Hi folks - another feature not mentioned here is......................If you press the lock button, car locks..........if you press it again, it deactivates the interior motion sensors for the alarm so one's pooches can relax and fidget without setting the car alarm off! So that's my 2 pence worth.
That's a bit silly because what if you weren't sure if you locked your vehicle, then you would be pressing it twice and deactivating the alarm system not knowing.
The windows can open and close, however the vehicle needs to have “Comfort Access” the way you can tell if your BMW has this feature is if you see ridges on the door handles. I wish BMW would incorporate “Engine Startup” without having to charge the customer $500 for this feature, most other auto manufacturers give it to you free on the car, however BMW charges you for everything.
@@GeorgeAusters I can manoeuvre mirrors inside but there is not a fold windows in button. So I’m guessing doesn’t feature it which is odd being a not that old vehicle.
You did not mention the manual key can lock the booth/tailgate as well. There should be a lock in the center console. If you leave you car at the car wash and you have private stuff in the booth you can lock the booth and take the manual key. Bear in mind you have to leave the key fob. Also the shark fin on the roof is where the remote contact the car. So to get it open much quicker, point the fob towards the shark fin on top of the roof. 😉
Can the trunk of the BMW be open by a animal walking under it without a key Bob near the car?. I have a friend whose truck is open in the mornings and she just got the car. With one key. Is it possible for it to open in any way.
Very helpful video. I can open the windows on my 2021 530i with the remote as described, however, I can't seem to be able to close them by pressing the "lock" button. Is that something that needs to be programmed inside the car? Thanks in advance.
Hi George, one question if you don’t mind. Do you know if BMW have remote engine start here in the UK?? Know some markets do it but others don’t. Just ordered a new 2 series coupe and would be a great feature to get the car nicely heated up in the winter or cooled down in the summer before getting into it! 🙏
PS. I just ordered the modifications from Bimmertech to be able to close my trunk and roll up the windows, I will be curious to see if the side mirrors retract
You could probably help me out mate. My Blackvue Live View Dash cam is connected to OBD port with Connecta for 24/7 power. But I am having issue with powering it up. The cam goes off after 2 or 3 hours after the ignition is off. It supposed to stay on for around 7 days thats what Connecta says in the manual. The car battery has a voltage of 15v which is more than enough but the cam is not getting enough voltage through the OBD. What might be the issue? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
I have a BMW 17 x 3 suv. I could not succeed in parking assistance procedures. I pressed auto park button. But not showing the wheel symbol. Can some one help me. Do I have to program the vehicle.
George - Thank you for taking the time - These features are good to know - A point to notice to some people yes they are standard comfort access when you are aware. The point then of the video's that i applaud where practices are shown without costs to others. Hope all is well - with you and your family George :-)
man, some people are so annoying in the comments. Thank you for this video, although probably not all are "hidden" features, it's great to have all the features in a neat video with explanations! Thank you!
Heres another feature... is you take out the battery in the fob it will disable your remote completely. Why would you want to do that? Just incase your sleeping and dont want nobody taking your car while you're sleeping.

That's good to know. My dog definitely set my alarm off lol
I was waiting for the hidden features! What you showed is common knowledge and in the manual, how are they hidden?
Many many people are unaware of these features

I have 2014 X5 and same key. Love that key-fob
Nice job man! Appreciate the video
Good video man!
Glad you liked it!
My key doesn’t fold the wing mirrors in on my x1 bmw 2017 and when I hold the lock button on aswell any clues? Thanks
Do you have powerfold mirrors?
@@GeorgeAusters I can manoeuvre mirrors inside but there is not a fold windows in button. So I’m guessing doesn’t feature it which is odd being a not that old vehicle.
It's an optinal extra from factory.. Most X1s won't come with it spec'd from the dealer
Great video mate! I just bought a 2020 X3, found this video useful
Brilliant👍🏻
Appreciation from Louisville Kentucky ❤
Great video
Thanks man

@@williamwynn2940 that can happen. My cat walked under the car and the boot started closing!

Do you live in North America ?
@@GeorgeAusters Yes Sir
Thought so.. North American cars had this feature coded out for safety reasons so you will need to get it coded in

It’s an option on some cars
So your saying that if the keyfab dies the keystem can unlock the car doors? Can the key fab be charged?
Liked the bit showing the tip on how to fold the mirrors in, doesn’t tell you anywhere about that tip
Glad to help!
Gosh, you can close the booth with a booth button on the key! I was woundering whats that hidden feature that is...

where do you insert the key if your fob battery dies? doesnt seemto be a keyhole on the doors?
You can’t on newer BMWs
thanks George but you were supposed to show us what happens when you can open a car with a keyfob manually when the battery is dead, i have an x5 f15
Thank u, very helpful!
God bless!
You’re welcome🙌🏼
Thanks dude… keep thinking some of the features missing from my x1 and now know where it is 👍
Welcome man!
On my 2016 750i the windows *_AND THE SUNROOF_* all open 💯

Cheers Spencer! Hope all is well with you too mate.
Depends a lot on the car though, not all have all of those features, depends upon options, packages etc
Thank you👍🏾

Well spoken thanks
how do you disable the keyless entry on a BMW

cool thanks :)
my 99 audi has the same window feature.
Nice video although all features presented er standard features for comfort access.
Thanks for watching man!
Thanks George
exactly. thanks to Mary M for saying how to find the key fob.
Its not hidden feature, its a basic standard. Good effort though.👍
A cherry qq 2011 can do all this bro
great video, I just bought the new X3 :)
Nice one mate enjoy👍🏻
I was wondering if a regular 2021 X3 (without the M) key fob would look exactly like this one too?
Correct it would 👍🏻
Yes it does.
It would only be missing an M stripe accent on the side. Otherwise it’s the same exact fob
That’s 6 minutes of my life I will never get back. These are standard features.
every feature is written in the user manual.... not hidden...
Who reads a manual? 😳
manuals are for amateurs
Hidden features, unlock the car... Open the boot. They arent hidden are they? Poor effort
Nothing "hidden" in this video. BMW's fob's have been working like this for YEARS!!
But a lot of people are still unaware of the features
@@GeorgeAusters 👌🏿
👍👍👍😊😊😊
Where were the hidden features?
Was that the M version?
M sport yes
That’s not a hidden trick. That’s basic of all cars in the last 8 jeahrs
Boot = Trunk/Hatch
Didn't say how to get that hidden key out of the key fob! You said by pressing a small button. Where?
Bottom left side, it has a small button.
Wow
I never knew that 😂😂😂😂
And now you do👍🏻
@@GeorgeAusters Man I feel so lucky
Honestly all of these features are a global standard on all car makers since ages ago .. thx anyway
They did tell me/ my family

stupid. hidden only for those who stole a bmw without manual.
I’ve never read my manual. This video helped me!
Glad to have helped Shannon🙌🏼
