Totally agree. Although this planets atmosphere actually isn’t safe, so the airlocks are needed here. But definitely need an option for normal doors for planets with a breathable atmosphere, there’s like 100+ models of different doors in the games too so it shouldn’t be hard to do.
The use of science habs in a tropical environment just really makes me feel cozy. Like just the blast of cool air from the AC as soon as you step inside.
After more than 1,000 hours and 10 NG+, i just start doing my first outpost and i can say what you have here is a lot of work and the animals or wild life at Serpentis doesn't play around. Great job.

For some other videos of mine I did always like doing a day time tour as well as a night time tour but the lighting in this game can be really inconsistent. I even had to turn my flashlight on for this video just to see the computer stand, it should never be that dark in there during the middle of the day.. but I’ll keep that in mind for the next build I could do a day time and night time tour. Ooooh. Awesome. Thanks for all that info! That’s something I felt was missing as well and my outpost I’m working on now is more of a mining research station. So I wanted to have people in there working and stuff but sometimes having them walk all around they’ll knock over some of the clutter I placed lol. So having them be able to stay in one spot will be very helpful, if you check out my fallout sanctuary build you can see I had settlers assigned to specific spots and all that, makes it feel way more alive. Thanks again for the info!
Thanks! And just land as close to the water as possible it should say (coast) for the biome. due to the way procedural generation works you won’t find this exact spot but you definitely should be able to find something really similar.
Amazing outpost build. Just started myself and looking for inspirational builds. Is there a tric for precise placement of small items? I struggle whit that part.
What specific items are you referring to? Somethjng that I didn’t realize until a week into playing was that in the settings you can change the rotation speed of outpost items which is a total game changer. Helps rotate the items precisely.
@@MillsBuilds Hi, it's about decorations and small (looted) objects like bottles and mugs for example. It only rotates along 1 axis. When i place it on a table and it falls over it is hard to get it up right again. It would be so much easier to rotate it along 3 axis.
@@lordbarklee you can rotate it on any axis! Depending on what your using, for controller rotating is RT and LT where mouse is right click and left click. And then to change it’s axis click the left stick on controller or shift on keyboard and then rotate the item and it will rotate on a different axis. Another tip is when you drop the items on the ground go into your build mode and look at the items, you can then pick them up and place them with their physics disabled so when you bump into them they won’t go flying everywhere. Hope this helps!
@@MillsBuilds I recently (yesterday) "discovered" the Build Mode possibility. Works very good. Thanks for the keyboard variant with the shift-key. Helps too. 👍 thanks again.
Wow this is impressive. I'm planning to build an oceanside outpost on a coastal biome. Once i do that ill post a video but i need to gather a bunch more materials first.
😂 I’m gonna look into turning some of these into mods when official mod support comes out. It was possible in Fallout 4 so I assume it will be in Starfield, just gonna need to learn how to make that happen 😅
Nice build man! I really love this game and have so many hours into it, but if they don't start fixing these bugs I may have to uninstall. I spent over 6 hours decorating my penthouse and finally got everything in there. All my clothing rewards, guns, All the Ranger stuff. You name it I had it from grinding the game the right way. I go to my penthouse to grab a few things, open the door and it is bare bones! Nothing was there but a few gun cases. Everything I had work so hard for is gone. I have looked everywhere for it. So discouraging. Love the videos though man and I hope they fix this game.
Thank you dude,I appreciate that! And sorry to hear that happened to ya! That really sucks, I wonder what caused that. I’ve had items I placed sink into the surface it was on but never fully disappeared, frustrating but not totally game breaking but if I woulda came back to see everything gone I’d be pretty damn upset too. Hopefully everything gets fixed with some time!
SPOILER There's a bug with the main story mission where the hunter attacks the lodge and kills one of your companions that will cause anything you've built in your owned apartments to disappear. Complete this quest first then decorate. Hope this helps!!
OPEN DOORS: I found that with airlocks, open the outside door, place a crate inside the airlock along the side of that newly opened door, blocking it. Open the inside door and now both doors are open.
Thank you dude! It took quite a bit of time.. been stockpiling on all the misc items since I first started the game so I’m prepared for future builds 😅
@@MillsBuilds that’s awesome! I’m eager to see if Bethesda or modders themselves really crack open the building environments with outposts and ships. Keep up the great work can’t wait to see more!👍👍👍
Nice job, nice video. But it could use more info... what are the resources like? Is the water safe? That's th eFlora/Fauna like? Those few tidbits would go a long way to help us decide if we want to build there, and save us a lot of time going there to find out. Liked, regardless.
Thank you! I definitely agree, the editing and builds will get better with each video. I put more information in my last build and tried explaining some things more. I also explain things a little more in depth in the description. My next outpost will have a lot more info should be out by this weekend!
Due to the way procedural generation works you technically wouldn’t ever find this exact spot even if you dropped in the exact location. The plants and animals would all be the same, it would look the same but the terrain wouldn’t be identical. I’m sure you could find something very similar though. Try landing on an area that says swamp or swamp coast on the planet.
