@@quackf4 yup! All of this stuff comes mostly from your misc section in your inventory or resources and aids. You have to drop them from your inventory and then individually place the items. I show how to do it in my most recent video.
Entering the penthouse in style got me fr 😂😂😂😂 My husband in game is Sam, so I made that one room, where you have mission boards and space-suits, for Cora and her book-kingdom 😊❤
In all the Bethesda games, I enjoy doing detailed clutter in my homes. I’ve been stuck on where to place my TV or entertainment area and you gave me the perfect idea of how to do it! Love your builds.
Thank you dude! Any time I make build videos I typically try using a song from the original soundtrack of whatever game it is. And I love those ethereal sounding tracks, this is one of my favs from the Starfield OST. Auora is the title of the track.
Came to say the same thing. To avoid spoilers, I'll just say it's during/after the 11th Main Mission. And your stuff doesn't go anywhere, just deletes unfortunately.
Hmm I did not know that. Thanks for the tip! I think I know what mission your referring to though, for this save file I only have one main quest left to do with constellation.

Thank you dude! I know in fallout people were able to make their player homes like diamond city home plate, or your house in sanctuary as a mod. And you would download it and would come decorated. I’ve always been a console player but invested in a nice PC a couple months ago so I would definitely be open to learning how to make that happen! Once official mod support comes to the game I’ll try to make it happen. Plenty more builds down the line too so could even do it with more in the future.
since i took the "the kid" option i think it is, i made the smaller room into a spare bedroom for my parents. looks really good. i wish the monitors would play some kind of video, even if it was news
I've lvl 3 outpost now so I've been doing my penthouse for 3 hours straight and it's nowhere near as finished as yours. It must have taken you alot of time and effort to position everything well and gather all the bits and bobs. By Trying myself I can truly understand the effort and thought you've given your penthouse and have to say you've done an absolutely amazing job. Well done sir.
Small tip, the countertop in the master bath does not have collision If you add a small shelf where where it has missing collision you can put stuff on the sink.
Would be cool if you can save or transfer the blueprints like you did on FO4 since you lost your setup before due to a quest. The mod was called Transfer Settlements. I know that was for settlements only but would be cool for apartments as well. Nice content, I have been given this same penthouse suite in game which is why I came on youtube and your video was the 1st to come up. Nice build, thanks for the content and ideas.
Oh yeah 100%. I want to learn how I can make the player homes into a downloadable mod but I really wouldn’t know where to begin or if it’s even possible until Bethesda releases official mod support. I used to download pre decorated player homes in fallout it was great. But thanks for watching dude!
Thank you! That’s the plan, hopefully a lot more stuff comes to the outpost building and if not mods should fix a lot of the issues. Would love some mods now to make the junk items all static objects.
@@MillsBuilds if you pick them up while in the move objects outpost mode they are more static than just picking them up. The only problem doing that is sometimes it makes them clip into floor/table and for the fish tanks the fish stop moving.
@@Clapstainif you want to get rid of the items you place clipping into the floor or shelves an easy exploit to fix it is by decorating it how you want and saving before you leave the apartment. Leave the game and reload the save you just made and your items do not clip into the counters and floors. Even when you leave your place and come back.
Personally, I miss the ability to pay someone to fully furnish your house for you, like in Oblivion and Skyrim. I just don't have the patience to place individual objects all over my house like this.
I totally get it. Fortunately I enjoy doing this in games, always been fun to me to try to make something look lived in and like it belongs in the game. But for those that don’t enjoy it or would rather spend time doing something else than decorating in the game I’ll be looking into making these player homes mods to download when Bethesda releases official mod support. I know it was possible in FO4 so I assume it will be for Starfield as well.
This makes me pumled to see what we can do for living spaces in Star Citizen. The aesthetics for Starfield are great but the potential in SC is far greater.
Once they add base building to SC I’m definitely gonna check it out. I been watching SC content for years but finally just got a PC a couple months ago and still have yet to try it out. I know they plan on adding base building but could be some time until that happens.
@@MillsBuilds anyone will tell you its the biggest negative with Star Citizen, the wait. The game has potential to be the end all be all of space sims, that I truly believe. Jumping into the game today and if everything works as designed you definitely can see the promise on display. @@RazSkull673 it’s always been interesting to follow for me. It definitely is trying to push the limits in many ways on what’s possible. I totally understand why people love it. I wonder how my PC would handle it if I could get a steady 60 FPS or not.
Wow excellent design!, thank you! I was lost when I tried to decorated my house now I have an idea. I have a question where did you get the white vase that you have in the second bathroom?
Thanks! & I can’t remember exactly where I found it. May have came from a lobby in one of the New Atlantis residential buildings or just a random outpost I stumbled across. Any where I go I’m pretty much stealing any decoration lol
You have to research it at a research station by either building one at an outpost or finding one. There’s a research station in the basement of the lodge, you need to get the resources and put them towards the decoration research. There’s tiers of decorations to unlock, and a lot more outpost stuff as well.
Thanks dude! But yeah once survival mode comes either officially or through mods it will give more meaning to alot of aspects of the game. Like all the food, or limiting or disabling fast travel all together so you’d actually need a place to sleep at night, etc..
Yeah you just have to drop the items in your inventory and then look at the item and hold the take button to pick it up. You can change it’s axis by clicking the left stick or shift on keyboard and rotate the item with LT and RT or left click and right click.
