Too bad this good one from the bad bunch of Triboro Coach's RTS CNGs had to go :( The brake release should get you giddy....I swear it sounds like a hooptie with a big exhaust....
God i remember watching this on repeat when you posted it, along with some of your other videos!! Thanks for keeping them up. bringing me back to the good old days!!
that trips me out too. our buses have a Cummins L10, 280G engine and a ZF-ECOMAT 5HP590 transmission. Its a Nova RTS RTWFD-82L LNg bus for our transit DART in Dallas, Texas. Our Nova RTS RTWFD-82 has a Cummins ISL engine and a 5HP590 transmission. All our types of Nova RTS do.
Sounds smooth. Also that wheel shift sound at 1:02 reminds me of how our 1990 New Flyer D35s and D40s and our L10 Metros use to sound before they took off in operation back in their bus lives and years when they still roamed around town here in Atlanta
I wonder wat type of engines the new RTS buses that were recently bought back into production will have. it'd be so weird to hear an RTS bus with a Cummins ISL-G, ISL09, or ISX12, or ISX12-G with a possible Allison B400R or ZF Ecolife transmission
Great Video Sounds like The only CNG TMC that MTA had,,1273,,was a Cummins L10 with a ZF Transmission,,Oh the Memories I have of that day on the Wilshire Blvd 20 line in Los Angeles
That "coo" goes on all CNG buses, whether it's a 6v92G, 8v71G or some 4-stroke shit like the Cummins L10G, DD50G or the DD60G. It's really the turbocharger release.

That exact sound brings back memories of riding to school lol
I love these ZF transmissions, they emit a sweet shrill sound that somehow seems to "enhance" the engine's sound... It's amazing!
Do you mean the ZF Ecomat 5HP-500 transmission? Because TMC RTS-06 is CNG it signify of the small and powerful Cummins L10G engine.
@@christianluyando9782 The L10G is a pretty big engine, these came with heavier duty 5HP-590s.

I love the sound of all the old RTS's and the Orion Vs with the cricketing noise.
Woooo SHIT!
Those buses were fun to ride on the 103.
Hell yeah I miss seeing those buses on the b103 line back in the days I missed the command bus company
I've rode on 7172 on the Q23 many, many times.
If TMC Ever Comes Back From The Dead, I Think MTA Shud Order RTS CNG's.
I agree. I heard that Nova is talking of bringing back RTS production, not sure if it was rumor.
