• Cheap HDMI eARC Audio ...
This is the cheapest device I could find for earc hdmi audio extraction.
Very useful if you want uncompressed audio including Dolby Atmos sent via eARC to older receivers whithout eARC features.
This device will extract the uncompressed audio which can be sent to a standard Hdmi reciever for beautiful synchronised audio.
I hope this helps!

Man I just ordered it on aliexpress for 30 euros RIGHT before finding your video (I'm french), in order to enjoy my MDR-HW700DS headset in hdmi for the first time.
I was a little bit anxious, but your video was kinda reconforting.
It is for using my xeries x via LGC1. If it work with the CX, I see no reason why it shouln't work on my side. I hope I'm not wrong!
Thanks for the review, I'm pretty much surprised there is no much people needing it...very few clear informations about Earc issues on the internet
I hope it works for you.
There are many people who need this kind of thing... The Sharc device does the job but it's expensive, not many people know about this option yet.
Please reply again when you get it
@@swingingudders I will!
@@swingingudders Man I received it very earlier than expected and it worked perfectly fine without any setting to make. Awesome! No delay, just pure hdmi sound for the first time with my Sony sony hw700ds I'm so glad. I recommend it, there must be so much people thinking about a solution and not finding it, and so much people who do not imagine how much they "under use" their hardware!!
I just can't use it with Atmos trough the LG C1 but it's not a big problem...uncompressed 7.1 with atmos for headphone on this, and it's very precise, clean and deep!
@@rogerbabuse7416 glad it worked!
I'm not sure how headphones work, I have the new xbox wireless headset which connects to the xbox.
It's worth trying to turn on earc in your TV settings, that might get atmos working and uncompressed audio (if it isn't already uncompressed).
Happy days!
@@rogerbabuse7416 I was just looking at your comment again and thought I should recceomend going over your settings again... Starting at your xbox, I think I remember there being a pass through option... And I'm sure there is a pass through option on the LG, it may have to be set per AV channel, worth googling.
You should be able to get Dolby Atmos if your reciever supports it.
Hello! Thanks for the video! I bought this and I now can get multichannel PCM audio from my PS5, but the issue is that it doesn't seem like I can use my receiver's output HDMI anymore. I also have an Onkyo and I have devices plugged in my Onky (HDMI, Component and Composite) so I'd like to be able to connect the output of the Onkyo back into the TV without having to unplug cables everytime. Did you encounter the same problem? Thank you!!
That's the first I've heard of that issue, your hdmi output just no longer works at all?
To be honest I don't use hdmi out on my onkyo anymore as I need my xbox to go direct to the TV for hdmi 2.1 features, and everything else I do on the tv.
I'd make sure you haven't accidentally wired it up wrong, and I'd also try start over and add one thing at a time.
Oh, and make sure this device is not going into the arc port... Just standard hdmi in.
Hope you get it sorted.
muchas gracias.me soluciono un problema que tenia con la salida de audio
No wucken forries! :)
This helped me alot thank you
No problem!
My HDMI Arc tv input doesn’t work.
I want to connect my soundbar but it has to be on a HDMI arc connection will this adapter allow me to create and turn a regular HDMI port on my TV to a HDMI arc that way I can have a connect my soundbar to my tv?
Replied to this question in my other video :)
@@swingingudders yes thx
Hi really enjoyed your video can you please tell me what HDMI PORT to run in to the tv my TV doesn’t support Dolby Atmos but my sound bar does I use sky tv and 4k fire stick so not sure if the will work for me Thanks
Hey thanks for the kind words!
Your TV must do earc, a lot of TV's which support earc will only have one hdmi earc port so check your manual (or it may be printed next to the port itself).
Nice review you have. May I know can this item use for upgrade for older TV from HDMI ARC to EARC for soundbar to get ATMOS sound ?
Sorry, I'm not sure about that one... Hopefully someone can answer.
Try searching for "arc to earc atmos" or something,
Also there is more info about the sharc device which is similar to this... Might find your answer.
Good luck
I too would like to know
Also want to know that..
Would like to know as well
No it doesnt upgrade audio signal. Its used when your receiver can handle high end audio like atmos, true hd, dts but has arc instead of earc. Arc cant handle these signals ( needs earc) so This device will take the high end audio from tvs earc output and let you use the regular hdmi input port on receiver/soundbar to get better passthrough audio than what you would vs regular arc port. Its just taking the original signal from console/bluray device and passing it to a port that can handle it.
Order mine, gonna see if it works
I have eARC TV and only ARC, Hometheater Receiver, Receiver itself does have TrueHD/DTS HD but no Atmos,
right now the audio is just Dolby Digital, no true hd audio from Xbox(Dolby Atmos should be backward to Dolby TrueHD)
I suppost with this eARC extractor connected the Atmos sourse shoud be decoded as TrueHD in my case, fully use potential of my AVR?
@@arcadio94pl it's been a while since I've looked into this stuff so my memory is hazy... But one thing to be careful of is LG TV's don't support some audio formats, I'd check what formats your TV can output via earc.
