Yorkshire Dales: Most BEAUTIFUL Place in the UK?!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 июн 2024
- The Yorkshire Dales is a national park in Northern England known for its rolling hills and river valleys. We are exploring this amazing area for the first time, stopping in places like Grassington, where we experienced the crew of the show All Creatures Great and Small preparing to film, Askrigg, the adorable village we spent the night in, and the Wensleydale Creamery, the most famous producer of Wensleydale cheese and favorite of Wallace and Gromit. We had an amazing time on our road trip through the Dales and can't wait to return. If you have any suggestions for next time, please let us know.

Ask to be an extra👀
I’ll watch first but hopefully you went to Haworth and Skipton.
2:53 those are farmers walls denoting fields and trying to keep those sheep off the road 😂
Try a meal on a old school train in Yorkshire👍
Malton which is a good place for sampling local quinine and gin. It’s not far from York.
Also you have to visit Castle Howard which isn’t far from Malton. A very grand stately house and gardens. It’s a fantastic day out and I stayed in an AirBnB whilst there.
I'm American and live in the UK. It is honestly the most beautiful place I have ever seen. And the same can be said for much of the rest of Europe to be honest.
Glad you love and appreciate it as much as we do Stacey! 😊I have noticed over recent years that most Americans say the same thing! Once they realise there is so much more to England than just London, where all tourists usually go. There's the Yorkshire Dales, The Lake District, the many national parks, and of course The Cotswolds and the Jurassic Coast, to name just a few, where I live in South West England. 😁 And history around every corner! 🥰
@@bobbybigboyyes The best and most beautiful parts of the UK are not in England.
@@RushfanUK Ignore him. He's probably a SNP voter with a chip on his shoulder.
Yes I agree for pure natural beauty the Dales are probably the best.
@@Philzoid Pure silly talk.
The UK is just amazing - North, South, East and West the UK is the best. I'm from the Southwest and adore every part of it.
You need to Visit The South West Of England.....Stop off in Plymouth 🙂
It really is, and me too. ❤
It really is wonderful!
@@timhannah4 Big up the Muff! Born and raised here since 1979!
Where in the south west are you? :)
The dales are beautiful but the lake district is the most beautiful area in england in my opinion
The lakes are lovely but too many tourists there.
I got bitten by a pike in lake Windermere when I was 8yrs old! Took a right chunk out the back of my foot 😒 never liked the place since 😂 lol
Nah, Dales > Lakes. Proper UK country. Dales is all touristy.
Surely he visited before , when he lived and worked not so far away !
Definitely the Lake District is more beautiful than the Dale's.
Go to the lake district while your up north most beautiful park of the uk
We're planning to go there. Probably later in the summer.
When we lived in York, we'd often visit The Black Horse Hotel for lunch. There's also a great Coffee House, where they serve delicious cream teas.
The Falls are gorgeous. We'd visit the Coffee Shop and have the best Welsh Rarebit and cream tea. The most lovely visit was on New Years Eve, when the Falls were frozen. So beautiful . The Yorkshire Dales have an abundance of lovely pubs and Restaurants. Great walks and National Trust Houses to visit. We lived in York There is so much to see., in that beautiful Historic City. Then visit gorgeous Knaresborough, Howarth ( home of the Bronte sisters) and Whitby....You need at least 2 weeks to do North Yirkshire any justice. We emigrated, so miss it. We love our new home and Ciuntry, but aim to visit York next year, and i cant wait. ( I've never seen anyone pay the £1 in the 'honesty box' at Aysgarth Falls) The only food i miss are Pasties from Greggs and Wensleydale cheese. Happily, we've found a Company that sends Wensleydale Cheese overseas. ( we lived in Australia, then New Zealand. Loved it but got 'homesick' for the History, Culture, foods of Europe. We love the easy commute between the West European Countries, so now live in our 'forever home' in Europe. Whilst we will visit the Uk, we will never move back there
Most beautiful place in the UK? That's fighting talk!!! 😵💫 Wow that apartment is gorgeous.
Yeah , Scunthorpe is the prettiest place
The apartment was really gorgeous as was the surrounding area.
@@TheMagicGeekdom You should visit the Lake District. It's even more beautiful.
Not fighting talk, just stating the obvious. Yorkshire is God's own country..
