- I Made a HUGE MISTAKE buying one of these BUDGET Launch Monitors!? -
Hey Guys, in todays video I am testing the Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor vs. PRGR Launch Monitor Monitor.
To show you we will be testing it against a $50,000 professional simulator to see how accurate they really are.

Who says the simulator was correct
So...what exactly was the HUGE mistake you made buying one of these launch monitors? You seemed to be impressed by both of them. Was the HUGE mistake perhaps buying the $50,000.00 Simulator? Or, was this just a click bait title?

There is a newer version of the PRGR that is a little better for the wedge-shot readings. Also, the strength of PRGR is over-speed training because it will read dry swings. It measures club and ball speed and estimates distance.
You are right! They have a newer model. Do you have them at one?
Are you referring to the HS-130A or is there a newer one than that?
I have the current model aswell. Mainly for swingspeed training but that it works so well at the driving range is a very nice bonus for me and it weighs literally nothing.
Do you need a subscription for the prgr?
@@surfduder28 no but there is also no app for it. Just what you see on the display and it saves the last few 100 shots

I see a lot of lads at the range with a PRGR, even at trackman ranges. Comparing numbers and PRGR comes out with more believable numbers.
Yep I have a GC Quad and I specifically wanted to compare it with something else. (PRGR)

The better comparison is the measured clubhead and ball speeds. Distance relies on ball spin assumptions.
Love it! Great info for everyone, especially those of us on a budget!
Thanks Scott!
The R10 did well for distance, but where it didn't do well was for spin. Up to 3,000 RPM's off. That's probably due to it only being radar based and not having a camera. The Rapsodo MLM2Pro just came out and it has radar and cameras. I wonder if that would be the perfect low end launch monitor. Have you heard of it and do you have any plans to get one to test out?
I just released my initial review on the rapsod mlm2 pro today. Check it out
I wonder how it would do for spin if it was outdoor hitting on to a range instead of indoors? Or if you used specific CRT balls?
I love the PRGR for the range and for speed training. It is ultra light, ultra easy to use and accurate enough. No Phone needed, just one button press, put on the ground and you are ready.
The only way to check is go on a range with a trackman imho
How is the prgr used with baseball???
Bat swing speed? Do you have one
Buy PRGR for swing speed measurement and swing speed improvement. Compare swing speed with trackman distance chart
Agreed is that what you use it for?
@@GolfersAuthority planning to buy it. Another device I have in mind. It's just 40 dollars. Will tell you more about it after I test and use it
The R10 continues to impress in these tests.
I love it. But I was really surprised with the PRGR
I agree the PRGR is a great deal but, mine after 6 months has completely shutdown and will not turn on!
That is crazy. What are you going to replace it worh
The biggest advantage of the PRGR is its simplicity. You turn it on and locate it anywhere behind the ball. No pairing with your phone or iPad or computer. I'd say that the PRGR could even gap your clubs and give you an idea what the carry is with all of your clubs. All the information and data that you can get from this device is helpful and it will record up to the last 500 readings so you can go back and enter the values into your spreadsheet for eye opening raw data crunching analysis. That's if you're the statistical type.
Just bought mine and can't wait to get to work.
With the distance being so inconsistent I wouldn’t be using it for accurate gapping. Waste if your money I’d say. R10 is the absolute lowest quality point I’d even consider purely based on accuracy. Being half a club off consistently is extremely poor.
I’m really looking into the R10
Very nice review!
Thank you so much. Do you have the PRGR or the Garmin R10?
@@GolfersAuthority I have Garmin R10. I like it.
Your video is awesome 👏

You're welcome! Thanks for watching I appreciate it
You used the old model of prgr
Yeah, I just realized a new one came out. Do you have it? What are your thought's on it?