Nice work, I was annoyed and stopped after the bedroom, placing stuff from my inventory was a pain for me and also getting stuff to be aligned correctly with mouse rotation. Also I was annoyed to find out, that there wasn't a normal TV screen or a lot of furniture for the balcony (the pre-made house from the character creation has so many cool outdoor objects). But thanks for the info about the outpost stuff to have some more decoration options in your apartment. I might try this again, once I leveled those up fully.
I rushed to unlock all the tiers of decorations thinking 100% there was gonna be a big tv option for Decorations 3 but there isn’t. So many interiors in the game that use the big Tv too. There’s a lot of furniture they used in the game that we unfortunately can’t use to build. Also some physics objects that you can pick up in the world but you can’t put in inventory. For example a roll of paper towels I can pick up, or a couch pillow I can pick up but I’m not able to put them in my inventory so I can’t bring them back to build with which it would be nice to have some throw pillows on the couch. But no problem dude! It’s still a ton of fun to mess around w the building in this game and I got high hopes of it getting expanded on and becoming even better in the future whether that’s by Bethesda or mods.
Hey, I have a question or rather an issue with the items I place. Sometimes when I load into the game or the penthouse the items will clip through the kitchen counters and when I try to pick them up, they fall into the counter. I've tried to restart the game and load a different savefile but nothing works.. Got any tips for me? Tank you!
sorry to hear that’s happening! It can be frustrating. I pinned this comment on my most recent video so hopefully this can help you Tip for anyone having issues with the misc/junk items sinking into surfaces or disappearing. drop items on floor leave cell quick save & quick load while out of the cell go back into cell place items It’s frustrating that you have to do this but it seems to work, multiple people tested it and this was also a work around in Skyrim for a similar issue. This looks so clean. How did you manage to place everything with so much purpose? I have been trying to decorate my penthouse but item placement is so frustrating! Would love to see an actual build video that shows the process from start to finish. With some time-lapse of course 😅
I’ve been thinking about changing up some of the editing style and showing more of a build process rather than just a finished tour so definitely will keep that in mind! But as for placing everything with a purpose I always just put myself in my characters shoes for a second 😂 just like Bethesda always tries to tell a story with their environments that’s kinda how I look at decorating. I also always look at how bethesda does their interiors too to give me some ideas, because they are decorating the world with some of the same objects we get to use when building. But thank you dude!
I realized recently that you can move items dropped from your inventory the same way you move furniture, or habs, or whatever. By switching from the "build" or "decorate" menu to the adjusting menu, by hitting 'Tab' on PC. It eliminates a lot of the frustration when placing little items from inventory.
I don't know if the team responsible for coming up with the decorating and outpost stuff just ran out of time or what. But it just seems half-finished. Like, they give you a lot of options for seating but very little for desks, or office decor. You have one computer monitor and one ancient Hewlett Packard or something. But no keyboard? No PC tower? Also, no lamps?? At all? These things exist as static objects all over in the game, so why aren't they accessible to decorate with? It's still a new game so I'm hoping the devs or modders will correct this in the future. Yeah, I realize it's not a "decor simulator." It's a sci-fi RPG. But still, the decorating aspect really helps with immersion, and when you can't have access to something as basic as a LAMP it really just ruins the immersion.
It really is baffling there isn’t any lamps, but I 100% agree. Theres so many things I see in the world that I question why were not able to build them. Like we really don’t get a big tv or anything even though there everywhere in the game, same with throw pillows on couches you can pick them up but not put them in your inventory.
@@MillsBuilds Yeah, throw pillows are another thing I noticed was missing. You could easily put them in your inventory...but no. I have to say, I am really glad they improved placeable items since Skyrim. That was an endless source of frustration in that game.
Lmao meanwhile I have workbenches and a computer desk area in the middle of my living room with armor boxes and a coffee machine along with weapon racks all over the walls
You have to unlock them at a research station. I uploaded a video explaining how to do it, as well as showing what exactly you’ll unlock for each tier. This should help you. ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=1t-PH03Bv6aJ0kEM
Love this, I'm trying to recreate it for myself, but I can't get things to place on top of each other in build mode. I was able to drop the sandwich on the plate from my inventory, but it's all turned sideways which is annoying. I can't get the board games to place on the lower shelves, and if I drop one on the other they do not move together in build mode. Do you have any tips for how to get junk placed on top of shelves and each other?
Thank you! And when you pick up and item you can also rotate it any way you want by holding LT and RT on controller or left click and right click on mouse and change its axis by clicking left stick on controller or shift on keyboard. You can also go into build mode and pick up the misc item which disables its physics allowing you to place it as if it was an actual decoration. As for the shelves it can be a hassle to do sometimes, maybe try crouching while placing them. Hope this helps!
Incredible work! Truly. That's the kind of place I'd love to live in. I can't imagine how long it took you to get it to this point. I'm not sure I have the patience for that, but I'm still pretty early in my gameplay, so I've a long way to go before I unlock the house, let alone do the research etc.
Thank you! I really appreciate it. But it’s definitely time consuming especially when there’s a ton of other things to get distracted by in the game, I really enjoy building in games though, it’s all about having fun! I’d just play the game at your own pace and all the building will come later on! Enjoy it
This place is incredibly. Great work dude! How did you get a lot of the new furniture, decorations and such? Did you have to just level up? Awesome vid! !!