You obviously haven't been to the lake District yet? Go off the beaten path and have a Scotch Egg at Gosforth bakery, and go on to Wastwater England's deepest lake which I used to dive and managed 69 metres during my deepest dive! And then go up to Scotland and do the Glasgow to Glencoe over the mountain pass and take In the commando memorial on the way and then go on to Plockton visiting Eileen Donal castle on the trip made famous from the highlander movie staring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery before going over the bridge to Skye.
Have you heard of the Cotswolds? The villages are the most beautiful and warmer than Yorkshire. The whole area is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Rutland waters are nice to..
Ah, Ribblehead Viaduct. Was doomed in the early 80s (along with the whole Settle-Carlise railway) until someone pointed out that it was a strategic tourism and freight route. Since the campaigners saved it, it has boomed in business.
Ah yes, the cotswolds are indeed full of beautiful villages but you wont get more friendlier people than Yorkshire folk !
@@chrisdaniel3303 Lancashire folk are better.
The Cotswolds are busier and more populated. When you look at sheer area, the Cotswolds can just disappear in the Dales.
Suggestions - Malham Cove and the circular walk to Gordale Scar and Janet's Foss, Runswick Bay, walk over to Staithes, Ingleton Falls Walk, Rievaulx Abbey, Knaresbrough, Haworth, Pickering, Richmond. Lots more. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
Aysgarth falls was a filming location for Robin Hood, Prince of thieves, it’s a spectacular water flow in winter when more water comes down steam.
Have you been to the Lake District yet. Please visit - its the most beautiful place in England. Love your videos.
What about Skegness, that is paradise.
We have not yet. We're planning on it though.
@@TheMagicGeekdom That was English humour 🙂
Skegness is a shytehole please avoid !!
Thats because you haven't been to Englands Lake District or The Cotwolds have you? those are 2 of the most beautiful places in England IMO..then parts of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset
I've been to both the Lake District and the Cotswolds. Sorry, the Yorkshire Dales are better!
@@melanierhianna 😂 Yeah ok if you say so ...🙄
Both the Lake District and the Cotswolds are over run with gawping tourists.
Poor Quinn her tastebuds are used to processed American Cheddar.
I’m from Norfolk in the UK but my grandad and auntie come from Yorkshire so I have Yorkshire blood per say and it is one if not my favourite place in the UK everything, the people etc are just so lovely York, Skipton, Harrogate Whitby, Ripon etc are among my favourites places along with the Dales Glad you both had a good time and Wensleydale dairy is a must for the butter and cheese 😊
You really would love the Lake District, my favourite place is the village of Grassmere. It has one of the uks best hidden gems - the Grassmere ginger bread shop that is still making the Gingerbread to Sara nelsons original recipe from 1850's, its just absolutely delicious. Even the little shop that was one the old school house is the same inside today as it was over 150 years ago its a real time capsule. Also if you like poetry then the poet William Wordsworth was laid to rest and you can visit his resting place and also his cottage. It's a beautiful little village and only 10 minutes drive from Ambleside and lake windermere.
I love your videos guys I'm so happy to see you enjoying our beautiful country I live just 30 minutes away from the Lake District and everyday I feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world with the Lakes, North Yorkshire dales and Forrest of Bowland in lancashire all in a stones throw away. If you interested in history too I recommend you visit Lancaster Castle and City where the pendal witches where tried and sentenced to the gallows near a beautiful park worth visiting called Williamsons Park that a local business man built in remembrance for his wife. I really hope you get time to visit some of these places one day. Look forward to your next videos soon, God bless guys 🙏🏽
I'm pretty sure you haven't visited everywhere in the UK? should also visit The Lake Distict and The Cotwolds in England which also has beautiful old villages and rolling green hills, need to visit the south west coast as well...
It’s so weird because it’s so normal for us! I love watching this! Thank you! You’re welcome here any time! ❤❤❤
Ill raise you to come to Dorset. Durdle Door, Kimmerige Bay, Poole Harbour, Christchurch, Bournemouth... just the start.
Durdle Door is really cool and beautiful.
I love Bournemouth...I live near Eastbourne but I'd move to Bournemouth if I could! ❤
Durdle Door has been wrecked by an influx of yobbish scumbags who now regularly turn up in their thousands to misbehave at what was once an idyllic cove.
Yorkshire born and bred and love it!
Oh dear cornish tea in Yorkshire 😢Yorkshire tea is blended especially for soft Yorkshire water, so glad ya made the journey to visit Yorkshire and aint we just so lucky ti have all this on our doorstep ❤
Try "Barrys" tea from Ireland. England is a beautiful country..
