I can't believe you mentioned the angle of attack on SkyTrak-it was the most important data I needed. I need to compress the ball more, and I was planning to practice on my own golf simulator. It was one of the key metrics I wanted. I had decided to buy it this weekend and started looking at reviews. Thanks to you, I now know that they do not provide this data. It seems crazy to me, especially at such price point. Thanks, great channel btw!
I use my r10 every time I go to the range. I play bandon dunes with a regular bucket most times and it has really helped me practice how I play. No subscriptions at all is a big plus for me
Bro you are amazing. You have pretty much single handedly (over months and years of me checking your reviews) finally gotten me to decide on a launch monitor (Rapsodo MLM 2 pro!). Is there any chance you could do a short video on budget golf hitting nets? I really need to pick one up and I'm struggling to figure out a budget one that is worth getting!
I think that mentioning the GC3 option from foresight would appeal to many since it includes all the options mentioned for the Bushnell without the penalizing subscription price structure. I have had, and loved, the GC3 for a couple of years now (previously the original SkyTrak) and feel it is the best monitor/simulator for the price especially as the years go by.
@@jeromebegany1634 I bought mine for just under 5K at one of their "special" sales. I think they still happen occasionally. Just checked their webpage and saw they have gone up a $k - haven't done the math on comparable cost to get the same packages over a period of time. When I bought mine it was just past 3 years when you ended up spending more on the Bushnell.
For the Skytrak+ AoA, as per their email reply from a Technology Specialist to my query about it: "We are planning on adding Angle of Attack at some point, but I am not sure when it will be added."
Thanks for the video Shawn. I had planned to go with the Garmin, but then measured my room and it’s right at 17’ long. I feel that would be too close for the Mevo+ or the Garmin. I seem to have landed on the Skytrack + , which after watching yours and other reviews, I think I may be ok. Your #2 helps confirm it.
Shawn, great reviews and great Intel for all things golf Sir. Quick question…have you seen the new Voice Caddie SC4 pro? Would like a review on this as if they have improved accuracy of data from original SC4, well may have a winner here! Thanks, Jeff!
Given the limitations of time, I think this was a really good rundown of the best launch menders typically found in the consumer market. It does seem to be influenced by a bias against subscriptions & in some cases rightfully so. I think it’s important to note with the radar units, they quote the minimum distances. Things get better if you have more room to let the ball fly.. The good news for me is this review reaffirmed that I made the right choice for myself with the Eye Mini . I got it at a great sale price and I doubt there is a better experience using a launch monitor with GS pro in the list.. The only surprise here was high praise for the sky track plus. As much as I wanted to. I just couldn’t like it And though it wasn’t mentioned here it’s almost impossible to use at the range. If integrated putting is important to you, the Eye Mini blows the sky track away when it comes to putting, and that was another influencing factor in my decision. If you’re short on space and can go the price of an Eye Mini, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. If your only use will be at home the Eye Mini Lite may be a money saving option but know that it does require power and works better with an attached Ethernet cable but also supports WiFi
Many of these I would eliminate as a choice. Based on ability to play sim golf with friends and left and right shooters. The Rapsoto and Mevo would be more my pick based on price and user friendly for buddy golfing!
Hi, breakingeighty. I really cant find a good review for the GolfZone wave anywhere. This launch monitor intrigues me because of its putting capabilities and technology. I would love to see a review of this product because most launch monitors are not specifically meant for putting.
Surprised the SC4 was considered best monitor under $500. I returned mine because of how inaccurate it is (especially the spin numbers). Picked up the original MLM on a whim at the PGA store for on course ball tracking and tested it against my GC3 using a RCT ball on my sim (new firmware updated.. you should review this) and its extremely accurate. Carry numbers and spin numbers are nearly dead on to my GC3 so for under $500, I would suggest taking a look at the MLM with the new firmware update. Only thing that was slightly off was launch angle but its consistently off by ~2 degrees for me.
