wet. The M9 will always have a place in my collection, but not in my duty holster. Ammo selection is a completely separate issue that I only mentioned because it was part of the whole experience at the time. It's all love, my brother!

But you kinda prove what I’m saying, the 92 gets a bad rap because of the M9 crowd….

Thank you for the info on the difficulty on suppressing Glocks. I did not know that. I have been struggling to find a suppressor or compensator that I can get to work on my Glock without having stove pipes or failures to extract.

One of my main reasons for keeping my M9 was the fact that you could put a can on it and it stays relatively flat versus other handguns due to that barrel
My 2004ish 92FS has well over 4000 rounds on all original internal components. No rocks in my trigger, I field strip and clean at least once every 500 rounds. Has never had a failure using any ammo put through it. Aluminum, steel, brass, and all of those in HP and different weights and mystery reloads from gun shows.
What do you think of the Beretta PX4 full size? Ive carried mine for about eight years everyday. Very accurate never had a ftf and ive put almost 4000 rounds through it. Maybe ive been lucky but its been great for me. Love your channel .Thanks for all your hard work.
Both have videos on it and liked it. Soft shooting, extremely reliable. Beretta even thinks the PX4 full size is on par or more durable than the 92. Great gun. Look up Ernest Langdon’s review of the PX4 if you haven’t, pretty cool.
That 686 is beautiful. I found a 586 no dash, blued steel, 8.375 in barrel, custom wood grip. The gun is in almost perfect condition. It's one of my few pride and joys in life. Happy shooting my doppelganger.
@@ElainesDomain holy shit man. I knew they did a couple of the 586 nickel plated. That's pretty rare too man. That's quite the find bro. I was looking for an 8 inch+ barrel length. Thing is most companies these days just don't make them. There are some that do 7 inch. Including the 3.5.7. line of the 686+ Smith & Wesson. Wesson. Although feedback to the grapevine is their quality is not good. Dan Wesson has an 8in as well. Taurus raging Hunter, ect. So I figured my best bet was finding an oldy in good condition. To be honest man I've lucked out. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't super expensive either. I consider myself to be a lucky man. The only did the nickel-plated for the first run right?
Just to clarify, I haven't heard anything bad about the regular 686 Plus model that's for sale right. I'm talking about the 3.5.7. , which came in three inch 5 inch and seven inch barrel lengths, and came with the crappy wood handle, along with the one somebody tried to sell me that I had no finish the last inch and a half to two inches of the barrel.(brand new).
I was one of those Army lifers that HATED the M9. I never had to fight any handgun so hard to qualify expert. Why? I do not have Chris sized meat hooks. I have small hands. In order to properly put the pad of my index finger on the trigger I was forced to rotate my hand closer to the trigger guard. Were all the M9s worn out? Hell yes. Were they poorly maintained? Yes. I only had one real good armorer in the Army infantry in 28yrs. ! They were like hens teeth. Very hard to find. After I retired my son let me shoot his G19. No problem with that, I did quite well. He wanted to sell it so I bought it. That has been a while ago and I still carry it. I did put some decent sights on it, the XS Big Dot set. For carry purposes, fantastic upgrade. As for the other pistols mentioned, no experience there so no comment. I did read about how HK does make never fail torture tested firearms. Again, as mentioned, I do not need that price. If you like the M9 style guns, by all means, I support you. I have friends I have known forever and they like them a ton. To that I give a thumbs up.