The device won't convert atmos to other formats, is only extracts what the tv is outputting... Basically all it does is discard the video and replaces it with a black 720p picture with the same audio, reducing the bandwidth to something regular hdmi can handle.
@@swingingudders I have TCL C765
I have a Q95T tv who have broken eARC. All qled 2020 models have eARC uncompressed sound issue where the tv downmix the sound to 2.0 stereo. If i choose dolby do i get 5.1 dolby but with annoying audio delay. Will this device fix it? My soundbar is the Q990B from Samsung. Will i get lpcm audio from this device and still can use my tv hdmi 2.1 port?
PS5 connected to samsung hdmi 2.1 port to get video, and use the device you got in the video to get uncompressed lpcm multichannel 5.1 and 7.1 sound would be possible if I understand you correct?
Not sure about that one mate, sorry.
Your issue is quite different to mine, I'm not even sure how this works without earc. Maybe some of the other comments will help?
I just purchased an LGC1 and I've been meaning to connect it to my Pioneer that has dtshd dolby truehd without any actual earc support. If i get this device, will i be able to hear sound from my receiver? Otherwise i have to connect it via optical but since i wall mounted it i can't reach that input.
Just check to see if those audio formats are supported, LG Oleds don't support some formats.
Apart from that this device will extract the earc audio just fine, your AVR will be good to go.
Hello. I have Thenaudio SHARC V1, which works on a similar principle. My problem is that when I watch an ATMOS game ATMOS movie, there is no sound for two to three seconds only when I first start, and the phrase DOLBY ATMOS comes out from the sound bar. Does your product not have this phenomenon?
For me, it does take a couple of seconds before the audio kicks in, which can be frustrating as it happens when I resuma a paused show, of if I skip back/forwards which results in missing some important dialogue at times.
I don't get the "Dolby atmos" announcement however, that's probably your soundbar.
@@swingingudders Thank you for your reply. I stopped unnecessary spending. I should just use SHARC.
Good review, is this plugged in between the TV and the amp? I want to connect my PS5 directly to the TV and this to the amp. I''m assuming this runs from the TVs eARC HDMI port to any hdmi input in the amp?
That's correct, my xbox series x is connected to the TV so I get full Hdmi 2.1 features like 4k 120fps with HDR.
Then I use hdmi with earc out of the TV into this device, the audio and cec comands are extracted then send to a non ARC hdmi port on my reciever.
Basically it extracts the audio to reduce the pipe for hdmi 2.0
I now have uncompressed Dolby atmos with no perceivable delay.
@@swingingudders mate, just got mine and set it up, it works a treat!
@@adolphhernandez7615 that's great, glad it's working and I hope my vid saved you some money!

@@eddieayesh3677 it needs the tv earc/arc port, that's how your TV sends hdmi audio/video outward... The other ports are inward ports only.
good day. I've been struggling for days to understand this small device hdmi earc extrator, and I have one question, if I connected everything correctly, it's just not clear to me if I insert the hdmi cable into the avr receiver in the hdmi in, how to transfer it to the receiver Would my receiver play sound? Is there a cable coming from the receiver from the hdmi out?
Sorry for the late reply, I somehow missed this.
I'm not exact sure what you mean.
All you need to know is this device will deliver sound to your reciever via hdmi.
Just select the appropriate hdmi source on your reciever menu and you should hear the audio.
Sorry if this is not what you mean, I didn't really understand the question.
@@swingingudders thank you. but I found out how to use this device. hdmi earc, from the extractor the hdmi cable goes to the tv to the earc input, next to it in the extractor there is only hdmi audio (that output just puzzled me where it goes) it goes to the receiver (mine is onkyo tx nr555) to any hdmi input, and it is not necessary to hdmi arc output, (nothing is inserted into that) and then it is selected only on the receiver in that hdmi input that hdmi is included, for example in hdmi pc in, and on the other on the side of the extractor, there is a usb for power supply and an hdmi source (lap top, desktop pc, smart android box) and there is an hdmi device that will give sound, and that's all, and it all works very well, you just need to use a certified 2.0 hdmi cables. I'm also very satisfied with this extractor, and now Dolby D, Dolby D+, Dolby Atmos appeared on my TV.. when I play 4k movies on my computer, if I didn't write something well, or if something doesn't make sense, that is because I'm from Serbia and I don't know much English and now I used google translate, sorry for that, but I hope I helped someone, k he struggled like me, because he didn't understand everything about the connection
My tv(Samsung crystal neo) does support eArc but my soundbar(Sony HT s40r) does not have eArc port nor hdmi in port , what I can do here ?
Not much really, best bet is optical cable (aka toslink) if your TV and soundbar support it.
Hello, I have the same extractor from december and work perfectly and cheap like the SHARC Audio. One question, do you have any problem with Dolby Digital, Plus and Plus with Atmos?
Not that I know of? I'll check later today after work
There is noticeable lag in your audio with atmos in the shooting clip. Nothing fixes this as of yet on xboxseries x and atmos output
You can hear when I press my trigger, then there's a small delay before you hear the gunshot.
That is completely normal, there is always some input delay on consoles.
But if you watch the actual gun firing (slow it down of you want) you can see the audio is in sync.
I wish I recorded some audio of the delay before I bought this device, it was very bad.