I can vouch for Barry’s Tea. A kind friend always brings me a box when she goes back home
Did you know that Taylor Swift dedicated a song to Englands Lake District called 'The Lakes'
If you like quaint villages, you’ll love Bourton on the Water which is in the Cotswolds. I’m retiring to Yorkshire from the South Coast of England. I’m actually from North Eastern England near Durham so almost going back towards my roots!
I love watching your channel!
too busy
Welcome back home. ❤🎉
Snap!
I’m a Yorkshire girl who’s been living in the Cotswolds for 21 years and now house hunting north of York. My roots are calling!
@@josimpson7999 Cotswolds are unsurpassed for gentle soft beauty and lovely villages. Much softer than Yorkshire which is greyer and colder.
We have since been to Bourton on the Water (there will be a video later) and it too is so gorgeous! 😍
Wensleydale cheese is delicious. Love it .😋
For me, the most beautiful places in the UK are the Cotswolds, Lake District, Porthcurno, Portmeirion, Isle of Skye, Brecon Beacons, Kilchurn Castle, County Antrim, Shetland.
Try Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.
@@susanstahl3336 glad Somerset is still under the radar…
Herv. For me the Cotswolds are the best but what about the Wye Valley - Symonds Yat. Very beautiful.
I'll take the Isle of Wight over all of them.
@@lyndoncmp5751 The Isle of Wight is nice but does not have the dramatic scene that you have standing on the top of Symonds Yat and for chocolate box villages the Cotswolds are unsurpassed
Quite honestly huge parts of Britain are very beautiful and if we are British we are extremely lucky.
Southwest and the cotswold
The Cotswolds are indeed beautiful!
Beauty is subjective. I’m from Lancashire, Gods country.
Sorry, but everyone knows Yorkshire is God's county/ country 💮
Got to agree that Yorkshire is really Gods own country.
You were correct about beauty being subjective!
Everybody has their own opinion.
We live just outside of Askrigg! You've captured the Dales very well. Have you been to the Peak District yet? For wild landscapes, Dartmoor in Devon takes some beating.
Nice video loved your chatter, kids don't like grown up cheese, loved your company, Have a great holiday. Steve UK
3:04 I can relate to this because I grew up and live near the Yorkshire dales in a rural village lol. But we are used to the roads over here!😊 It takes about 10 mins to get to the Yorkshire dales from my home :)
I am from Harrogate in Yorkshire. It is spa town from Victorian days and a very beautiful large town. Do go.
2'54 The "rock structures" are actually dry stone walls - a feature of that part of Yorkshire.
Did you go to the Peak District in Derbyshire? So beautiful. The reasons the roads are so small is because they’re all ancient & predate cars. It’s also why European cars are smaller
Not yet, but it's on our list to visit.
Love that you love Yorkshire been a Yorkshireman myself. I’ve done few cycle trips from morcombe to Scarborough which is called the coast to coast (west to east) and cycling this route makes you appreciate how beautiful the north of England is.
Love you went to Mill Race Teashop! The family who own and run it are lovely and amazing bakers!
The Dales are beautiful. So many other stunning places. The Cotswolds, the Lake District, Devon and Cornwall, the Peak District.
I mean yer plus Glencoe, Isle of Skye and Outer Hebrides, Loch Lomond, Snowdonia, Pembrokshire. But the Dales is as good as any to pick. It's all pretty subjective.
Ahhhh, your scone setup, with cream then jam... Good girl! ;) hehehe
It's the way we both prefer. Everything spreads easier.
Ah so many memories of where I grew up 🙂
Uk Very Beautyful Country
Lovely video, thanks from me, I don;t normally see our beautiful country up north! All the best on your travels, regards, Daniel stuck in London
Quite close to Aysgarth Falls (about 10 miles) is the small market town of Middleham. It often gets missed by people because they are focussed on getting to the falls. But it dominated by a huge castle that during the reign of Richard III as his political base for ruling the North of England. IF you go don't be surprised to see a large number of horses because the area has a large number og horse racing stables.
In yorkshire they have wynsledale with fruit cake i love it !
You need to walk down to Linton Falls from the bottom of the big car park. There’s a really pretty 12thC church.
As you can tell everyone in Britain has their own favourite corners. The Dales is one of mine and i'm chuffed you watching you enjoy it so much. We're so lucky to have so many different diverse areas on relatively small set of islands (will chuck Ireland and Isle of Mann in with that too!).
You really do have so many different areas on a small island. It's such a beautiful place.