I assume you did a quest which causes everything to disappear. If your finished with the main quest you should be good, there might be some glitches I’m unfamiliar with, I know some mannequins can still disappear, don’t know what really causes it. I’d say your good but just be cautious and always keep a back up save just in case.
Beautiful apartment! I've got to ask, how do you keep all the prop objects from sinking into the shelves and countertops? Whenever I place decorations around my apartment, then leave and come back, they all sink into the surface and sometimes become irretrievable (especially the countertops in the kitchen). I have the same problem on my ships as well. Is there a console command or mod that fixes that issue? Also, where is this music track from? Is it part of the Starfield OST or from somewhere else? I haven't heard it before and it's got Deus Ex vibes. Great video, thanks for sharing! ☺
Thank you! And yeah that can be a bit frustrating. Fortunately I’ve never fully lost any items I was always able to still see them if they sunk in. What I found worked though was if it sunk in I just held the pick up button on it and the item would basically just float back up into place, and if there was other sunk objects around it it would also magically lift those up back into place too. Either way still frustrating and I hope that gets fixed down the line. And yes, it’s from the Starfield OST but I did mute the game audio when recording and I specifically threw the track over this video. The song is called Auora.. ruclips.net/video/NBitmB2AGGM/видео.htmlsi=zxbWxtvE2UxlRS4c
@@MillsBuilds Thank you for the info (and commiseration about the physics)! I have the OST from buying the SE version so I should download that and give it a listen! 😇
Do you encounter the glitch where once you leave the penthouse for a bit and come back, some of the items will have half sunk into what ever surface they are placed on? Mine does it and it just annoys me because you spend all this time placing it for it to just glitch out
Yup, it’s an annoying bug. Doesn’t happen every time but when it does it sucks. But I’ve noticed if you go to the item that sunk into the surface and hold the take button the item sometimes would just float right back up into place where I had it, and if other items had sunk nearby to it then they would also float back up into place.
What skils do you need to be able to build stuff like this? Could you give a breakdown of that. I haven't done any outpost building or research and I am worried I need to do that to build stuff like this.
To do what I did here you’ll need to research outpost development at a research station. In the outpost development section theres 3 tiers of decorations, Decortations 1,2 & 3. For the first tier you don’t need any skills unlocked you just need to add material/resources to the research station to unlock it. But to unlock Decorations 2 not only do you need more resources but you also need to unlock the skill Outpost engineering rank 1 in the science skill category. But to unlock outpost engineering rank 1 you need to unlock a couple other skills in science category first. I think it’s like around 3 other skills maybe. There’s still a ton I need to unlock as far as outposts goes, there’s research for horticulture, manufacturing, defense, domestication, and more. So I’d say go to a research station either build one or there’s one in the basement of the lodge, and then click outpost development. See what your able to unlock without needing any required skills, gather the resources you need to unlock the research and then start focusing on putting skill points into the science category until you can unlock the outpost engineering skill.

