What I want in the next iteration of the R10 is working with my Garmin watch and CT10s to know what club I'm using and to track statistics like in a real golf game by club. I'd then like an AI coach in Garmin Range (or Awesome) to suggest things to work on. And finally, my one R10 problem area is under 20-yard chips. Sigh.
The only reason to get rid of an R10, is you're blessed to be able to afford or get gifted a better LM. My baby Trackman (R10) was a preorder and is still kicking butt. Id still have it in my golf bag for the range even if I upgraded my Sim unit. Keep up Dave! From another OG R10 RUclipsr congrats on your success

Also, best buy for the money. $100 a year for Garmin Home Tee Hero gets me 42,000 courses. Then, I have three putting areas. $400 total. No need to simulate what can be done in real life. The 3 areas also mean lots for friends to do while they are waiting their turn on the simulator. Hey David! As many have probably told you, you were one of the people that inspired me to get my R10 a few years back and I’m so glad I did. Regardless of your content in the future, I cant wait to see it. I recently started using my R10 outdoors on grass ranges to get my accurate carry distances and I literally just got Awesome Golf this week. So there is no net, I am just hitting it out into the open range. In terms of setting it up can you tell me if I got this right? Make sure the unit is on the same level as the golf ball and line it up with your target line. I measure 7 feet back. Then I turn the unit on and calibrate it. Then I do not open the range section or anything else on Garmin and instead I open Awesome Golf and use the coaching section. From my understanding you have a 2 foot by 2 foot hitting area so 1 foot forward, left, right and back of the ball spot you originally marked. Is that all correct or should I modify anything? There isn’t anywhere to set up the 7 foot distance on Awesome Golf so that scared me since on the Garmin app you usually set the distance but in this case I dont set that up since you aren’t using the Garmin app. Also is there anywhere to save your coaching sessions? I didn’t see it anywhere. Thank you!
Hey mate, you’re correct with those measurements and yes awesome golf will save all of your sessions in the awesome golf community app. So you can just do there and see them 😁
100% agree For me that subscription on the mlm means that 5 years = 1000k more. So we have initial buy price which is more and subscribing costs … well at ~2k is it the best launch monitor in that bracket? And let’s not forget the subscription cost is just feature unlock - it costs them nothing to provide those services.
It works great if you have the space. The biggest drawback for me personally was that you need at least 7 ft of space from the device to the ball and 8-10 feet for ball flight into a net or screen. I spent weeks messing with these distances and for my setup, I found this works best.
Hi David…do you have comparison of Awesome Golf vs GSPro for MLM2 Pro? I just received my MLM2 Pro..I love it. Now looking to pair it with simulation software.

Just ditched my Garmin R10 as well after one year. Despite calibrating, setting it square on the ground each time on the range, lining it up correctly, I found myself making notes correcting the ball flight for 10-15% of the shots. Spin is not really too accurate, and esepcially R10 had a habit of registering fade spin for draws and vice versa. Then I realized that making notes to correct the ball flight is one thing, but much of the data on the shot would usually be worthless too. But since I had money to burn for the higher price echelon, got myself a Mevo+ which has just performed flawless on the range in the first session last weekend. I wish the garmin app was even decent but its trash. I mean atleast have a combine type thing.
It’s not great, they’re trying to improve it but I guess there’s no subscription and other third party offerings like GSPro
Bushnell BLP ball data only is the one to get off you're looking to play against others on something like gspro. No one wants to play anyone with anything that's using something short of a camera based system. Bottom line.
The mlm2pro uses a camera to read spin axis on the rpt balls
If you can't take it outside to hit it on a real range then it's a no brainer to me.
You can. It’s just going to give you range ball numbers
Respectfully, how do you have an iPad without WiFi? Second, that’s definitely not 9 feet to your screen from the ball. Good video though.
It’s 9 feet. Just looks closer because of the camera angle and I tether my phone
Since you’ve ditched it, feel free to just send the r10 to me!
😂 this one’s staying on the shelf. Present from Mum
R10 had its time. Others have surpassed it. It's time Garmin put out a new unit. Enough with new watches.
I do agree. Some updates need to be made. To the hardware
I just got mine. Really I'm not a pro, I want to play and practice, and this will work with awesome golf. So I'm good
Damn dude...really long winded to try and make your point.
Welcome to RUclips 😂 where every video on everything could literally be 3 mins
Since you ditched it can you send me it
No sir haha still love it, just don’t use it
so you've run out of things to talk about w/ the R10, thus can't create more content using it. No prob.
Didn’t say that, I just said that other units have come out and as a product reviewer I want to explore and show those units as well. So after doing well over 100 videos with the R10 I’ve pretty much covered it from every angle.
Please...take a lesson. OMG!
Some things can’t be fixed… just gotta work with it
Sooo much waffle and repetition...
Welcome to RUclips
Then put up your own videos exactly how you want them presented, so other keyboard warriors can tell you how to do it differently.
MLM 2Pro short chip shot is mess...
Most budget Doppler radar are the same
@@davidmaxfieldgolf but R10 works better buddy...