Thank you! And this is the swamp (coast) region. You won’t be able to find this identical location due to the way procedural generation works but you should be able to find something very similar!
Fantastic job. Really cool. I'm assuming you and your companions bathe in the lakes since there are no tubs or showers in the living quarters?? lol I've been looking for a site like this to build me a place. Beautiful scenery on Serpentis, but I'll keep looking for better atmosphere.
I’m pretty sure it’s a glitch, a little hard to explain but you can test it yourself and see what I mean. Place a hab down, and then attach an airlock to it. The airlock should have a bright red light on inside but sometimes if you move the airlock it basically disables that red light and it’s almost pitch black in the air lock. Only way to fix it is to just delete the airlock and place it again. So basically I’d make sure your habs lighting is good before you start decorating it cause it could be glitched and you just need to delete it and replace it.
Starfield is near perfect with plenty to keep people busy like skyrim for years to come in my opinion. They just really need to get building down pat, the prefab options are really kinda lame, and its not like their arent plenty of buildings in game that look sick they couldnt just add into the builder, the oceanside condos on the side of paridiso come to mind.
I have no doubt it’s gonna get improved over time. Just working with what we have available for the time being, but they definitely need to add more than just prefab habs.
How does one add items that aren't in the outpost builder menu? E.g. sandwiches, books, junk etc. Do you have to manually drop, grab, and place them on surfaces?
Yeah, everything either comes from my misc items or aid items. You just drop them from your inventory and then hold the take button so you can pick it up and your able to rotate the items with left and right trigger and then change its axis by clicking left stick. Or you can drop the items from your inventory, go into your build mode and pick them up that way which disable its physics.
You have to go to the mannequins inventory, and then click equip on what you want to show up on the mannequin. It can be a little confusing though because it’s showing the apparel on your character but really it will show up on the mannequin.
@@benwilson2099 nope you equip the armor in the mannequins inventory. Same with changing a companions outfit, you give them gear then go to their inventory and click equip, even though it shows the clothes on your character that’s what causes the confusion. Probably just an oversight from Bethesda
Thanks dude! And haha been going at it for the past week but not consistently. I been stockpiling all the misc items since day 1 when I first got the game so I can be prepared for future builds.
Due to the way procedural generation works you technically won’t ever be able to find this exact spot, just make sure you land on somewhere that says (coast) around a location close to where I show. You should definitely be able to find something similar just not exact layout.
Have you figured out how to place books in the bookcase 😂? I punched it so many times , it doesn't open😮😂 The Wall cabinets open if you hit them with a melee weapon 🔪, still can't figure out why the bookcaes don't work like display cases , or bookcases in Skyrim 😢 I want a library and, magazine stand 😢
Unfortunately not. I swear it’s a glitch, because why would some of the cabinets even be able to open up if they didn’t want you to. You could open up cabinet doors and drawers in previous Bethesda titles. Also I’ve seen stuff inside of them at random locations in the game too, but yeah really shouldn’t be hard to make them work like display cases. For now I think the best bet is placing the big wooden shelf or grey shelf and placing each book individually between the shelves. If you watch my beach outpost video I have some books standing up in between the grey shelf at around 3:30 into the video.
Is there anyway you can drop some kind of landmark? I’m trying to get close to where you are, but it’s so hard to tell based off of all the mountains around.
Unfortunately due to the way procedural generation works you would never be able to find this exact spot but you should be able to find something very similar. Just make sure you land on the coast somewhere
I show it towards the end of the video. Due to the way procedural generation works you technically won’t be able to land in this exact identical spot but I’m sure you could find something very similar.
This is Fantastic. A couple of Questions. How did you get a queen bed? I thought the game only had cots. Nice Touch with the ancient PC in Companions bunk!
Thank you! And check out my last video, this will explain how you get all the decorations and furniture! ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=vpDYeU2-GXE3o_67
Since the way the game works with procedural generation you technically wouldn’t ever find a spot that looks identical to this, you could find something similar and the plants and animals will all be the same but as far as the layout of the lakes and everything it just wouldn’t be possible even if it was the exact same spot.
Thanks for all the support! More builds on the way soon, if you enjoyed this video please consider subscribing for more!

Does anyone already found a planet that has waterfalls or river in it? I've been planet hopping for days and still cannot find one.
looks great just wished Bethesda added some life to them
Wow this is impressive. I'm planning to build an oceanside outpost on a coastal biome. Once i do that ill post a video but i need to gather a bunch more materials first.
I love building glass habs in the ocean!
@@corvuslight Oh it let's you do that? I didn't even know that was possible. Good to know!
@@GulfCoastTim...I think I should have said ON the ocean, but yeah, very cool!
Nicely done
looks so great
Love it, when can I move in 😂?
😂 I’m gonna look into turning some of these into mods when official mod support comes out. It was possible in Fallout 4 so I assume it will be in Starfield, just gonna need to learn how to make that happen 😅
Very nice build 👍🏻
amazing build!
