Not against unions, but its not justice for only few companies to be burdened while most other automakers do not have unions. Government should mandate similar labor conditions across an industry.
The quality of the big 3 has went down the tubes. Every bolt fastner snaps in half in when replacing parts on domestic trucks at my shop. Some trucks have water leaks in the under carriage. Get a Chevy V8 with AFM to last 10 years now like they did in 1999. Vehicle sales are down, way down. So ya youll get your raise but i doubt your vehicle quality will get any better.
I have no problem with the UAW trying to get as much as they can get , until they want the government to bail them out, which Bernie will also enthusiastically support..
Give me one recent example of the government bailing out a union? You have no idea what you are talking about. This is a relatively small group of Americans trying to make a living wage, not bank CEO's making 100mil+ a year and needing a bailout to keep that going like in 2008. Give me a break.
Whenever there is a labor strike the profits are described as record breaking, whether they are or not. BTW, who did and does the UAW support in Washington? Who is driving the EV mandates?
Sure seems to me that if the shareholders are who is the winner then the u ion needs to become shareholders and give the dividends and the inspiration to dominate the sector
How do you know which skill is more productive than another when all skills are reduced to average work time in their compensation? All skills are used in one step of a three step process that the corporation is able to capitalize on production and then accrue $20 bn in profits from sales. Auto workers are obviously not an equal partner with the corporation in the production phase as they were before in the negotiating stage with the corporation. They were equal as seller and buyer and they exchanged agreements but they come out as unequal partners in the production phase where skills are used to create $20 bn in product in anticipation of its sale. Value is added to the investment. The corporation wins the value the workers lose in the value they made in the finished product. Seems to me the right way to resolve this inequality is for all skills own a share of the finished product and 51% ownership of the factories to prevent plants from ever leaving the country. The wrong thing for labor to do is what the Biden administration wants them to do, a contract settlement in the old fashioned way a double-standard job not a career and no change in Labor as the unequal partner to the corporation in production.
I work in an auto company in Canada, and we supply the Big 3.. we have profit sharing, but we dont have a union... Im a skilled worker and if Im not happy with my company I will move out and find new work.. Fo them not accepting 20% rate increase and demanding 32 hrs work, then, they should consider looking for new job.. A business will not run if they dont get the target profit they need..
How much they make an hour? I need know before I pick sides. Also the democrats have ruined This country. O swear Biden is a double agent or something.
“A business will not run if they don’t get the target profit they need”...you cannot determine that if you cannot determine what skills turn a profit more than others. “...I will move out and find new work”, and you’ll find the same problem there to.@@tinsbali3250

Great way to push more jobs out of the country. If you feel like you're not being paid what you're worth, blame the government, not the companies. Whatever the government touches, turns to shit. Fact.
Bernie Sanders is a multi-millionaire who hasn't worked an honest day's work for an honest day's pay his entire life. Our economy has experienced inflation not seen in 40 years as well as a deflation of the worth of the U.S. dollar since January 2021. What used to cost $1.00 in January 2021 cost $1.13 today [an overall deflation of the dollar by 13 percent]. My question is, what did Bernie do when the Automakers moved to Mexico, Canada and other parts of the World when the Unions wanted more than the Automakers were willing to give? Bernie did nothing. Bernie is just a talking point, and he repeats the same rhetoric every time he opens his mouth. He is a Socialist who admired Fidel Castro's accomplishments. Wealth isn't a bad thing. Hell, I wish I were wealthy, who doesn't. Just because somebody is wealthy, doesn't make them bad or the enemy. Yet, that is exactly what Bernie as well as Shawn Fain want you to believe, that the three automakers and their executives are the enemy. Shawn demanding a 40 percent increase in wages, really? Good luck with that. Remember when Detroit used to be called the Motor City. It's not referred to as the Motor City any longer. Why is that? You Get It Blanket-heads. PaulA
Bernie could counter the greed of the greedy corporations by organising the car manufacturers as worker coops, then the workers would vote for it to stay in America. Remember, it is the cappies who decided to take car production out of America, not the socialists.
Ahhh yes! Of course the UAW would turn to a self proclaimed Communist for support during their strike. As someone who's Dad and Granddad worked for GM for many years, and watched them settle for minimum wage opportunities while performing unskilled labor jobs that a monkey can be trained to do; I can honestly say this...get back to work you whiners! My Dad and Granddad never complained nor went on strike because they understood that unskilled labor doesn't deserve a higher wage! My Granddad never earned more than $5.25 an hour his entire working life. My Dad however got wise, and went into real estate, and never looked back! Now he's semi-retired and living the bleased life! I admire blue collar working class folks. But let's be honest. Robotics can make cars so much faster and efficiently than humans can. Ntm much safer! But sure...let's turn to Bernie Sanders. A guy who's never worked a real job his entire life to fix your problems.
How hard you work has nothing to do with whether or not a job is unskilled or not. If it doesn't require any college degree, it's unskilled. Btw, the CEOS work waaaay harder than the regular workers. They created the business, and have to keep it in business by making tough decisions. All regular workers do is show up, punch the time card, turn a few knobs, push a few buttons, then punch out after 8 hours. CEOS are always working! Thus they deserve a larger share of the profits!
Yes you could. They offer training. Every trade job offers training. I'm not diminishing those jobs! We need those jobs! We need workers for those jobs! But trade jobs come with training. They don't require a college degree. My point was that CEOs are people who already know how to do these jobs, but they also got further educated in order to run the business. Let me simplify: Plumbers, Electricians, Welders, etc. All these jobs can be done by anyone with proper training. But none of these tradesmen can be a CEO without a college degree. That's my point. So, the CEOs are unexpendable. Whereas the tradesmen are expendable.

