The arrows pointing to the antenna connection point are color coded as to which wire go to each connection.

Swapped the Intel 3168 for a 9560. Nice improvement

Nice. I actually just ordered a 9260 for it today, since it is a MU-MIMO capable card, like the 9560. MU-MIMO ftw

@@hashamjaved Yes, it should work. This wireless card is compatible with basically every laptop/PC except for older Chromebooks, in my experience.

@@foxhollow258 I actually just upgraded that same laptop in the video to an Intel AX200, so it should work with a Dell G3 (Dell should have the service manual for it on their website). The **AX200** is what you need though, not the AX201. The AX201 is a CRF module for chipsets with integrated WiFi/CNVi. The AX200 is a normal WiFi card like the 9260.

You do know @0:18 all you need to do is put the stock parts back in and then they will never know. I should know because on my Dell Inspiron 15 3567 I put in an SSD and my screen had a dead pixel. and all I did was put the stock HDD back and they still honored the warranty.

As a FYI -- they CANNOT deny you service by doing the repair yourself. Those stickers are invalid as a matter of law! The more you know!!

The 9260 works well with the Dell 7567 too right? And the antenna wires should not matter where it goes right? Because I see some people saying need to switch and others saying it shouldn't matter cuz they're identical attennas

Yes, this card is compatible with almost every Windows laptop/PC made in the last 4 or 5 years. With the antennas, it matters where they go. If you get them backwards, the chip can't process the antenna signal correctly and your WiFi and Bluetooth won't work. Here is a pretty good post about it, I would recommend reading: www.quora.com/What-happens-when-you-exchange-the-black-and-white-antenna-cables-main-and-aux-that-attach-to-the-WiFi-adapter-card-in-laptops

I have this same laptop and have been having issues with my wifi. I was getting 250mbps and now I'm down to about 20-30. I've updated all of my drivers and things and no change. If I were to replace the card, how do I go about finding out if one is compatible with my laptop?

    • @kaigen9

I may be wrong about this, but as far as I know, really the only thing you need to pay attention to is the form factor of the card; if you open the links in the description to the spec sheets of each card, scroll down to the bottom section called "Package Specifications", and look at the "Board Form Factor"; this determines the type of sockets on the card that the antenna wires snap on to. Note that it is the same on both these cards.
So as long as your replacement card has the same form factor (in this case, "M.2 2230, 1216"), you should be good. Same goes for Package Size on there (22mm x 30mm). Basically your only constraint is whether or not the card will fit with the motherboard and the antenna wires.
Maybe you can reply with a link to the spec sheet of the card(s) you have in mind and I can look at it and go "Hmmm". Let us know how it goes and if I actually know what the hell I'm talking about.

I ended up finding a very simple solution to my wifi problem. It took some searching, but I read some comments online about Dell installing an app called SmartByte on their machines, absolutely killing peoples wifi speeds. I uninstalled it, and poof, I'm back to my normal 250mps self.

and besides, they still would have to honor the warranty because of The Right To Repair. And not only that the Warranty stickers on electronic devices are illegal here in the united states.

The one in the video is a 7567, though I believe this procedure applies to the whole Inspiron 15 7000 series. I don't know if the other 7000 series models come with the same wireless card as this one, though.