I love the Berettas I've used. I actually just want to trade my m9a4 for the 92x performance just because it's more up my alley and really have no complaints about that. The m9s and 92s I've played with are so smooth. I have a soft spot for the mk23 so I love seeing that mentioned lol. I'd love to have one of those.
The performance barrel I’ve heard tends to crack at 20,000 rounds. Dude at Gunthots channel ran one and it also didn’t eat ammo as well as a Shadow 2 which is surprising. Not bad but the other versions of Beretta are allegedly more reliable.

i subscribed both of you comrades, i bought my c9 high-point US made 9mm because of our influence, now , its my favorite edc/ccw along with 3 mags of 10 bullets each! i do have my revolver too model 38spl, always on my pick-up truck for back up both of these are reliable base on my usage! honest outlaw& mrgunsngear both No.1!
M&P 2.0 comes to mind for me. Seeing Garand Thumbs torture tested the 2.0 and it came out on top against several high dollar pistol’s. Even the Glock didn’t have a chance against it. Let’s not forget this other channel that goes by the name Honest Outlaw when he left the 2.0 outside in the winter weather for several months picked it up and yes it still went still went bang. This pistol should have made the list.
Well done gents glad a couple of my tried and trues mad it on there, never getting rid of the .45 USP , not based on just it's outstanding performance but as they stated the look of prime craftsmanship
the beretta in 45ACP would be cool, I believe they used to have a CZ 97 version that they no longer make. I thought S&W would be on the list from Garand Thumb video I have seen.
Sadly CZ stopped the 97, but I got one just at the end. Fantastic pistol. One of my local shops just got a slightly used 97 in and there were a few potential buyers all circling it. I am sure one of them went home with it.
Glock 22 and the Smith & Wesson MNP original. Neither are my favorites autoloaders however, both have never failed to fire regardless of condition for me. Even subpar unreliable ammo that made other of my favorite guns fail those two shot everything.
I changed out the stock OEM barrel of my Gen 4 Glock 20 with a threaded KKM barrel, put 2000 rounds through it, & was incredibly accurate and reliable. Then I put 2 port comps on it as well as my 2nd Gen CZ P10C with its stock threaded barrel, took them to the range and had multiple FTF issues with both of them where none existed before. Taking off the comps returned both guns to 100% reliable.
Maybe a hot take but I think experimenting with comps is fun because they do malfunction and it gives you a little more work to do troubleshooting them and trying new parts. I don't even care if my play guns aren't 100% reliable, clearing malfunctions is fun
Definitely agree the Mk 23 is extremely reliable. I would honestly rank the S&W M&P 9mm slightly higher than the Glock though. I've owned a few of each and put several thousand rounds through each one. The S&W's by a small margin out did my Glocks in reliability.

The first gun I bought was a 686, the 7-round, stainless, 6 inch barrel. I love that thing. The second gun I bought was a Sig P229. Both are flawless machines. The Sig will feed and fire any type of round, mixed and matched steel case, hollow point, ball, anything and it just goes bang bang bang.
I was an armorer in an Aviation unit when the Beretta was adopted, you never saw a happier group of pilots! Giving up those old S&W model 10’s I can understand it!
When I was a cableman, I had a customer who was with the local Sheriff's Dept. We got to talking guns and he decided to show me the gun he used as his bedside gun. It was a Mark 23. Such a cool gun, and I felt really honored that he felt that good about me (total stranger to him an hour prior) that he'd share that with me. That was a good visit.

Never had a malfunction in my P226 is 10 years of ownership. I have 40 S&W, 357 Sig, and 9mm barrels/slide assemblies. No issues with any of them.
I would say the same for my P229 in 9mm, which like the HK USP was designed in 1992 for the .40. I've owned a P229 .40 w/ a .357 Sig conversion in standard Nitron and a separate 9mm Legion, and have never had a malfunction except for 1 failure to extract due to bad casing in easily over 15,000 rounds between both.
My P226 is nowhere near as reliable as my USP.
My M9 jammed at least once every 100 rounds and I babied that thing. My 220s (10mm & .45), 229s (.357 Sig & 9mm), and 226s (.40 & 9mm) don't jam.
I've only shot a couple hundred rounds through my p320 and it only "malfunctioned" once and that was the first break in shot after that it shoots regular and hollow points like butter. Only complaint is trying to jam that 15th round in the mag