SPOILER
There's a bug with the main story mission where the hunter attacks the lodge and kills one of your companions that will cause anything you've built in your owned apartments to disappear. Complete this quest first then decorate. Hope this helps!!
OPEN DOORS: I found that with airlocks, open the outside door, place a crate inside the airlock along the side of that newly opened door, blocking it. Open the inside door and now both doors are open.
I guess my game is glitches because my airlocks just stay open all the time
well done
Yes, i know this place, it's in the Swamp Area near the coast. One of the best-looking place in the game, sadly both air and water are not for humans.
Awesome job buddy! I bet that took a min!!👍
That's just perfect.
New sub.
Thank you!! I appreciate it 🙏🏻
Can you give me a reference on your map or something? I have been running around that area for 2 hours and can’t find it lol.
Nice! I have same exact pc build, works great.
What biome are are you in ?? I'd love to get an area between 2 bodies of water like this ! Great outpost by the way !
Thank you! And this is the swamp (coast) region. You won’t be able to find this identical location due to the way procedural generation works but you should be able to find something very similar!
Amazing 🤩
Fantastic job. Really cool. I'm assuming you and your companions bathe in the lakes since there are no tubs or showers in the living quarters?? lol
I've been looking for a site like this to build me a place. Beautiful scenery on Serpentis, but I'll keep looking for better atmosphere.
🤣😅 yes that’s exactly what we do, and since the water is boiling it does a good job at cleaning lol. But thank you!!
@@MillsBuilds
You decorate gorgeously. Also I cannot wait for texture mods on Xbox holy fuck that foliage is 🤌
Thank you dude!
1:13 What’s the control installation doing?
how do you make the lights illuminate well? Some of the indoor hubs are so dark even with some of the lights inside
This is awesome!!!
4:01 What’s the desk doing?
Kitchen next to Lab without two doors between them? I am writing to the Health and Safety Executive immediately!
7:14 what programs is the tv showing (on this planet or anywhere)?
How does one add items that aren't in the outpost builder menu? E.g. sandwiches, books, junk etc. Do you have to manually drop, grab, and place them on surfaces?
Yeah, everything either comes from my misc items or aid items. You just drop them from your inventory and then hold the take button so you can pick it up and your able to rotate the items with left and right trigger and then change its axis by clicking left stick. Or you can drop the items from your inventory, go into your build mode and pick them up that way which disable its physics.
@@MillsBuilds and do all misc items remain fixed to the tables once you leave the outpost, even after some time? Anyway amazing work!
how do you get your armour to appear on the manniquens ? put armour on them in my home but the armour doesnt show up at all
You have to go to the mannequins inventory, and then click equip on what you want to show up on the mannequin. It can be a little confusing though because it’s showing the apparel on your character but really it will show up on the mannequin.
@@MillsBuilds oh so you dont equp the armour from your inventory ? that what did but it not show up at all
@@benwilson2099 nope you equip the armor in the mannequins inventory. Same with changing a companions outfit, you give them gear then go to their inventory and click equip, even though it shows the clothes on your character that’s what causes the confusion. Probably just an oversight from Bethesda
@@MillsBuilds thanks soo much ill give it a try :)
Over all the outpost system is good but it can be way better. Just like it was in fallout 4 we need much more stuff to build with.
Nice
Mind blowing.... Im afraid to ask how many hours it took to build?
Thanks dude! And haha been going at it for the past week but not consistently. I been stockpiling all the misc items since day 1 when I first got the game so I can be prepared for future builds.
Interesting and nice
6:38 What do companions do?
Can you give us an approximated landing zone. I can't seem to find those lakes or swamps anywhere.
We desperately need more outside decor
That’s what I really want too. And some non airlock doors for outposts on safer tropical settings.
Can you show where about on planet this is?
I show it towards the end of the video. Due to the way procedural generation works you technically won’t be able to land in this exact identical spot but I’m sure you could find something very similar.
@@MillsBuilds thx for reply. Awesome planet
@@MillsBuildsjust trying to figure out where that beach is. I kinda see where you landed but no beach lol
Inspired
nice
What planet is this and is the atmosphere breathable?
Oh ok
Serpentis III. I show it towards the end of the video if you have trouble finding it.
Not breathable:/
This is Fantastic. A couple of Questions. How did you get a queen bed? I thought the game only had cots. Nice Touch with the ancient PC in Companions bunk!
Thank you! And check out my last video, this will explain how you get all the decorations and furniture! ruclips.net/video/1QhKpGfc6Gk/видео.htmlsi=vpDYeU2-GXE3o_67
Is that a reactor over by the lead and water extractors?
Yeah the giant thing is a reactor I think it’s the last one you can unlock.
I wish you zoomed in a little better to find the exact spot. Landed a couple times and cant find the beach that looks like that.
Since the way the game works with procedural generation you technically wouldn’t ever find a spot that looks identical to this, you could find something similar and the plants and animals will all be the same but as far as the layout of the lakes and everything it just wouldn’t be possible even if it was the exact same spot.
So how do you keep Terramorphs away?
I’ve only ever gotten attacked by Ecliptics at this base
