      What I want in the next iteration of the R10 is working with my Garmin watch and CT10s to know what club I'm using and to track statistics like in a real golf game by club. I'd then like an AI coach in Garmin Range (or Awesome) to suggest things to work on. And finally, my one R10 problem area is under 20-yard chips. Sigh.

    The only reason to get rid of an R10, is you're blessed to be able to afford or get gifted a better LM. My baby Trackman (R10) was a preorder and is still kicking butt. Id still have it in my golf bag for the range even if I upgraded my Sim unit. Keep up Dave! From another OG R10 RUclipsr congrats on your success

      @@davidmaxfieldgolf Not for the money. NOTHING competes with a properly setup (bottom of box must be well above ball, over 17' from screen, and recalibrated) R10 for the money ($495 USD new). I am also an early adopter (fraught with problems until the first major update). And I've also a lifetime Awesome membership. Also, best buy for the money. $100 a year for Garmin Home Tee Hero gets me 42,000 courses. Then, I have three putting areas. $400 total. No need to simulate what can be done in real life. The 3 areas also mean lots for friends to do while they are waiting their turn on the simulator. Distance and spin rates are good enough without an RCT ball for me to differentiate between a range, $2, $4, and $6 ball. Fades and hooks, no problem. I use Range and Awesome products for different things. FREE Golf Shot Analytics separates the data. I also have an old working phone and tablet as swing cameras with FREE GolfFix AI Coach. MUCH better than your MLM cameras. I too can go back months online. I'm not missing anything. I have plenty of money to afford more. But it's simply quite clearly better spent elsewhere. As you say, there is no reason not to go with the Garmin R10 today. No need to spend 5+ minutes to setup the R10 software on your phone more than once (but for update). The Garmin R10 has the longest battery life of any golf monitor. You'd lose that with Wi-Fi. No thanks.

    Hey David! As many have probably told you, you were one of the people that inspired me to get my R10 a few years back and I’m so glad I did. Regardless of your content in the future, I cant wait to see it. I recently started using my R10 outdoors on grass ranges to get my accurate carry distances and I literally just got Awesome Golf this week. So there is no net, I am just hitting it out into the open range. In terms of setting it up can you tell me if I got this right? Make sure the unit is on the same level as the golf ball and line it up with your target line. I measure 7 feet back. Then I turn the unit on and calibrate it. Then I do not open the range section or anything else on Garmin and instead I open Awesome Golf and use the coaching section. From my understanding you have a 2 foot by 2 foot hitting area so 1 foot forward, left, right and back of the ball spot you originally marked. Is that all correct or should I modify anything? There isn’t anywhere to set up the 7 foot distance on Awesome Golf so that scared me since on the Garmin app you usually set the distance but in this case I dont set that up since you aren’t using the Garmin app. Also is there anywhere to save your coaching sessions? I didn’t see it anywhere. Thank you!

    100% agree For me that subscription on the mlm means that 5 years = 1000k more. So we have initial buy price which is more and subscribing costs … well at ~2k is it the best launch monitor in that bracket? And let’s not forget the subscription cost is just feature unlock - it costs them nothing to provide those services.

      It works great if you have the space. The biggest drawback for me personally was that you need at least 7 ft of space from the device to the ball and 8-10 feet for ball flight into a net or screen. I spent weeks messing with these distances and for my setup, I found this works best.

    Just wondering which is the next lm up from the r10 blp has some great deals at the moment but they want 500us gold subscription a year, and you need the sub to run gspro.

      Next step up from the r10 really is the mlm2pro and it begins to measure side spin and give you a lot more data than the r10 like impact vision etc. then up from that I think you should look at the skytrak+ as that’s the best unit for indoor home golf simulators available

    Have the r10. love it except i find the short game (under 20 yards) is very unpredictable. I know it's not meant for chipping and putting but even a lot of my bump and run shots are tricky to get accurate. Not usually a big deal as I go to proper practice ranges with greens for this, but I will say when you have the guys over for some "rounds" of golf in the garage, it can get annoying. any tips for improving bump and run accuracy or short game accuracy?
    the only thing that has helped a little is selecting that i have a 5iron in hand on the software yet I actually use the 8iron for low bump and run. maybe it's scanning lower launch angles this way?

    Just ditched my Garmin R10 as well after one year. Despite calibrating, setting it square on the ground each time on the range, lining it up correctly, I found myself making notes correcting the ball flight for 10-15% of the shots. Spin is not really too accurate, and esepcially R10 had a habit of registering fade spin for draws and vice versa. Then I realized that making notes to correct the ball flight is one thing, but much of the data on the shot would usually be worthless too. If you hit enough balls with it, merge it all in excel, you do get a pretty good average picture though so there is no denying the value for money. But since I had money to burn for the higher price echelon, got myself a Mevo+ which has just performed flawless on the range in the first session last weekend. Every ball flight was spot on matching what I saw.

  • @SincereFaith5.0
    @SincereFaith5.0 7 месяцев назад

    The ONLY issue I have with the MLM 2 Pro is if you don’t pay for the subscription…you lose the ONLY variant that separates it from the Garmin R10
    The Spin Axis…Rapsodo penalizes you if you don’t pay the subscription fee. So if you want to use it because your working on your game for directionality (Grip, cupping your wrists-slicers) then you have to pay the $200 - plus if you want to use GSPro or Awesome Golf it’s another $200 a year.
    So with the Rapsodo it could be $400 or more a year just to have that accurate spin data. (Directionality) not to mention all the connection issues I be seen it have. Dropping connection mid game- for one guys dozens of times in one video.
    While the R10- you can use the unit no subscription pay for $200 Awesome Golf and be done. And get Garmins higher level of connectivity reliability.
