I owned a mevo+. I strongly strongly advise that if you don't have that 19ft+ total space, that you don't waste your money. It gave my very wonky spin numbers and as this guy says, it can't factor in gear affect, at least when I had it. In my opinion, you really should have this affect accounted for at least somehow, as it can make a huge difference in ball flight.
When you're using the simulator with right handed friends over, playing rounds, is it as simple as just moving the SkyTrak+ when it's your turn to hit, or is it more cumbersome than that? Thanks!
Great insight into both devices. What’s your thoughts on the club (wedge) matrix and club mapping with the ST+? I’m on the fence between these two devices. Space wise I’m very close with Mevo, so ST+ would be the winner…just don’t want to have “buyers remorse” afterwards. Keep up the great content
I think gspro has club mapping as well and I’m guessing the FS app does so I don’t think you’ll miss out on it. I think they are both great devices, when I’ve had the guys over they’ve shows more enjoyment with the consistency of the Mevo plus but they are both great devices at the end of the day and if space is tight I might go skytrak plus. You for sure need at least 18.5 feet. If you have that comfortably I think probably mevo. But their really close at the end of the day
Hi nice video. I’ll just be using this outside in my cage/net that I’m building. Is the Mevo Plus Pro Package at $2,500 worth it over the Garmin R10 that I can get new for $500 and Awesome Golf for $300? So basically a $1,700 difference.
I 1000% think it is. The garmin struggles with driving significantly and is a big step below the Mevo. I currently own 8 simulator devices and the Mevo+ is still the one I use the most.
@@GolfBusters Thanks for the quick reply. Looking to setup a sim and your channel has been great to get a good idea on what to aim for. Just subscribed. Cheers
The Mevo + is not going to be my choice for my situation. I’m waffling back and forth between the skytrak + and the Bushnell launch pro. I have some that same skytrak and others that say Bushnell. The only reason I have not bought the Bushnell is yet is because of the yearly subscription fees. I know at the end of the day it is my choice but this is a lot of money for me and I MUST make a wise choice. Any wisdom on this choice?
Now that skytrak+ has a full integration with gspro (albeit not official) I would go with the skytrak+, I think the two units are very close and you get more club data with the skytrak+. Send me and email at golfbustersofficial@gmail.com and I can probably get you an extra discount code as well.
Have you ever tested the Mevo+ in a smaller hitting zone? Say 7-8 feet of ball flight and the unit 6-7 feet behind the hitting area? I wonder if the unit would be accurate with the shorter distance to read the shots. You know your numbers so good from playing indoors that you'd be able to tell instantly.
What about short chips with the MEVO+? My garmin has a really hard time with chips under 20 yards. I am forced to hit 60 degree flop shots when im 10-20 yards away.
Thanks for a great comparative review! I prefer the Mevo + cause I pay once and I'm done. However, space is somewhat of an issue. I have the 8' of distance from the hitting mat back to the Mevo +. But, I may have a potential problem if the 'required' field of view for the Mevo +, to function at its highest potential, cannot look down an 8', narrow corridor (I am exaggerating for clarity of my issue but I do have a solid object to the front & left that narrows the field of view). If all I need is a straight on, line of sight to the golf ball then I am good. Do you think I should be concerned?
I was looking at your setup for the mevo+ it looked very close, the FS guys say it should be 8 ft away yours looks more like 5. that might be the perspective of the video but how far was it? I find the mevo+ to be very in accurate indoors, but great outdoors. I have tried many times with FS support but it still thinks my 7 iron goes 120 yards. I am probably moving to a photometric based monitor.
I have my Mevo 8 feet to ball and 10.5 feet of flight with RCT balls while selecting the rct ball option in gspro. Carry yardages are the exact same as other big name units from my tests
@@GolfBusters Thanks for clarifying your setup and that you find it working correctly, it gives me some hope. Outdoors against trackman it is spot on. My indoor my 7 iron is 120, outdoor with mevo on the range its 145. have yet to find what is wrong with the indoor setup.
@@GolfBusters Thanks for that reply. I am familiar with the notion of indoor swing syndrome, i do not have as much width as you have so I can see it as a possibility with my driver, but my pw is right on the number. i can't imagine my 7 iron swing is slower indoor than outdoor when its an inch( or so ?)longer than the pw. I wish i could say that was the reason, i need to try and validate that. But if you know you speed is different indoor to outdoor and you have so much indoor room, i cant rule out the possibility.

@@GolfBusters That's my point.. The flight path never CLEARLY crosses the line to target in any video I've ever seen. It shouldn't be that hard for a pro to demonstrate the capabilities of the product by shaping a shot that starts out by getting 10 or 15 yards left of the target line at its apogee, then fades/slices and hits the ground 10 to 15 yards to the right of the target line. After all, this is how a lot of amateurs deal with their slices; i.e. by aiming to the left of the target.