They’ve been put through military trials a couple of times and never seem to end up in the top 3.
Great guns, more than reliable enough for 99% of us (I carry a shield plus all the time). Just not quite there compared to others on the list.
Money comes into play with military trials as well. SIG makes great firearms but I think money and politics really played a huge role with the trials. Glock was the other contender at the end and they know how to play politics and through money (or in this case discounts) around. Glock got their foot in the door with LE and give them great deals. They dominate LE not because they’re better than the rest, they’re cheaper than the rest and familiar. The M&P has been proving very reliable and even outperforming Glock in Garand Thumbs tests and he’s a Glock guy. Granted it’s a sample size of one.
Love that y’all did a collaboration and got together. This needs to happen more often throughout the entire Gun tuber community.

The correct model name is either M9 or 92FS. No such thing as an M92.
REally, a bad rep for what? I've seen even revolvers jam and they are commonly thought of as "JAM PROOF". I have seen my .44 Charter Arms bulldog jam - when the recoil of the previous 3 shots caused the bullet to somehow walk itself out the end of the cartridge case! And my Ruger GP101 got hot when I fired 4 cylinder loads and the parts would not turn. I swear I wish I was making this up but I'm not, REVOLVERS CAN AND DO JAM. But the point is, never had a jam in my Beretta 92 in over 1,000 rounds.
In my opinion, when it comes to high cap .45 ACP, FNP/FNX 45 are absolutely amazing! On the aspect of: reliability, capacity, accuracy, and recoil. Perfection!

I carry a Beretta 92 fs centurion... Never ever had problems with the safety. Never went to an unwanted state and really easy to toggle IF YOU KEEP IT CLEAN AND LUBRICATED! Works wonderfully well.
Surprised to not see the M&P 2.0 here after all the tests various channels have done on them.
My two models certainly have never ever failed me. I would swear by them. (Shield Plus and a full-sized .40 Cal)
I feel like they're gauging endurance and durability more than reliability. While these go hand in hand, the M&P is proven, but not as fielded. It's been carried by police but not in combat. Not through mud and sand and snow and ice. I know Garand Thumb showed the M&P would power through those things, even better than some of the guns mentioned here, but his tests were also extreme examples. And those test do not represent long term endurance. While I have no proof, I would bet that frozen again and again, the Mark 23 would long outlast an M&P's springs and parts.

I've used professionally Glocks since 1986 when all they imported was the G17. Since then I've used the G21, G31 and the G45. My current EDC is the G45 MOS. I've never had a single malfunction that wasn't ammo related. Another malfunction was my fault as I was using a minus connector and a 3 lb. striker spring. Malfunction was only on Winchester ammo that use hard primers. I've used Glocks in my LEO and military days and also as a DOD Security contractor. No issues whatsoever. The only two semi-auto handguns I own that I've put enough rounds through to put on a list like this would be my H&K USP (.45) and Sig P226 (9mm). They're the only two handguns I own that have had absolutely ZERO failures of any kind. I do have a few that are borderline but I haven't put enough rounds through them to call it just yet: H&K P30 (9mm), CZ P-01 (9mm), and Springfield XDS (.45). From memory I don't think I've had any issues with those three, just haven't shot them as much. My only Glock is a 23 and I've had a few stovepipes over the years, might just be a .40 issue though.

Sig Macro and 19X are my cc's, and CZ P-10F is my nightstand gun. AR15 with PWS long stroke piston upper/Windham lower, is my primary. I switch between the 19X and P10 for my secondary weapon on my gun belt.

My grandfather bought two 686 duty pistols (a 4" and 6") from a retired LEO back in the early 90s. That LEO claimed that he had over 100,000 rounds through each of them and they still looked almost new.

Probably because the 2.0 isn't really that old so it doesn't have the track record that these guns do. All of the guns they talked about in this video are decades old. The 2.0 only came out in 2017.

@jasonroberts9357 yup I get it. That's why I joked with them a little. I've had M&P 1.0 and 2.0's they are work horses like Glocks. We live in a good time when "must" brands have a short but good track record on their newer models. I love my BHP but she old and still reliable.