Consider what it includes, as well as the price structure, the MLM Pro 2 seems to have just sold me as the winner :) If, at some point, I have the ability to turn the garage into a full-on simulator, making the move to something that can project high-quality simulations onto a screen would be the next move, but we're MANY years away from that, so it's just me hitting into a net outside in the meantime. One thing I would say, that you didn't directly cover about the MLM Pro, is that you need to use the proprietary dotted balls. I believe they often are bundled with the monitor, so maybe that's why it's not in there, but it is something to consider, especially if they wear down after a while. Personally, that's just another cost to count, as getting spin numbers is my major priority, since I'll be treating the outdoor net as my "range" and will need to know what's actually happening to the ball :) Really (REALLY) appreciate the breakdown here, and keep up the incredible work!
Just ordered the full swing kit. Primarily for outdoor use, but also plan on using it indoors as well. You mentioned that results indoor were inconsistent. Any one metric more off than another? I liked the ease of setup, outdoor accuracy, and convenience of not needing to use stickers for club data. Thanks for the review.
I recently tested a FS Kit along with the Mevo + with Pro Plan against a Trackman 4. It was indoors with plenty of room behind (10 ft for the Kit and 8 ft for the Mevo+). The screen was over 11 ft from from the RCT balls. Outcomes from the indoor test were: 1. Mevo+ error is more random than the FS Kit. FS Kit was consistently short of Trackman, while Mevo+ was sometimes larger, sometimes shorter. 2. Mevo+ was sometimes off by a larger number than the FS Kit was 3. Mevo+ showed the proper shot shape every time (not available on FS Kit) 4. Mevo+ missed only one shot of the over 100 swings taken, FS Kit missed none, and Trackman missed two. 5. Mevo+ is accurate for some short chips, while the FS Kit does not see chips at all. Pretty much need a 35-40 yd shot for the FS Kit to register. Both Mevo+ and FS Kit are awesome. Mevo+ excels at simulation in comparison. FS Kit is so easy to use and gives you just the right amount of info.
Thank you for making these reviews, they are extremely helpful. Have you had the opportunity to get your hands on the "GolfJoy Golf Waver Launch Monitor?" I would like to see your review when you do.
At least where I am, launch monitors are a bit of an issue due to space constraints. But the problem is the cost - for something like the Skytrack+ which I really like it is not just the cost of the launch monitor but I would need a PC to run the simulator software, fit out a dedicated space and then still have to pay subscription costs. Alternatively, I have an indoor practice facility 5 minutes down the road where for c.$100 a month I can play using an ultra high end launch monitor twice a week for free with endless numbers of courses (more if I want to pay a bit extra), a lesson with a golf pro every month - and it has a bar to relax in with friends.
2 Questions: 1) Any insights to the experience of using E6 for sim golf on a newer iPhone/iPad? I know it's "compatible" but wondering what the ease of use/graphics quality is like when compared to the PC version - if I can avoid spending money on a PC that'd be great. Also, 2) Can you share a bit more about using the Mevo+ with limited ball flight? I have 8 feet behind and only 8 feet of flight, and I know it recommends 13 feet of flight. I've read about issues with driver shot accuracy with less than 13 feet of flight - any feedback on that? Thanks!
I have e6, mevo+, and r10. Quality is good but not great. Still, a really fun experience. The screen fit may be tricky with your iPad. It's a little short on each side but still nice. E6 confirmed it's the iPad and hitting screen but with PC it's not an issue.
The Mevo Plus seems to rank very high with youtubers with a lot of experience. When you go to reddit/or user groups, there seem to be people who struggle to get it set up right, have poor driver distance numbers, or the putting and chipping is wonky.

I do not pay for the subscription and still really enjoy it.
I am so disappointed in the mevo plus. It seems to work fine outdoors at the range, where i can see my ball flight anyway, but indoors it is terrible. I can hit a pure drive with my driver and it shows about 40% less yards than I would ever see on a course. same with every club. I have measured and calibrated and set up over and over. 8 feet from the mevo to where I hit the ball. 8-13 feet to the net. I get the same results when my garage is well lit by sunlight or by the normal garage lighting. I am using Titleist RCT balls. I would return it in a heartbeat but they not make it clear that when you buy the pro package that the software part (the pro part) is non-refundable, so $750 dollars for nothing.
