Nice Poncho review Pete I always carry one great for keeping the bag and cameras dry...good call turning back in them conditions mate...the traverse path is OK but in them conditions getting up Black Force would have been difficult (it's very steep)
Tek care and stay safe ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐ 🙏

Poncho is a good idea- I always find that the backpack gets wet even with a cover because the rain gets down your back. Thanks for the vid!

Yes Carrie, it was a really wet and windy day and a severe test for the poncho. When it’s that wet and windy even high end Gortex won’t keep you 100% dry but it did ok. Thanks for watching.

What an opening view, gorgeous, water was nice over the rocks, wow that is quite a crossing by those trees, safety first 👍 enjoyed coming across your video I love the outdoors as well, liked and new sub.

Thanks for watching. The valleys are steep and remote. The ravine near Black force is challenging. There’s nobody up there so a fall is, game over. The weather was extremely windy and wet. A drier day would be good. 🙂

@@unclepeteswildadventures yes it looked bad on camera and camera does not always show how bad a slope, its like trying to capture a large tree if you don't have a comparison item beside it. I really respect your decision. Take care.

Great video Ty. Did the poncho actually keep you and your rucksack dry?

Yes. My rucksack had some slight external dampness but the contents were bone dry. The outside of my jacket was a little damp, i think from a little condensation. It’s not breathable. To be fair it was hammering down and very windy. It was a tough test. It does have limitations but I think for instance when I use it for wild . Camping it gets me off the mountain and lightens my load.

Carlingill is in Cumbria, not Yorkshire
