@@mattlord2906 You mean the head of the screw that holds the wifi card in place, or the screw hole? If it’s the screw head, maybe you can try gripping the screw with fine nosed pliers and unscrewing with that. If it’s the screw hole… that would be a tough fix… (personally , i would probably take the laptop conpletely apart and then try to repair the hole very, very carefully using superglue & baking soda - it is even possible to completly rebuild the socket and then drill a pilot hole for a new screw thread)
@bobbyasghar it's working without because the plastic cover holds it down. It's a 7 year old laptop or older. I have all the cool tools for it. It's not worth futher damage to any more of it. It was originally messed up by professionals at Best Buy Geek Squad. No wonder they are going out of business.
what upgrade did you use as iam wanting to do the same , but iam unsure what i can upgrade to , i am only getting 260gb wifi speed with virgins 1000gb package , could you list the upgraded wifi card so i can fint the spec on it please
Hi Andy. The intel AC 3165 is a good mid range option. Personally, i love the Inlel wifi 6 AX200. No complaints whatsoever. Please dont forget to subscribe. 👌

@@andyrichards3349 the AX210 is a great card. I have one in my Dell 13 7000. Have nevwr tried one in a 5000. Let me know if all works well on the 5000 after you install it. 👌

My screw was wrecked I tried to drill it out. No luck. If need be I will spot glue it