The 92 is massively underrated mostly because of service members and their wore out M9s, which I get, the ones I carried early in the 2000’s had issues, but it’s great to see LTT bringing it back, I carry a centurion at work now that I have a choice.
Kinda. The M9 I carried was extremely reliable and accurate, but those weren’t the issues. The giant grip, ridiculously long trigger travel, poor ergonomics of the safety, and the use of poorly performing ball ammo were all big problems compared to other guns (and ammo). The mag issue was a lowest bidder snafu, not the fault of Beretta.
@@woodystube1000 and that’s the thing, the ball ammo used in the M9 was nothing special, it’s just 124 +P FMJ, it cycles standard JHP ammo just fine, the safety shouldn’t be used as a safety, just a decocker, if you did use it as a safety so many people tried to manipulate it incorrectly causing them to thing it wasn’t ergonomic. The grips, well thin panels and now the X series fix that, the long travel for DA, that’s just a shooter skill problem. So basically the issues you mentioned either aren’t issues with the 92 or are no longer issues with the 92.

I was specifically referring to my experience with my issued M9 in the 90's. When I too separated and had a choice of what to carry at work, the M9 (or any 92) was not on my list for a host of reasons. Even then there were MUCH better choices for duty weapons, some of the reasons for which I listed above. If the gun fits your hand, you don't find it silly to pretend the safety is not a safety and is just a decocker, and you don't mind training with a gun-specific long trigger pull, great! I'm not trying to talk you out of your preferences. I was making the point that, compared to other similar pistols of the time such as the P226, the M9 had some design/ergo issues for the masses. My "kinda" comment was because the M9 flaws I mentioned are design issues, and not a result of the issued pistols being ridden hard and put away wet. The M9 will always have a place in my collection, but not in my duty holster. Ammo selection is a completely separate issue that I only mentioned because it was part of the whole experience at the time. It's all love, my brother!

Thank you for the info on the difficulty on suppressing Glocks. I did not know that. I have been struggling to find a suppressor or compensator that I can get to work on my Glock without having stove pipes or failures to extract.

One of my main reasons for keeping my M9 was the fact that you could put a can on it and it stays relatively flat versus other handguns due to that barrel

My 2004ish 92FS has well over 4000 rounds on all original internal components. No rocks in my trigger, I field strip and clean at least once every 500 rounds. Has never had a failure using any ammo put through it. Aluminum, steel, brass, and all of those in HP and different weights and mystery reloads from gun shows.

What do you think of the Beretta PX4 full size? Ive carried mine for about eight years everyday. Very accurate never had a ftf and ive put almost 4000 rounds through it. Maybe ive been lucky but its been great for me.

That 686 is beautiful. I found a 586 no dash, blued steel, 8.375 in barrel, custom wood grip. The gun is in almost perfect condition. It's one of my few pride and joys in life. Happy shooting my doppelganger.

@@ElainesDomain holy shit man. I knew they did a couple of the 586 nickel plated. That's pretty rare too man. That's quite the find bro. I was looking for an 8 inch+ barrel length. Thing is most companies these days just don't make them. There are some that do 7 inch. Including the 3.5.7. line of the 686+ Smith & Wesson. Wesson. Although feedback to the grapevine is their quality is not good. Dan Wesson has an 8in as well. Taurus raging Hunter, ect. So I figured my best bet was finding an oldy in good condition. To be honest man I've lucked out. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't super expensive either. I consider myself to be a lucky man. The only did the nickel-plated for the first run right?
Just to clarify, I haven't heard anything bad about the regular 686 Plus model that's for sale right. I'm talking about the 3.5.7. , which came in three inch 5 inch and seven inch barrel lengths, and came with the crappy wood handle, along with the one somebody tried to sell me that I had no finish the last inch and a half to two inches of the barrel.(brand new).
Shout-out to the Beretta being used by Andy Brown to stop an active shooter in 1994. 2/4 shots fired hit at 70 yards, and one was a headshot.

