  • I'm looking for a way to get more from my golf practice, track golf stats and have a better idea on what distances I hit my golf clubs, so one option that I've found is the PRGR Launch Monitor, but is it good value for money or just overrated?
    The PRGR launch monitor is pocket size and portable, relatively cheap when compared to something like a Track Man, and in theory shows you your clubhead speed, ball speed, smash factor, carry distance and total distance, so can it help me improve and hit more fairways and greens?
    After testing it on the golf course, driving range and in my hitting net, here is my prgr launch monitor product review.

    You did a GREAT review! I wish everyone would do reviews like you did. Right to the point, examples of how it works, your own thoughts and then end the video. I hate it when people literally show the packaging in the review. Who gives a $hit what the package looks like? Thanks and keep up the great work.

      Really appreciate the feedback, thanks!! I've been thinking similar about reviews, tend to think it's better to just get straight to it. Thanks for following and commenting.

    After watching this vid i ordered one. Looking forward to using it at the range to get a sense of how far I’m hitting the ball per club. Nice review 👍

      That's great, I'm excited for you! I've always found it to be a very solid unit and great value, I hope you enjoy it. It also goes really well with SuperSpeed Sticks if you ever look at doing some speed training. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Thanks for this review exactly what u was looking for. Like you touched on, hitting balls into a net isn't ideal without true feedback numbers

      No the numbers makes it so much more valuable!

    Got one last season to help practice wedge distance control. It is pretty accurate but throws in an odd reading every now and then but it’s accurate enough to be worth the money

    John’s wife sipping tea ☕️ watching John record his videos from the pantry window: “that net area in the corner would be a wonderful Sheshed.” 😆

    I got one and love it so far. Seems accurate and provides meaningful feedback when tinkering around with your swing. Let’s you know if a change is improving outcomes or decreasing performance.

    Hi, new to the channel. Excellent review. Can I ask what golf net you are using?

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  2 года назад +1

      Thanks and welcome! In that video the net was called something like a hakket. Since then, I've changed to a Net Return Pro - you can probably catching a glimpse of it in my recent video about the PRGR vs Mevo+. I'm pleased I switched to the Net Return, it seems more sturdy, was easier to build and I've generally got more confidence with it. Hope that helps.

    My PRGR lasted three year, the calibration is off both yardage and swing speed.

    What about spin? Side spin, deviation? These are useful when hitting into a net and you can't see what direction the ball is going

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  Год назад +1

      They're all great but this is more your entry level, budget option, so it's bang for buck and not all the features. You might like something like the Garmin or Flight Scope if you're after this type of features.

    I'm looking at getting this along with an optishot 2 so I can save money on going to the driving range, I seen it does carry distance and total distance, but can it give you both simultaneously, or is it one or the other?

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  Год назад

      Hey, you can toggle between total and carry for the shot you've hit, but you can't see them next to each other at the same time (you'd need to toggle).
      Totally up to you but if you do get one, you can save some extra money with this discount code for the Super Speed website:

      Just if it helps!

      No worries, sure you'll love it! The net is a Net Return (V3), theres a video on my channel about it if you want to know more. I got mine from a place called The Net Return Australia (but they're in the US etc as well). I have a Super Speed discount for PRGR devices if it helps. But all good products, hope you find what you're after! Good luck

    My monitor is not showing the yards on shots under 70 mph. Is this a common issue?

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  2 года назад +1

      Hi Gary, I think the one I had then was called a Rukket. I fairly recently changed to the Net Return. Got mine from the website called the Net Return Australia. It's great - I'm much more comfortable with it and it packs away very easily as well. Hope this helps.

    Great review Jon.
    Smash Factor is simply ball speed divided by club speed. 1.5 is ideal for driver.
    We really like the PRGR, and we wanted to track our practice sessions / speed training in more detail. So we created a dashboard that summarizes all of your practice data. All you have to do is take pictures of the device and upload them to input the data.
    It makes the PRGR monitor all the more valuable in our opinion.
    Check out the first video on our channel if you are interested.