I'd placed them floating above one of those three tiered display shelves along with Hadrian's Genetag, and I'd placed all my snowglobes actually inside the sheft's inventory... All those were deleted from existence, and the Deputy badge was just floating in the air. All my other furnishings were gone forever.
Does anyone know if this only applies to the penthouse? Can I move my stuff to the lodge or another owned room before that mission? Or should I just keep everything on my ship? Thanks!
@@denimdan555 I’m pretty sure it pertains to all of New Atlantis so I wouldn’t recommend storing at the lodge either. Was this done with any mods or console manipulations or could I do this on an Xbox? Mainly in terms of filling shelves that aren’t specifically designed as display cases cause for me they just go straight on the top Shelf and don’t want to sit anywhere but on top.
This was 100% vanilla, no mods or console commands. When your wanting to place items in between shelves don’t do it in the build menu. Amazing! Great work! For Xbox player like me, the handling to place items correct, it is very difficult. Hey, can you tell me the used music for this video? Thanks.
Thank you! I actually use my Xbox controller on PC when building. You can rotate items by clicking the triggers and change its axis by clicking the left stick. It can still be frustrating placing items though, especially between shelves. And the song I used for this is from Starfield OST it’s called “Auora”
Well first you have to find that bowl and fruit which if you have the kid trait you can go to your partners house I know they have a fruit bowl there. Then you just have to drop the bowl on the ground and all the fruit on the ground and then look at it pick it up by holding the take button and then place it on the counter top and place each fruit in the bowl. You can rotate its axis too by clicking left stick on controller or shift on keyboard.
I guess it's cuz I'm used to Skyrim but I am stuck on furnishing the house . I'm using a PC and when I try to get past the chairs I cannot for the life of me figure out how to scroll down to click on bed or anyting else other than a chair
This is such a great build. Have you had any issues with items disappearing off the mannequins and armor stands? I'm just about to get into decorating but wanted to know if there are any known issues before I do.
Thanks dude! And I have not had that issue although I’ve read some people did run into that, hopefully that’s not the case for you. The only known issue I had is the misc items I placed everywhere would sometimes sink into whatever it was placed on. You can actually see when I enter the first bathroom in the video there should be a tissue box on the table when you first walk in by the plant but the tissue box sunk all the way into it. Idk what causes it, but an easy fix is to just look at the item and hold the take button and it just floats back into place where you had originally put it. It didn’t happen often and it wasn’t every item that would sink, it would just be random items.
This penthouse is gorgeous Are you a designer because everything looks like they actually belong where you placed them Also of the room i placed a shelf with every unique coffee mug i could find 😋
Thanks dude! And check out my pinned comment on my newest video of Neon Penthouse. it explains how to make sure that doesn’t happen. It’s frustrating but that should help.
Thank you! And check out this video I made ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=u5RoXgG5rS03xK6n it shows you how to unlock all decorations and a show case of them as well. I’m pretty sure the ship comes from unlocking decorations 2.
So, if i have already gathered some MISC deco items, can i place those as well while editing the room, or do i have to manually drop and place them and then end up with flying poltergeist items like in Skyrim when i placed items and returned to the personal quarters/house?
You have to manually drop them, but once you manually drop them you can enter your build mode and can pick up the objects which will disable the physics so they wont go flying around everywhere if you bump into them. Or you could manually drop them and pick them up as normal to place them which will keep their physics but the benefit of this is it allows you to place the items more freely. The books that I placed on the middle shelves is only possible if you pick them up and place them as normal with their physics. But for items on top of a table for example your better off going into build mode and then picking it up so it disables its physics because you'd be more likely to bump into that than something placed in between a shelf.
This is on PC but not modded at all. You can get this all too, I’ll be posting a video either tonight or tomorrow explaining how to get all the decorations. You have to go to a research station which you can either build or find one in the basement of the lodge
I haven’t had the issue happen again since the first month playing. Right after I’m done cluttering up an interior, I do a save game, and then I quit the whole game to desktop and load back in and my items have never glitched into surfaces since. From what I understand saving and quitting the game basically locks all your clutter into place.
Check out my newest video it will show you how to get all of the furniture and decorations! ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=97SLw637S4kIN2Ru
Yeah they’re pretty much useless anywhere besides outposts. You have to wire them up to a power source at an outpost but at the player homes you can’t do any wiring. Probably just an oversight from Bethesda
You have to unlock them through a research station. I made a video on how to and I show what decorations you’ll unlock for each tier. ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=5xwhQxhudcJCBX8d
You have to research decorations at a research station which you can either find in the basement of the lodge or by building one. Also I suggest putting skill points towards the outpost skill in the science category because you’ll need it to further unlock the decorations.
Very nice , but my level 80 character can't even access most of the furniture you show . Is that double bed something you got from a perk , or is it from a mod ? Because the best I can do makes it look like a squatter has moved into the nicest house in town .
I like being able to manually customize everything to your liking, but goddamn man.... Makes me wish we could just pick pre made customizations like in Skyrim. It's just too much work...
Haha It definitely is time consuming but it gives meaning to all this misc items! Eventually there will be mods where you could just install an already furnished Penthouse so that will be cool. I’m gonna look into making this a download for when official mod support comes out.
100%. At least with ship builder your options are finite and relatively easy to recreate. This is a huge amount of work every time you get an apartment or build an outpost (whether on your first game, a NG+, or a new character). Forget about it, I'm not investing that kind of time to something I have to do over again.