I was one of those Army lifers that HATED the M9. I never had to fight any handgun so hard to qualify expert. Why? I do not have Chris sized meat hooks. I have small hands. In order to properly put the pad of my index finger on the trigger I was forced to rotate my hand closer to the trigger guard. Were all the M9s worn out? Hell yes. Were they poorly maintained? Yes. I only had one real good armorer in the Army infantry in 28yrs. ! They were like hens teeth. Very hard to find. After I retired my son let me shoot his G19. No problem with that, I did quite well. He wanted to sell it so I bought it. That has been a while ago and I still carry it. I did put some decent sights on it, the XS Big Dot set. For carry purposes, fantastic upgrade. As for the other pistols mentioned, no experience there so no comment. I did read about how HK does make never fail torture tested firearms. Again, as mentioned, I do not need that price. If you like the M9 style guns, by all means, I support you. I have friends I have known forever and they like them a ton. To that I give a thumbs up.

I love the Berettas I've used. I actually just want to trade my m9a4 for the 92x performance just because it's more up my alley and really have no complaints about that. The m9s and 92s I've played with are so smooth. I have a soft spot for the mk23 so I love seeing that mentioned lol. I'd love to have one of those.

The performance barrel I’ve heard tends to crack at 20,000 rounds. Dude at Gunthots channel ran one and it also didn’t eat ammo as well as a Shadow 2 which is surprising. Not bad but the other versions of Beretta are allegedly more reliable.

i subscribed both of you comrades, i bought my c9 high-point US made 9mm because of our influence, now , its my favorite edc/ccw along with 3 mags of 10 bullets each! i do have my revolver too model 38spl, always on my pick-up truck for back up both of these are reliable base on my usage! honest outlaw& mrgunsngear both No.1!

M&P 2.0 comes to mind for me. Seeing Garand Thumbs torture tested the 2.0 and it came out on top against several high dollar pistol’s. Even the Glock didn’t have a chance against it. Let’s not forget this other channel that goes by the name Honest Outlaw when he left the 2.0 outside in the winter weather for several months picked it up and yes it still went still went bang. This pistol should have made the list.

the beretta in 45ACP would be cool, I believe they used to have a CZ 97 version that they no longer make. I thought S&W would be on the list from Garand Thumb video I have seen.
Sadly CZ stopped the 97, but I got one just at the end. Fantastic pistol. One of my local shops just got a slightly used 97 in and there were a few potential buyers all circling it. I am sure one of them went home with it.
Would be interesting to hear a conversation on your favorite semi auto rifles. Ar/Ak, 5.56/7.62, 300 blk etc.

Glock 22 and the Smith & Wesson MNP original. Neither are my favorites autoloaders however, both have never failed to fire regardless of condition for me. Even subpar unreliable ammo that made other of my favorite guns fail those two shot everything.
I changed out the stock OEM barrel of my Gen 4 Glock 20 with a threaded KKM barrel, put 2000 rounds through it, & was incredibly accurate and reliable. Then I put 2 port comps on it as well as my 2nd Gen CZ P10C with its stock threaded barrel, took them to the range and had multiple FTF issues with both of them where none existed before. Taking off the comps returned both guns to 100% reliable.
Maybe a hot take but I think experimenting with comps is fun because they do malfunction and it gives you a little more work to do troubleshooting them and trying new parts. I don't even care if my play guns aren't 100% reliable, clearing malfunctions is fun

Reliability and longevity... I don’t think CZ’s have proven themselves comparable to H&K. Perhaps in 20 years it’ll be a different discussion.

Definitely agree the Mk 23 is extremely reliable. I would honestly rank the S&W M&P 9mm slightly higher than the Glock though. I've owned a few of each and put several thousand rounds through each one. The S&W's by a small margin out did my Glocks in reliability.
