@@johnwinter7597 as someone who works harder than most in these plants I can say that the contract offered was a slap in the face and was no where near fair. If you think people here truly want to strike you are dead wrong. We want to work and get good checks but at the same time this contract provided no new employee with a future at these plants. No matching 401k, capped out at 20/hr. Basic insurance that doesnt include dental or vision and not even a single cent from profits. Im sure you should do more research on the topic before commenting harsh things about people as a whole. All they offered was inflation protection equaling to $6000 the first year and $1500 for the next 3 years for only full-time employees, Juneteenth off as a paid holiday, and an increase supplemental pay to $20 starting out. When you have people at these plants stuck for years with no where to go you cant help but think why the company couldn't offer their hard working employees something more respectable.
@@49ersfan834 are you waiting for one of these products and cant get it now? is that why you are so upset? do research and come back with a good argument of why this is going to be bad for you personally. You have never worked in any of these plants and it shows.
The only one bankrupt are workers. They can't even afford to buy the vehicles they build. Payroll is literally 6& of the budget. The 'corporate structure' Wall Street, and investors are the problem. Along with obscene pay for CEOs and the like.
This also hurts the worker but what is more important? Talk to the company that doesnt want to provide their workers with a fair contract. its a mutual relationship here. We build you cars and provide the company with amazing profit every year and in return they take care of the workers. They could have offered a reasonable contract for all 3 but decided not to.
@faridroshanghalb7456: You’re a clueless idiot. There’s a UAW because workers were tired of being treated like crap. The Japanese companies value their workers and ideas so there aren’t unions. @kristenstudebaker814 ok this is the most common and uninformed argument I hear. The car quality had nothing to do with the people putting them together. The quality is a direct result of the engineers who design them and management deciding to use inferior materials. My brothers and sisters on the line have nothing to do with that. @@dannyadams9811 I didn’t say it was easy but I work in the south texas oil fields where it’s out side in the heat for no less then 12 hours I’d look at your job like a holiday and I drive a Ford !
@@johnwinter7597Top-tier workers - meaning anyone who joined the company in 2007 or earlier - make roughly $33 an hour on average, contract summaries for the Big Three show. Those hired after 2007 are part of the lower tier and earn up to $17 an hour based on a buildup of 6% annual raises under the last contract.
Support worker strike. However, don’t bankrupt a company.
The only one bankrupt are workers. They can't even afford to buy the vehicles they build. Payroll is literally 6& of the budget. The 'corporate structure' Wall Street, and investors are the problem. Along with obscene pay for CEOs and the like.
you have no idea.
the CEO and people running the company are making Billions.
@@49ersfan834 you probably drive a KIA
This also hurts the worker but what is more important? Talk to the company that doesnt want to provide their workers with a fair contract. its a mutual relationship here. We build you cars and provide the company with amazing profit every year and in return they take care of the workers. They could have offered a reasonable contract for all 3 but decided not to.
UAW RIP....
Only a right winger will say this
Lol...I'm a no winger@@jaypitts3100
They should have never made contracts with UAW.
Just give the jobs to someone else!
Scab
No UAW with Honda, better made and longer lasting cars. Hmmmmmm
@@kristenstudebaker814: Hmmmmmm, maybe it’s the company leadership not the workers you clueless witch. Hmmmmmm, YES!!
@faridroshanghalb7456: You’re a clueless idiot. There’s a UAW because workers were tired of being treated like crap. The Japanese companies value their workers and ideas so there aren’t unions. And Farido, Google how much the Honda CEO receives compared to that of GM and it ain’t $29 million/year. AND GM’s stock price is 20% that of Honda. Still the workers fault?? HELL NO!!
@kristenstudebaker814 ok this is the most common and uninformed argument I hear. The car quality had nothing to do with the people putting them together. The quality is a direct result of the engineers who design them and management deciding to use inferior materials. My brothers and sisters on the line have nothing to do with that. Please support the workers. They agreed to a pay cut in 2008 so that the corporations wouldn't go out of business and they were never made whole.
Nobody can even afford their trucks she's talking about middle class😂😂 what a joke