Actually, I just watched it back at 0.25 speed and there is a delay between the gun animation and the audio of the gunshot.
Still miles better than it was, and also I'm recording that on my phone so maybe it picking up the sound from my speakers is a bit off.
Next time I play the xbox I'm going to do some quick teses vs my headphones.
Hey i just got a new tv that has hdmi earc but my old amp only has hdmi no arc or earc so my tv wont recognise my av receiver will this convert the old hdmi of my receiver to arc? Thx
Are you saying your amp doesn't work at all with standard hdmi?
You should still get standard non ARC/earc audio.
This device will basically just accept the earc information, convert the video into a black 720p image and output that video and audio to your standard hdmi amp.
But if your TV isn't working with your amp via standard hdmi there maybe another issue or setting to check?
Hey mate,
Great review.
I have a question though.
I also have an Onkyo receiver.
Tx-nr509.
In it's settings, I do have ARC, but I don't see anything related to eARC.. no reason it shouldn't work, right?
I mean, it's basically the same.. my receiver does support Dolby Atmos..
Also, I have a PC connected to the tv, which does not support HDR (the PC), does this device suppose to solve this issue as well?
By logic, it does. By I wanna make sure by asking you, because I've been trying to find solution mainly for the sound, but it's so difficult to find relevant answers such as your video..
Your avr is similar to mine, supports atmos but not earc.
If your TV has earc and you need that high quality audio to reach your avr, this device will do it.
It will extract the audio coming from your TV, and discard the video making the information small enough to send via hdmi to your AVR.
I don't think this will help with gaining HDR from a source which does not support it.
Would these extractors work if your tv doesn't have a arc port? Asking for my sister her soundbar is atmos but tv doesn't have arc can't find any info on it lol
Perhaps it will help if you use it to solid the audio and video from the source, like an apple TV box.
So plug the device into this unit, then one hdmi to the TV and the other to your sound bar.
I'm pretty sure you connected it wrong...the Xbox should be connected to the input
No the device only has hdmi 2.0, so I would lose all the hdmi 2.1 features my TV is capable of if I did that... The extra bandwidth is needed for full 4k with hdr, 120fps and free sync.
The way I have it connected I get all that plus uncompressed Dolby atmos and the audio is in sync.
Can you use this device to get DTSx on the series x despite the of cx not supporting it? I have the c1 and it prevents DTSx from even being an option to select on series x audio settings.
Unfortunately this will only extract the audio your c1 is sending out, sorry mate... Don't think this would help.
@@swingingudders what if you look the series x up to the extractor and then the extractor to the tv and the audio out to the sound bar?
You dont have the input of the device connected to your tv so what are you splitting to the receiver
The device is recieving the earc audio from the TV, this is extracted and sent to AVR via standard hdmi.
It means you can make your TV output earc without needing to upgrade to an earc capable AVR.
@@swingingudders Wow, Thank for that explanation

Does your TV have earc?
If it does I think this will work with your soundbar as it supports Dolby atmos.
Purchase link for the same please
I got mine from ebay Australia, I don't have a link for ankther store, sorry.
It can work as hdmi splitter correct? Any limitations on outputs?
I tried this the other day, plugged my xbox into the single hdmi side, ran the video to my TV and audio to AVR... Dolby atmos worked still, however video was not hdmi 2.1 so 4k 120hz isn't possible, only 4k 60hz or 1080p 120hz.
Also no variable refresh rate.
@@swingingudders is audio possible from both HDMI outputs? also there is no CEC correct?
@@whitecrowuk575 I should've tried that, I'm going to assume audio will work from both as it's probably just pass through... However the extracted audio on the 2nd hdmi out (for AVR) will have black 720p video but that isn't needed so it doesn't matter.
Cec does work, changing volume on my TV remote will send the command to my AVR.
will this pick up dolby atmos
Yes, it will take the Dolby atmos audio and pass that (along with a black 720p video image) out to your audio device via hdmi, removing the video means the bandwidth is low enough for standard hdmi out.
@@swingingudders im using projector source with no earc but I have earc on my tcl ray danz soundbar as my PC is rtx 3070 for dolby atmos
Can i get video output from audio hdmi
If you insert hdmi input to one side it will pass through the hdmi 2.0 on the other side, plus another audio only output. Meaning you can still output video and extract the lossless audio (2 separate cables).
But, it's hdmi 2.0 only so you can't pass through 2.1 features like vrr, 120fps etc.
The extracted audio does include a black 720p video image but that's not meant to be used.
Are you getting 120 hz and VRR on Xbox series X when playing ?
Yeah all video is going from the xbox to my cx oled so I get the full hdmi 2.1 goodness.
My reciever handles audio and that's where this device comes in.
It's made a difference to ota TV audio and I can even now control the reciever volume with my TV remote.
Seriously, this has worked wonders.

@@ksastorm4738 not at all, I mean my xbox series x goes direct to the TV so this device isn't in the equation until the audio (and video which is unwanted) is directed out from my TV to receiver... Then it extracts the audio goodness, the console fps settings don't have any impact on audio.
Can i connect erc to earc hdmi??
