      You missed the most versatile in my opinion which is the 5.7 x 28mm pistol! Extremely lightweight, easy to carry, well-built, reliable, functional powerful and easy to carry lots of the ammunition in your pockets if you have to get out in a hurry. Also, up to 20 round capacity magazines, it has gone through torture tests in the past from other RUclipsrs like gauntlet Tests, and it succeeded to function through everything it was put through.

    • @ruffgeear3311
      @ruffgeear3311 6 месяцев назад +15

      @@alananderson5929 it depends. In Germany you need a card for weapon ownership. There is a green one and a yellow one. The green one is for semi auto rifles and pistols, revolvers and either semi auto or pump action shotguns. With this one you can own two handguns and 4 long guns. You also have to demonstrate a so called need für each buy. Like for hunting or competition. Self defense does not count unfortunately.
      If you want more, you have to prove that you use them for competition.
      But hunters are excluded from this rule. They can buy as much as they want.
      The yellow one is for single shot handguns and longguns and bolt action guns. You can put 10 on that card. You do not have to provide a need for them.
      Hope that answers your question mate 😂

      @kevinallies1014 that's true about the Canik, though it is becoming more prolific in the US. I know quite a few people who own one.
      The CZ I feel would be MUCH easier to get parts and mags if needed.
      I love them both and I know Glock will probably be the top for most, forever. And that's OK. I would 100% take my chances with my CZ. My Canik would just have to stay where it broke if it came down to it. If needs be, I would probably replace it with a Glock 34. But that would be a last ditch solution.
      I'll definitely ride-or-die with my CZ though. She's worth it in my opinion

    SHTF Firearms: MOS Glock 19, AR15(mil-spec) and Ruger's 10/22 Takedown model
    KISS - These have the most common parts, most commonly found ammo and you can do 90% of your hunting with the relatively quiet 10/22 which breaks down into an easy to carry pack. Remember, there won't be any refrigeration for storage so you'll be hunting smaller game, maybe trapping fish. The smaller the fire and the smaller the caliber you're shooting, the less attention you're going to attract. 9mm and 5.56 are still around for self defense but, due to lack of cold storage, I'd sooner trap/hunt the smaller animals.

    • @RobertSmith-kj6eb
      @RobertSmith-kj6eb 5 месяцев назад

      Do you really want to carry around 3 guns though? Maybe just get a suppressor and threaded barrel for the glock.

    • @JKLauderdale
      @JKLauderdale 5 месяцев назад

      @@RobertSmith-kj6eb Theoretically, you won't be carrying the AR around much. 90% of the time, you'll be carrying the .22 and 9mm with the AR left at home.
      Remember, it's not just the weight of the weapon but that of the ammo too. Once you've secured a BoO then you'll be able to work outwards from there. Gas is only stable for 4-6wks, we'll have that long to travel until we're on foot, horse or bikes. If you have a cache of ammo, parts and other tradeable pieces of kit then you'll want to setup ASAP and spend those 4-6wks searching and scavenging and securing your area. That means traveling light but able to defend at home.

    My S&W 686 .357 was my first gun purchase at 18 years old, and I am now 55. Been the best hunting/protection gun I have ever owned, for close quarter or reaching out to touch something. Paired with a (now classic) Galco vertical holster, also bought back in the early 80's when they first opened here in Phoenix (actually they were right around the corner where I worked at the Air Park, along with Dillion Precision, so I was making money and heading to both and spending it). Love my semi-autos, but that 686 is venerable, reliable, accurate, and can club the heck outta someone as well. 😉

    Yep, gotta have a Glock for the end of the world gun. For me, it's the basic gen 3 model 19. The most popular caliber, I have a bunch of mags, and you can use mags from several different Glock models. The mags are anywhere you go. Glock parts are easy to find and just as easy to install, not that you'd need them. I bought mine in 2009, I've put thousands of rounds through it and never had a malfunction. That's probably the most important thing in a shtf firearm. It has to work every time.

    • @lindanelson8400
      @lindanelson8400 6 месяцев назад +2

      @SuicideVan Absolutely right. I've only handled one Glock that would have a malfunction about every third round. It belonged to a coworker. He inherited it from his dad. It was an early model 19. His dad was into competition shooting, and he had put every hotrod part and spring in it for competition. The major problem was light primer strikes.
      My coworker wanted a properly functioning gun. He paid for the parts, and I replaced everything in the slide with oem Glock parts. The only part I left alone was the 3.5 lb connector his dad had put in. Afterward, that 19 functioned like new again.

Moving the topic from handguns to rifles, I would be so curious to know your "End of the World" scenario for rifles. If you had to choose 5 rifles to take with you, for all the similar reasons as the handguns, it would be awesome to know your picks and why! All of these are super wide spread, you could scavange parts from less fortunate survivors or law-enforcement/military, 9mm is the most common caliber, stores (before they are totally ransacked) would have parts, magazines and ammo for them. The Glock 17 or 19 are the most common handguns worldwide as far as I know, so you'd have the best chance of finding spare parts.