Wish there was an auto decorate and i could somehow copy your design, placing shit is too much work considering how little of use the houses actually are :(
Hopefully I can make this into a mod down the line where you could download it and your penthouse would come pre decorated just like this. I’d like to do it with all the player homes
Shame that they basically just reused the Paradiso suite as the penthouse suite. Would be nice to have some attention to detail and effort in making the universe feel less copy-paste with procedural gen fluff.
Yeah, I did this once, then all my items I placed sunk about a foot into whatever I placed them on. Not doing this again. 8 hours wasted for them ALL to clip through stuff!
I read this the other day online as a tip to fix that which used to work in Skyrim drop items on floor leave cell quick save & quick load while out of the cell go back into cell place items I’ve tried it and so have others and it seems to work. Little annoying that you have to do that though. Eventually mods similar to Fallout 4 which makes them static objects will come out which will be nice. Placing furniture is one thing.
But I'm fascinated that you took the time to get all the items and decorate the rooms vividly.
Thanks dude! That’s one of my favorite things in Bethesda games, I love making it all feel lived in and it gives meaning to looting all the misc items.
I LOVE COLLECTING STUFF ❤

@@MillsBuildswait you place the MSC items?? 😮😮 I thought they spawn overtime like the ship

This place just needs a Fast Travel Marker.
Nice decorations
Wow! Really well done! You have my favorite Plushie on the couch!
Damn. Slick. I took one look inside that empty condo and dipped out. Looked like so much work
Absolutely stunning. Im just glad you you didn't try to place the towel rack in the bathroom. The game will only let me place it at head level.
In all the Bethesda games, I enjoy doing detailed clutter in my homes. I’ve been stuck on where to place my TV or entertainment area and you gave me the perfect idea of how to do it! Love your builds.
Man, very ethereal, otherworldly vibe to this with the layout and the music. I know it's early days, but best one I've seen so far. Loved it.
Thank you dude! Any time I make build videos I typically try using a song from the original soundtrack of whatever game it is. And I love those ethereal sounding tracks, this is one of my favs from the Starfield OST. Auora is the title of the track.
Apartment resets when the Atlantis city gets updated during some missions (no spoilers), so beware until fixed.
Happen to me today. Was very upset, spent many hours and resources building my apartment and had all my extra good guns and gear.
Bethesda moment 😫 still the best game ever
@@shanemacias5681it happens in your ship as well. Whenever you open the ship builder, everything not stored in the ship storage, such as weapons in the armory, will be gone forever.