Whilst in this area, you should have dropped by the UKs highest pub, The Tan Hill Inn. Music, food, huge selection of beer (and gin!) in the middle of nowhere. Best to go Friday or Saturday for the bands and the excellent rooms (130 quid-ish). Not sure they have curry sauce for your chips, though! If you arrive for Thursdays Buskers night, you'll probably see me!! There's nothing else for miles around except the pub, and walk part of the Pennine Way to earn your beer.
The pub has also featured in The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Murder in Mind, Top Gear (actually the location where Clarkson's actions lead to his sacking by BBC), The Fast Show (Brilliant), Wish You Were Here...?, All Creatures Great and Small, Vera, and Jude the Obscure and the documentary series Beyond the Yorkshire Farm and also adverts for Vodaphone, Waitrose and dear Ted Moult with Everest windows (all available on RUclips).
From there you're very near to the lovely market town of Barnard Castle, the French Chateau like Bowes Museum, one of the highest single drop waterfalls in the UK, High Force and Raby Castle. Lots of other interesting places nearbye too.
In your opinion but i love The lake District it is beautiful, The Cotswolds, the rugged coast of North Devon, Dorset, Cornwall and The Norfolk Broads. lots of places you haven't been yet but i recommend.
Should try Northumberland it's great up here
My grandad used to say “I love a cheese that bites you back”. That’s a good English cheese!!
That is good!
your in the UK having fun and im in 'fort colins' Colorado visitng freinds in Denver county lol
Colorado is a pretty place though!
recommendations - malham cove and hawes for the waterfall
Thank you!
Blue cheese on top of a premium burger oooh 😉
The 'rock structures' that you spoke about look like dry stone walls erected by farmers. Some are a couple of thousand years old.
yes mate a waller crew was working around hawes whem there
Tricky Woo is the name of one of the dogs James treats in All Creatures. Yorkshire tea is a brand of tea available in the UK and Canada
In July you should come down to Gloucestershire to watch one of the biggest Air shows in the UK
That sounds cool!
Lovely Yes
Most beautiful , never in a month of Sundays..Scotland's West Coast or the Highlands.the lake district
All on a different level of beauty..
We are really excited for The Lake District when we get there.
Very pretty, but that is not the UK . Maybe the most beautiful place in England but it is surpassed by many other places in Scotland and Wales.
Pleasant though it is, you need to get out more. Snowdonia, Cumbria and West Coast of Scotland must be experienced.
I'm biased, Northumberland is stunning.
If you love chocolate box villages you really need to visit the isle of Wight
You can always tell a Yorkshireman but you can’t tell him much!
Never seen a happier woman in a tea shop lol
next time your in the uk you should come to cornwall
Last of the Summer Wine, country
I wonder if you visited Wet Wang.
Visit the Cotswolds…it’s honestly even more beautiful than the Yorkshire dales in my opinion!
Nah! Too many people and cars. A bit cramped.
@@melanierhianna Too many people in ALL tourist areas. The Cotswolds are the most beautiful villages without question.
Much smaller area though you can do the Cotswolds main places in two days
The locals have been priced out by white flight Londoners, full of poncey tea shops and antique stores.
love gods country and love you guys
Thanks, David!
You must give The Lake District and Northumberland a tour. Thank you for your videos and reminding me what a beautiful country we have.❤ Happy travelling.
They need to visit Bamburgh castle it's great up here in Northumberland
Embleton and Embleton Bay. It is sublime.
Have you tried a Booths supermarket.?
Well i live in the Yorkshire Dale's nowadays but was brought up in Snowdonia, thee most amazing place in the UK
This is my neck of the woods and it is indeed beautiful, but still only top 5 in the UK as we're jam packed with stuff like this.
The Lakes, Snowdonia and the Highlands are my usual destinations and the Isle of Skye is a must visit in my opinion.
I had a great holiday in Robin Hood's Bay and highly recommend you take up the offer of a nice apartment there.
We are looking forward to The Lakes and Robin Hood's Bay.
Did you get fish and chips down in the village at wensleydale?
No, did we miss out?
@@TheMagicGeekdom they're pretty good. I think maybe it's the experience. I've never been to the creamery without also having fish and chips and a stroll through the village.
The new All Creatures show is a must watch. Comfort British TV.
Cool rock structures, you mean dry stone walls?
