Appreciate the video! Hardest part is definitely taking that intake manifold off. There's an aluminum line bracketed to the rear manifold bracket bolt with a retaining clip. I had to break the clip to get to the nut. I did all 6 spark plugs with new coils in about 3 hours and I HATE working on cars. Props to all the professional mechanics out there, I'll stick with HVAC lol.
@@mechdjango3490 its on the drivers side on the black bracket that the manifold bolt goes through. There's a push on clip on the bolt that holds another bracket against the nut that needs to be loosened to move the manifold bracket.

Thanks man this is going to help me replace some rocker arms that are making some ticking noise already. I had a hard time trying to figure out how to take out that air intake top manifold. Thanks and keep up the good work.
This is the job that convinced me I needed a torque wrench. Snapped a bolt off in the manifold and then the plastic on the manifold cracked trying to remove it.
I just had the oil cooler replaced, would have been the time to change the spark plugs, but of course the mechanic didn't tell me that, so now I get to pay for all of that labor again. He broke the end of the fuel rail disconnecting the fuel line last time, which caused it to be in the shop for a week, waiting on parts, he didn't charge me for any of that, and accidents happen, but dang, I wish that I had known, I just started noticing that it was running a little rough at stop lights.
How many kms or miles before I need to change? Great video. I watch it a few times every few months cause I know this is coming before fall. Thank you sir.
So did you just repalce a few coil packs or do them all? I have a #2 misfire and so i just got all new plugs but i dont know if i need to replace all the coil packs or just the one that is misfiring, same year and make as the one in the video
Every vehicle and situation is different as not every fault is due to a spark plug AND coil. I would however, if possible replace the rear coil packs in order to avoid doing the job all over since the from ones are easily accessible.
I have a 2019 Durangp GT. What is the hours spent on doing that? I tried talking to a mechanic on FB. Told him I would supply the parts which would cost me $250. He quoted me $400 in labor. Said it takes 4.5 hours.
@larrywnewcomb250 it would not take you 4.5 hrs. A very good tech can do it in about 45mins + to 1.5 hrs I don't know how mechanically inclined you are but coul be a bit over 2 hrs if you're not
Could be , I got that code in #6 and I had a faulty Oil pressure sensor on the oil filter cooler housing , while replacing it I decided to change all plugs and Coils. #6 had oil on the Coil boot which most likely caused my misfiring. I decided to replace all the tube seals in the valve covers since I had everything apart. All is good now 4k miles later.
I had a coil go bad. The mechanic said it was failing when it go to a certain speed it would sputter and I have to come off the gas. They changed the coil it worked ok but now it just sputters all the time. Why wouldn't they change all the coils at once?
Here's what's strange at beginning of video you said 2015 Durango. Looking at the oil cap it says 5w 30. Mine is a 2015 it says 5w 20. But I put 5w 30 in it anyway. .. Strange
I’ve already fixed the track light which was a PITA but dear god this job looks just as big. Wtf dodge, why is it so complicated lol. Do you know which ignition coil #5 is? Durango GT has slight rough idle which threw P0305 code and it’s saying it coil 5.

Oh that one!
Wish this creator would have added sizes of all bolts and sockets in their tutorial as that is always extremely helpful.
You'll need 8mm socket , 10mm wrench and 13mm wrench

There is a bracket or 2 on the right side holding the manifold. You should be able to feel/see it
Always do the hard side first! Makes complete sense!

The ticking noise is usually due to the lifters

Great video! What are the tools needed to do the job? (specs, sizes)
Jeez! Can't believe it's this complicated compared to other cars
My Audi 3.0T is a piece of cake compared to this. Unreal
Torque specs are 89in lbs or 7.4 foot lbs for the intake manifold bolts.
This is the job that convinced me I needed a torque wrench. Snapped a bolt off in the manifold and then the plastic on the manifold cracked trying to remove it.
😮😳 Been down that road before lol. Not the manifold but I've snapped my share of bolts off 🤦♂️
Great video angles and clear directions, thanks!
Do you have to take the manifold off to do just the plugs seemed like enough space to get to them
So glad I found this video! I have to replace my ignition coils and spark plugs and this is great instruction for getting to those parts.

Would the gaskets that should be replace be considered upper or lower intake manifold gaskets? And which one is the 2nd cylinder?