If you put the portable stovetop on one of the metal cabinets on wheels u can have a barbeque for your deck outside 😊really nice job, when i combine the best elements of mine with yours it will look insane!
Naileddd itttttt, would be awesome if this could somehow be saved as a template or a mod for others to use and customize in their saves!
@@MillsBuilds Oh my god, please do this.
Hats off to you. This is awesome. I do not have the patience for this lol

Thanks dude! I’m planning on decorating all the player homes in game as well as more outposts so stay tuned for more!

since i took the "the kid" option i think it is, i made the smaller room into a spare bedroom for my parents. looks really good. i wish the monitors would play some kind of video, even if it was news
Thank you dude!
Beautiful bro!
Holy shit man that is huge!!!
Wow! You did an awesome job!
Thank you!!
Small tip, the countertop in the master bath does not have collision
If you add a small shelf where where it has missing collision you can put stuff on the sink.
Ahhh cool. Thanks for the tip, I remember getting annoyed with that when I did this.
I would love to see your take on the Dream Home
Definitely will be a video down the line! That and the Akila home I want to do still.
Loving the starfield builds. Hope you keep it up, especially once we get some outpost and clutter mods
@@mytheoryofmind good to know thanks! Does the fish tanks freeze still?
Personally, I miss the ability to pay someone to fully furnish your house for you, like in Oblivion and Skyrim. I just don't have the patience to place individual objects all over my house like this.
I totally get it. Fortunately I enjoy doing this in games, always been fun to me to try to make something look lived in and like it belongs in the game. But for those that don’t enjoy it or would rather spend time doing something else than decorating in the game I’ll be looking into making these player homes mods to download when Bethesda releases official mod support. I know it was possible in FO4 so I assume it will be for Starfield as well.
Howd you get that bed?? All the beds in the build section are the basic outpost ones. Did you have to unlock it?

Looks awesome minus the gaming room on the right wall when you come in the front door. lol
Lol that’s the best part to me. It’s the only wall you can hang a tv on in the main room so that’s why I went with that. Thanks though dude!
Stability, bugs, and content beside the one system they have so far provided are all valid complaints and continuous struggles the game has. Jumping into the game today and if everything works as designed you definitely can see the promise on display. It has such a ling way to go yet and people are losing faith because the task at hand is monumental and progress has been stuck.

Very nice
I just got the penthouse and looking for decorating ideas
How did you get all the nice furniture?!
You have to research it at a research station by either building one at an outpost or finding one. There’s a research station in the basement of the lodge, you need to get the resources and put them towards the decoration research. There’s tiers of decorations to unlock, and a lot more outpost stuff as well.
@@MillsBuilds perfect, thank you!
This is the exact same layout as the hotel room on Prima!
This is wonderfully done. If only there was a tangible benefit to doing this in game though.
Thanks dude! But yeah once survival mode comes either officially or through mods it will give more meaning to alot of aspects of the game. Like all the food, or limiting or disabling fast travel all together so you’d actually need a place to sleep at night, etc..
If it's fun then that's the benefit as that's all games are for 😊
how were you able to get all the clutter items in there. Is there a way to do it with items in your inventory
Yeah you just have to drop the items in your inventory and then look at the item and hold the take button to pick it up. You can change it’s axis by clicking the left stick or shift on keyboard and rotate the item with LT and RT or left click and right click.
@@MillsBuilds Excellent. Thank you!
So you can actually place containers on top of each other? I couldn't figure that out! Will have to try again
This is cool ! Good work !
I pinned this comment on my most recent video so hopefully this can help you
Tip for anyone having issues with the misc/junk items sinking into surfaces or disappearing.
drop items on floor
leave cell
quick save & quick load while out of the cell
go back into cell
place items
It’s frustrating that you have to do this but it seems to work, multiple people tested it and this was also a work around in Skyrim for a similar issue. If you don’t feel like going through the hassle of that every time, reloading a save has fixed it for me, one time I had to reload twice and it was fixed on the second reload. Only a matter of time until mods similar to Fallout 4 which make misc items static objects will come out and then this won’t be an issue. But for the time being, try that out and hopefully it works for everyone!
@@MillsBuilds Alright, I will try it out next time. Thank you for helping!
You've just saved me so much time@@TheCarrShow !
What's the price for the penthouse apartment in Mercury towers? Anyone know?
It’s free, you get rewarded it after completing the UC quest line.
Lmao meanwhile I have workbenches and a computer desk area in the middle of my living room
with armor boxes and a coffee machine along with weapon racks all over the walls
Idk if u will see this but how did u get that specific furniture for example the couches in the back of the living room
That humbling feeling you get when you see someone who CLEARLY has more interior decorating skill than you do...
🤣 thanks dude! I’m sure you can make something just as good!
I don't know if there is job position at Bethesda for setting up the internal environments, but if there is we would nominate you for the job.
haha thank you!! I appreciate it
Love this, I'm trying to recreate it for myself, but I can't get things to place on top of each other in build mode.
Hope this helps!
amazing