Ok Bernie. Raise the cost of American cars more. So foreign cars cost kess and our cars cost more the workers have good benefits now and make about 1200 a week on the low end. They need to get back to work and stop thinking their entitled.. that simple.
Labor costs have gone up 6% in the same time auto prices have gone up 50%. CEO pay went up 40% in that time. Your jab at the workers doesn't hold water.

How many mansions does Bernie own today? 3 or 4? What did he say about income inequality?
Sssshhhhh feel the burn 🐿️👀
Not against unions, but its not justice for only few companies to be burdened while most other automakers do not have unions. Government should mandate similar labor conditions across an industry.
It's not for the government to act, those workers can unionize any time they want to. Learn how unions are formed and work.
Fire them all and either buy robots or hire good workers coming across the boarder for less. Win-Win.

Go Bernie 😊
The quality of the big 3 has went down the tubes. Every bolt fastner snaps in half in when replacing parts on domestic trucks at my shop. Some trucks have water leaks in the under carriage. Get a Chevy V8 with AFM to last 10 years now like they did in 1999.
Vehicle sales are down, way down. So ya youll get your raise but i doubt your vehicle quality will get any better.
No fair pay, no fair work. You get what the workers get paid for. The extra you paid went to the executives.
UNION strong..
Government bailed out GM and Chrysler. Not the UAW. And not Ford.
You are what’s adding to the problem… being stupid can be reversed fortunately… educate yourself and then write a comment.
...funny, just curious how many of the guys on strike are Republicans, and now listen to Bernie, yeeei, lol ;)
Go Bernie!
Record breaking profits?? They are losing billions on the push for EV’s
Whenever there is a labor strike the profits are described as record breaking, whether they are or not. BTW, who did and does the UAW support in Washington? Who is driving the EV mandates?
Should be our president
This union is not endorsed President Joe
Bernie Sanders 🤣🤣🤣
Yah better get back to work before end up in the soup line😮
Sure seems to me that if the shareholders are who is the winner then the u ion needs to become shareholders and give the dividends and the inspiration to dominate the sector
Hey Bernie why stand up for JUST the UAW why not
Raise the federal minimum to $36 dollars and throw in a 40% raise over the next 4 years.

It’s sad but true. Those workers will have to find new jobs. It’s not the corporate leadership but instead the new paradigm shift in the automotive industry that is bringing the change. Bernie Sanders is a very vain egotistical guy.
trolls. I've worked in the uaw for many years and many people support Bernie, at least the sensible ones. If you work for the uaw you are obviously part of the proletariat, and to be anything but a socialist reveals yourself to be misguided and likely influenced by right wing propaganda.

Dammit! Why is Bernie a broken record😞
The beginning of the collapse of Rome...
This why I can’t respect the UAW . They support everyone that is responsible for this massive cost of living increase in the first place. Smh

And how many super cars does he have?
Sell out
It is not unskilled labour. Those workers work way harder than the ceos
@@stevenvargo2440there are a litany of skilled jobs that do not require a college degree. My roommate works as a union plumber. I couldn’t do his job.
Whereas the tradesmen are expendable.
this is best time to shut down these plants still producing gas vehicles anyway and focus on EVs. that is the future!
Too many strikes puts Unions out of jobs! ------------

Ok Bernie. Raise the cost of American cars more. So foreign cars cost kess and our cars cost more the workers have good benefits now and make about 1200 a week on the low end. They need to get back to work and stop thinking their entitled.. that simple.
Right, only the executives are entitled to their 30-40% income increases because they’re the real contributors
Labor costs have gone up 6% in the same time auto prices have gone up 50%. CEO pay went up 40% in that time. Your jab at the workers doesn't hold water.
@@bobbysims9903 actually it does the car companies need to be restructured from the ground up to make American cars more affordable and that would take care of the workers and put some control on the corporate gouging.
