I just want to thank the American people and Bernie Sanders for speaking up for us! I’ve worked for Ford Motor Compnany for the last 29 years. 25 years of it at MAP local 900, I now work at Livonia Transmission plant local 182. We went decades without raises then we made many concessions that were given up in good faith, and was led to believe we would be given them back when the company was doing better. It’s crazy! Cola alone is a MUST! That’s what KEPT our wages competitive, even with a 50% raise in another decade without cola the future generation will be in the same boat. FORD and the big three know that and that’s why they want to give these messily bonuses that are taxed at 43%. They claim they have given us more than we would have gotten with cola, if that’s true why they fighting so hard to not give it back or jokey the formula to benefit them? Just like the profit sharing, record profits yet my profit sharing was higher in the 90’s, why’s that? Because every year they try to take more away instead of share the wealth with those who are generating it!! Sad really just sad honestly in solidarity JW local 182 💪💪💪💪

However Bernie supported Biden who seems to think that inflation isn’t a problem. A bit hypocritical for someone making a speech like this. I am not a Bernie fan, but when your family makes over six figures and you still live paycheck to paycheck there is a problem. It’s not the paycheck that is the issue. if the average person makes $50 an hour, but houses continue to rise and the automobile prices continue to rise and food continues to rise. Then the dollar will continue to weaken. Right now, the dollar has had less buying power than it has in a long time in America. The average vehicle price in America is almost $50,000. Depending on where you live in America a three bedroom one bath house in a decent area is going to cost at least $200,000 in the suburbs. If you look at buying anywhere near a in urban area like DC or Los Angeles, you’re looking at $800,000 or something ridiculous. Gas prices are through the roof as well as food. It just costs a lot to live, but nobody seems to be wanting to talk about that.

Where was the honorable Senator Sanders these past fifteen years?
Why has minimum wages lag behind below the poverty line?
How is it the Congress salaries was $20,000. in 1969 and now $174,000?
My quest is the Congress looked out for their own interest.
How is it year after year the automobile manufacturers have annually increased the selling price on new automobiles.
How is it in 1970 a brand new Lincoln continental was $13,050.?
    While a 2023 Lincoln start at $105,020.
Why has the big three automobile manufacturers not pay the UAW workers a fair living wages, pensions and benefits? They certainly pay there CEO and COO handsomely.
The bottom line is what the establishment ie big businesses, and both political parties understands.
Boycott the big three; until they meet the UAW Union members demands.
Boycott the automobile manufacturers as a show of solidarity.

How do you know which skill is more productive than another when all skills are reduced to average work time in their compensation? All skills are used in one step of a three step process that the corporation is able to capitalize on production and then accrue $20 bn in profits from sales. Auto workers are obviously not an equal partner with the corporation in the production phase as they were before in the negotiating stage with the corporation. They were equal as seller and buyer and they exchanged agreements but they come out as unequal partners in the production phase where skills are used to create $20 bn in product in anticipation of its sale. Value is added to the investment. The corporation wins the value the workers lose in the value they made in the finished product. Seems to me the right way to resolve this inequality is for all skills own a share of the finished product and 51% ownership of the factories to prevent plants from ever leaving the country. The wrong thing for labor to do is what the Biden administration wants them to do, a contract settlement in the old fashioned way a double-standard job not a career and no change in Labor as the unequal partner to the corporation in production.

Bernie Sanders is a multi-millionaire who hasn't worked an honest day's work for an honest day's pay his entire life. Our economy has experienced inflation not seen in 40 years as well as a deflation of the worth of the U.S. dollar since January 2021. What used to cost $1.00 in January 2021 cost $1.13 today [an overall deflation of the dollar by 13 percent]. My question is, what did Bernie do when the Automakers moved to Mexico, Canada and other parts of the World when the Unions wanted more than the Automakers were willing to give? Bernie did nothing. Bernie is just a talking point, and he repeats the same rhetoric every time he opens his mouth. He is a Socialist who admired Fidel Castro's accomplishments. Wealth isn't a bad thing. Hell, I wish I were wealthy, who doesn't. Just because somebody is wealthy, doesn't make them bad or the enemy. Yet, that is exactly what Bernie as well as Shawn Fain want you to believe, that the three automakers and their executives are the enemy. Shawn demanding a 40 percent increase in wages, really? Good luck with that. Remember when Detroit used to be called the Motor City. It's not referred to as the Motor City any longer. Why is that? You Get It Blanket-heads. PaulA

As someone who's Dad and Granddad worked for GM for many years, and watched them settle for minimum wage opportunities while performing unskilled labor jobs that a monkey can be trained to do; I can honestly say this...get back to work you whiners! My Dad and Granddad never complained nor went on strike because they understood that unskilled labor doesn't deserve a higher wage! My Granddad never earned more than $5.25 an hour his entire working life. My Dad however got wise, and went into real estate, and never looked back! Now he's semi-retired and living the bleased life! I admire blue collar working class folks. But let's be honest. Robotics can make cars so much faster and efficiently than humans can. Ntm much safer! But sure...let's turn to Bernie Sanders. How hard you work has nothing to do with whether or not a job is unskilled or not. If it doesn't require any college degree, it's unskilled. Btw, the CEOS work waaaay harder than the regular workers. They created the business, and have to keep it in business by making tough decisions. All regular workers do is show up, punch the time card, turn a few knobs, push a few buttons, then punch out after 8 hours. CEOS are always working! Thus they deserve a larger share of the profits!

Yes you could. They offer training. Every trade job offers training. I'm not diminishing those jobs! We need those jobs! We need workers for those jobs! But trade jobs come with training. They don't require a college degree. My point was that CEOs are people who already know how to do these jobs, but they also got further educated in order to run the business. Let me simplify: Plumbers, Electricians, Welders, etc. All these jobs can be done by anyone with proper training. But none of these tradesmen can be a CEO without a college degree. That's my point. So, the CEOs are unexpendable. Whereas the tradesmen are expendable.