As a Yorkshireman it would be easy to say the Dales (and North Yorkshire Moors out towards Whitby, where you said you've already been) are the most beautiful part of the UK. I'm not going to claim that, as it is disrespectful to some other superb UK regions, but it is hard to beat. I think, for me (and we've staycationed across most of mainland UK since 2020), it is the variety of vista that is so massively appealing. The rugged dales and more gentle valleys, the bleak North Yorkshire Moors and the beautiful villages and towns, rolling hills and mountains - just a great mix. But you missed out with the cheese, it's not my favourite but, Wensleydale with Cranberries - Find some for Thanksgiving, everyone will love you. Look forward to your next video, stay well.
Fantastic
Thank you! Cheers!
Stick to the roads, beware the full moon.
👻
Norfolk coast, Norfolk broads are up there with anything else
Access is for maintenance of paths
We went to The Dales the September before lockdown and went to Grassington and The Falls and also had tea in the Mill Tea Shop, glad they are still around after the trials and tribulations of Covid
In the Wensleydale Creamery, we went to the café and had the best Cheese on toast In The World!
Have to go back
So pleased you like our traditional U.K. cheeses, I believe there's a growing interest in the U.S. for these types of cheese, which in my humble opinion has been well overdue in coming! I used to visit America on a regular basis at one time, I enjoyed most foods (especially the New York bagels & Pizzas!), but I really struggled with the mass produced "American Cheese", to me, it was like eating some form of plastic.....Sorry! Enjoy the rest of your trip.
I think it is getting easier to find good cheese in the US (I'd suggest Tillamook's aged white cheddar if you can find it), but you guys have it all over.
You guys haven't done the lake district yet or the scottish highlands?
The dales are beautiful, but they are an Hors d'oeuvre compared to these entrées.
Hmmm from near the Dales, and on the balance i'd probably agree with you, but each offers something the other doesn't.
Glad you like our cheese here!! 😀 🧀
It was so good!
Hi have you guys been to mapperton house in Dorset laidy mapperton is from the u.s.a😊
We have not, but that looks really pretty.
If you wanted to see a real filming location Keighley a few miles down the Aire valley, especially the railway is feature in lots of films.
Real Cheddar comes from the Cheddar region in Somerset, best washed down with some apple scrumpy
For me, Wensleydale cheese is the perfect accompaniment to rich fruit cake. Delicious. :)
That sounds nice.
Love this video. The Grassington area was my childhood holiday destination… been going pretty much every year for 30 years now. Soooo many things to do and discover no matter how many times you visit!
Yorkshire is magnificent, even though I’m Welsh and fiercely proud of the scenery there, I love visiting the Yorkshire Dales and Moors.
Nice to see your up north, will you be coming to the south East if the country on this visit?
Probably, but not until later in the trip.
Great vlog defo want to visit Yorkshire. Love cheese cheddar ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Another wonderful video guys. Even better because you put cream then jam on your scone 👍
Welcome to Yorkshire!! Hope you had a wonderful time in my home county
Hi you missed out HAWORTH HOME OF THE BRONTË’S it’s beautiful
You should of had a look at Linton falls as was roughly 5 mins car drive outside grassington
Welcome to my neck of the woods ... Every town and little village has some beautiful spots ..
Also more Pubs than ATMs
All Creatures is the best and so perfect for you... this is the second time they have filmed a series... there was also a movie done back in the 70s... ENJOY...
Were those falls the same as those in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves? Looked very similar!
Yes
try Robin Hood's Bay
We do still need to visit there.
Oh, wow! It's such a pretty place.
Just wait until you come up to Scotland and visit the Trossachs 😀
We do love Scotland.
Nice, but still prefer the Cotswolds, in my opinion it's more beautiful.
I know everyone else is saying the lakes, but to me, the dales is the best area in the world. Admittedly I virtually grew up in Hawes, so I'm bias 😂
It is beautiful, but we do need to visit the Lakes.
You must try Leeds City (South Yorkshire) for great shopping and food. The Dales are truly stunningly beautiful. The Cotswolds are also stunning with picture postcard villages. The Derbyshire Peak District is also beautiful with popular towns of Bakewell and Buxton.
I’m Leeds born and bred, and still live. Leeds is in West Yorkshire.
Leeds is West Yorkshire. The bottom of Yorkshire is 40 miles further south than Leeds. Sheffield is in south yorkshire.
You’re right about leeds for shopping also brilliant for pubs restaurants and clubs 🎉
Hahaha saying Leeds is South Yorkshire is almost as controversial as saying Yorkshire is in the South of England. Prepare yourself for the comments 😆
