My 2.0 turbo Cadillac don’t have that roller that comes in and out, but it has like a flat cap with two holes right across from each other. That doesn’t come out. I put my new high flow fuel pump on. Make sure that cap was in the lowest position by turning the main pulley, but not even a couple days the drive the car, the high flow fuel pump blew it itself right off the side of the block sure the top of the bolts right off

My old alternator’s dowel pin was seized on the engine bracket. To remove, I used a a drill bit that fit inside the dowel and vice grips to spin it off. (So the plier wont crush it)

Opening the bleeder is the proper way to depress the piston, otherwise you're forcing the nastiest fluid in the system upstream. No torque wrench?

Explaining this process to someone who’s never done it before is the idea of videos like this. To tell them you don’t know what size tool they need is what made me watch 5 Seconds of your video and then skip to someone else’s instructional video. Bad mistake. always know how to tell your audience what size tool they should use!! Shame on you.

Great video! Was able to replace the alternator in my 2008 Mazda 3 in about one hour. One note, my alt bolts were all 12mm and the harness nut 13mm.

I have a 2019 Durangp GT. What is the hours spent on doing that? I tried talking to a mechanic on FB. Told him I would supply the parts which would cost me $250. He quoted me $400 in labor. Said it takes 4.5 hours.

I want to add a couple notes/tips in here as a mechanic myself: 1. A small pry bar works way better than a screw drive on removing these clips. It was super easy. 2. You can use a C-clamp in some areas of the part to put the clips on. On the bottom back clip I had to use a large pry bar prying off the metal fuel rail you can see in 2:53. For the other clips, a small plastic or rubber mallet works great. You could use your screwdriver handle in a pinch. 3. Before installing the new part, insure that the old gasket is off. The new part has a gasket pre installed. The old part left the gasket on the housing and didn't come off with the old part. 4. If the new part doesn't want to go on, check the terminals up at the top of the old part and compare it to the new part. You might notice that there is a piece of brass/copper colored metal on the part that's missing on the old part. That means that part stayed on the other piece that's mounted to the vehicle still. I had to pinch it with my thumb and index finger and pull it off before the new part would go on. 5. The wiring harness plug that plugs into the throttle body has a white "lock" piece that first must be pryed out to the left (leaning over the engine facing it) before you can push the actual snap lock down (black piece) to remove the plug. This is just a "back up safety lock" piece they use from the factory. He doesn't show it being removed in this video. If yours doesn't have it, it's because this part has probably been replaced before. 6. Get a can of throttle body cleaner with PEA in it (Gumout has it for sure) and use the entire can to clean the throttle body while you are in there. Good luck

can the rotor shatter when you hammer it like this? Do the rotors have any extra locking screw? They're rusted and I just can't get them off :(