    No, in my humble opinion, I Revolver would be the ideal end of the world weapon handgun wives because the magazine is always with the gun. You never have to look for a magazine. You never have to look for more magazines. It’s already there just like a tubular magazine on a lever action rifle it’s always theremay be slower reloading, but you’ll never lose it in the end of the world situation. You may not have access to extra magazines. They may not be available so with revolver you’re always ready for action. Just my opinion and thanks for your review.

    Love that you picked the S&W 686 6” for the revolver slot. I bought mine about six years for two reasons: 1. Because they are WAY better, more popular, and more common than other “Big Nasties”, 2. For the apocalypse. I mean I’d probably grab a couple guns between the wife and I, but that 686 is the only one with a guaranteed ticket 😂. You also forgot to mention that it can fire 38 Special, which doubles your chance of finding more ammo, especially since both 357 and 38 Spc are two of the most common calibers in the US, especially for revolvers.

    Im a huge investor and a factory trained armorer for the hk usp series. I carry a usp compact 9mm daily but dont think id recommend it for the end of the world. Its very difficult to repair and make parts for. Id put most HK products in that category. If they are running, they are durable and run well, if they break, they are done without support.
    The p226 is almost the same thing, the small parts interchange with most P-200 series pistols and they have sold a bunch.
    Wheel guns, especially colts are too complicated and require hardened parts internally. Colts destroy themselves due to the hand and bolt issue that is caused by the rotation. I like the idea of a wheelgun but not sure about durability and repair.
    Stacatto is not great, you have to keep it damn clean. My XC has issues when it gets dirty. Id go with a looser tolerance pistol.
    I understand its your opinion.
    Id go with a beretta, glock and the 320. They are all plentiful, I carry a glock when im going on the water. I carry a 20 because it can handle gators, my local leo department carries a 21 so it swaps parts. For a wheel gun, model 10 smith wesson, 629, 69 etc. All have good uses. Personally im keeping the B&T Station six (45) my wife bought me for my birthday close. It has great potential because most of all it keeps people from knowing you are around.
    Last of the mohicans taught us to never fire twice because nobody gets a location from a single shot. Everyone finds you in 2 shots.

      I’m good to about 50-70 yards just depends on the pistol. My CZ p09 I’m 70 yards my 19 43x and sigs I’m still getting 30-50 yards. Idk that low bore axis on that cz is really a charm in accuracy just took me awhile to feel her out

      Grip is the most important thing when it comes to pistol marksmanship. Master a tight, vice-like grip that allows you to ratchet down the gun. Learn the trigger wall in your gun, learn to break the wall back to the rear without disrupting your sights. Focus on developing grip, relaxed shoulders, and your pistol marksmanship will change forever.

    In my opinion, the G23 is the best handgun in the world! You can shoot 4 caliber’s through this gun by swapping out barrels/mags. I currently shoot 9mm through mine with a lone wolf barrel. 9mm are cheaper, but if I get.40 cal at a good price, I change barrels/mags and I’m good to go.

    cool Video as always, Chris. I agree, S&W 686 or Ruger GP100, or a Python, I can go with any of those.
    I like my Glock 19x & the 17. Going to look at a 34 next week.
    I would absolutely want any of my Beretta's , 92FS, M9A3, full size Storm. they are all good.
    Swap the M&P 2.0 for the HK, because I have a lot M&P magazines. It has a good trigger.
    .22, I must choose my Browning Buckmark. It's pretty accurate & very quiet. Have a good one! chuck

      I have S&W 686 plus 4” ( 7 round) and S&W 66 6” and Ruger sp101. Love them all. Rugers are built like a tank but not as fancy but still think Rugers are just sturdier since cylinder attaches at frame not with stem !!!

    Have had the HK USPc 9mm for 24 years/40,000+ rounds and the only problem is a broken firing pin a last year. Got the Sig p226 a few years after the HK and it Is also very reliable and accurate. My revolver is a 1970s Ruger Sigle Six LR/WMR. Nuff said. Number four id the Beretta PX4. The last spot is any one of my 1911s.

    Chris, you have repeatedly extolled the H&K USP Expert, and it doubtless is a superb autoloader. However, you never even mention the H&K USP Tactical, chambered in .45 ACP. That, I believe, is myopic and biased. The original .45 USP Tactical has every advantage and design innovation of the Expert - and there are many - but its Mark 23 roots are even deeper than the remainder of the USPs, which indicate unequalled quality, deign engineering, reliability, durability and accuracy. Moreover, for any “End of the World” scenario, I’d prefer a handgun that can fire unlimited quantities of all .45 ACP rounds (including .45 Super). You’re a virtually peerless marksman, but for most of us the power of a 230 grain .45 ACP load, fired from a 5.1 inch polygonal hammer forged barrel, may compensate for your excellence with a diminutive 9x19mm.

      @MrSmith-zy2bp 6 месяцев назад

      The USP 45 can't fire unlimited quantities of 45 Super. The manual to my USP 45 states that 45 +p can be fired but will wear the pistol faster, and firing 45 super will void the warranty. Only the Mark 23 is rated for 45 Super.