Nice work.
All my stuff disappeared a lil while back is it safe to now re decorate and use chest? I lost alot of gear
I assume you did a quest which causes everything to disappear. If your finished with the main quest you should be good, there might be some glitches I’m unfamiliar with, I know some mannequins can still disappear, don’t know what really causes it. I’d say your good but just be cautious and always keep a back up save just in case.
how do you add pendent light on the ceiling? I don't find any modern lighting furniture from decoration mode, only a few camping-like light
Those are already in the penthouse when you get it. It’s upsetting there’s no normal light options like little table lamps.
Is it possible to place items in Starfield?
yup, you can pick up pretty much any item in game and use it as a decoration.
awesome
Do you encounter the glitch where once you leave the penthouse for a bit and come back, some of the items will have half sunk into what ever surface they are placed on? Mine does it and it just annoys me because you spend all this time placing it for it to just glitch out
Yup, it’s an annoying bug. Doesn’t happen every time but when it does it sucks. But I’ve noticed if you go to the item that sunk into the surface and hold the take button the item sometimes would just float right back up into place where I had it, and if other items had sunk nearby to it then they would also float back up into place.
People are saying if you drop all the items then save and exit the game and reload it fixes it or something like that.
@@MillsBuilds Thanks buddy. That is a tall order. I've ignored research because I was so busy being a soldier. I'll see what I can do.
Important warning about this house before anyone decorates it. There's a bug when you play the Main Story Quest "High Price to Pay" that causes all your furnishings to be deleted from existence, this includes unique items... So if you get that quest either don't continue it and immediate go back to your apartment to pick up everything you wanna keep, or reload a save and do the same.
Thanks dude! I wasn’t aware of this exact glitch, I thought when people were saying items fully disappeared I thought they were talking about the items sinking into surfaces so I’m gonna pin this. I had this pinned on my recent videos as well, maybe I’ll merge the two and pin the whole thing as one
Tip for anyone having issues with the misc/junk items sinking into surfaces or disappearing.

@@MillsBuilds Yeah, I went back to my apartment after the that mission and everything was gone... Including my wedding gift. Strangely, the only exception was my Ranger Deputy badge. I'd placed them floating above one of those three tiered display shelves along with Hadrian's Genetag, and I'd placed all my snowglobes actually inside the sheft's inventory... All those were deleted from existence, and the Deputy badge was just floating in the air. All my other furnishings were gone forever.

@@denimdan555 I’m pretty sure it pertains to all of New Atlantis so I wouldn’t recommend storing at the lodge either. And keeping stuff in your ship can also be an annoyance as well because anytime you edit your ship in the ship builder your items will get transferred to your main cargo, but it wouldn’t fully disappear like it would if you kept it in New Atlantis so.

Just drop the item from your inventory look at it and hold the button to pick it up and then place it in between the shelves that way. I’ll be making a video going over a bunch of decoration tips soon
@@MillsBuilds okay. I was thinking about just dragging the item outside of the build menu, but didn’t know if it would magically disappear like items in settlements do sometimes in fallout 4

@@MillsBuilds both ahah. I'm "glad" I am not the only one though, lots of people had the same bug when I discussed it on Steam. Mantis outfit and several rare guns disappeared :(
Amazing!
How did you put the fruits on the bowl??
Well first you have to find that bowl and fruit which if you have the kid trait you can go to your partners house I know they have a fruit bowl there. Then you just have to drop the bowl on the ground and all the fruit on the ground and then look at it pick it up by holding the take button and then place it on the counter top and place each fruit in the bowl. You can rotate its axis too by clicking left stick on controller or shift on keyboard.
I guess it's cuz I'm used to Skyrim but I am stuck on furnishing the house
This penthouse is gorgeous
Are you a designer because everything looks like they actually belong where you placed them
Also of the room i placed a shelf with every unique coffee mug i could find 😋
Lol I am not a designer but thank you! And just when I think I’ve seen every coffee mug I find one I haven’t seen before!
Great Build, i did one similar. Then it all disappeared after the quest line High price to pay.
Thanks dude! And check out my pinned comment on my newest video of Neon Penthouse. it explains how to make sure that doesn’t happen. It’s frustrating but that should help.

