Thank you very much for this video, I was fortunate enough to do this myself thanks for your video. What I didn't do in tighten the manifold down in torque sequence, and went fairly tight enough to almost make me uncomfortable because the plastic structure. Will this over time ruin the cars intake plenum?
Gotta love Dodge engineering. Take something as simple as changing plugs and make it so you have to disassemble the top of the engine. This is the last Dodge anything I'll ever buy. The tune up was over $400 for 6 spark plugs and labor. They replaced a leaking oil cooler as well, apparently another common failure on this P.O.S. of an engine. That was another $800....
LOL more then you want to handle huh? I just did an oil filter housing on a 2018 Wrangler and its even more stupid stuff to remove then this 3.6 setup.

Unfortunately moat cars are setup like this. Just did a versa 4cyl were I had to remove the intake to get to the spark plugs.
I agree... I have a 18 like this one and I'm done.
I had to take my top mount inner cooler off to get to mine in my 2010 rdx. I miss the older engines with easy access.
Complete horseshit, i absolutely hate new cars
WOW - just got quoted $1400 CDN for the Dodge dealership to change plugs 🤨
Thank you. Definitely different from older 3.6 motor ive seen.
Yeah they change stuff around to suit what the application its used for
Pretty simple. Compared to what?
Not quite sure possibly other 3.6 motors
@@kevinsmobileautomotiverepair I guess. You know more than me dude.
@@DESTRUCTIONKATCHUP been doing this for 25 years professionally
What size nut is needed to take out the spark plug
5/8 is normal
Yup...been changing my own plugs, oil and brakes for MANY yrs...its going to the garage!! 😂

Can you have a coolant leak if you dont replace the manifold gaskets
NO there is no coolant that flows in the Upper intake manifold assembly
Do you know the firing order for this engine?
Standing in front of the engine Pass side is 1 3 5
Right side driver side is 2 4 6
Whats that hose you pointed at first and said remove snap ring
If youir talking about the one to the air heater that would be a coolant hose
Do you know which one is the number 2
135 is bank 1 246 is bank 2 the number 1 bank will be the closest cylinder to the front of the engine.
At what mileage should this be done?
100k is avg
I can’t see because of the sun
Did everything but missing something bc the top was lose but not coming off
Top of what?
@@kevinsmobileautomotiverepair disregard I got the piece off just had to take off the hose
Way to much of a headache for what used to be a simple modification!
No modification just a trick to get it in and out
I thought I would be able to do it as a novice... out of my ballpark
It takes some tools you could do take your time
Man he over kill this job took to much stuff off my goodness
What's over kill about removing the intake manifold?