@@MillsBuilds Thanks man!
@@MillsBuilds Thank you for the comprehensive and fast response!:) love the setup you built

This is on p.c I assume. I don't see the same items here and I'm on Xbox.
This is on PC but not modded at all. You can get this all too, I’ll be posting a video either tonight or tomorrow explaining how to get all the decorations. You have to go to a research station which you can either build or find one in the basement of the lodge
@@MillsBuilds ahhh. I see . Thank you sir. You did a good job on your interior btw. What rank did you need on your outpost skill?
@@aidendavis3086 thank you dude!

That video should help you out.
Can you do one for the core manor?
Yeah definitely! I’ll be decorating every player home as well building lots more outposts.
Has that bug where everything gets deleted been patched?
I haven’t had the issue happen again since the first month playing. Right after I’m done cluttering up an interior, I do a save game, and then I quit the whole game to desktop and load back in and my items have never glitched into surfaces since. From what I understand saving and quitting the game basically locks all your clutter into place.
Everybody gangsta until the mercury tower penthouse deletes all your shit
How’d u get a tv
Check out my newest video it will show you how to get all of the furniture and decorations! ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=97SLw637S4kIN2Ru
Where do you get the furniture?
ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=NwQeaLJ9tPppfDqY check out that video I made. It tells you how to get the furniture
Where did you get all these items ?
This will explain how to get them all! Hope this helps you ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=su6mWO-0a4RA1MSq
Does anyone know how to make the flood lamps in the penthouse work? the balcony is really dark but idk how to turn on the lamps.
Yeah they’re pretty much useless anywhere besides outposts. You have to wire them up to a power source at an outpost but at the player homes you can’t do any wiring. Probably just an oversight from Bethesda
@@MillsBuilds i see, alright thank you so much for letting me know, I wasted so much time trying to figure it out :/
Where did you get the bed
You have to unlock them through a research station. I made a video on how to and I show what decorations you’ll unlock for each tier. ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=5xwhQxhudcJCBX8d
How did you get that giant fancy bed?
You have to research decorations at a research station which you can either find in the basement of the lodge or by building one. Also I suggest putting skill points towards the outpost skill in the science category because you’ll need it to further unlock the decorations.
Very nice , but my level 80 character can't even access most of the furniture you show . Is that double bed something you got from a perk , or is it from a mod ? Because the best I can do makes it look like a squatter has moved into the nicest house in town .
Check out this video I made, it shows you how to unlock the furniture and decorations. ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=kB0KEPrK7JDgABpU
So do you buy the penthouse and decorate it?
Yeah, it comes empty. You have to finish the UC quest line to unlock it though.
Does anyone know the soundtrack name in this video? It’s so relaxing to listen to.
It’s called Aurora it’s from the Starfield original soundtrack. I actually muted the music audio when I recorded and specifically put the track over the video. ruclips.net/video/NBitmB2AGGM/видео.htmlsi=WuB0D4R6MjmxTAKO

I had the same idea in placing Sarahs memorial picture in the small room next to the entrance
Yes, guns and laundry
Wish there was an auto decorate and i could somehow copy your design, placing shit is too much work considering how little of use the houses actually are :(
Hopefully I can make this into a mod down the line where you could download it and your penthouse would come pre decorated just like this. I’d like to do it with all the player homes
@@MillsBuilds Yeah dude it's not right how they all come empty with no easy way to decorate them 😂
Shame that they basically just reused the Paradiso suite as the penthouse suite.
I read this the other day online as a tip to fix that which used to work in Skyrim
drop items on floor
leave cell
quick save & quick load while out of the cell
go back into cell
place items
I’ve tried it and so have others and it seems to work. Little annoying that you have to do that though. Eventually mods similar to Fallout 4 which makes them static objects will come out which will be nice. But until then try that out and hopefully it works for you.
Sucks when you dont have the outpost building perks.
Wow
