Mevo+ is by far the best LM for the money. The next unit with the same data is Trackman or GC4. For my home Sim I just swapped from the Mevo+ with the Pro Package to the Eye Mini tho. It’s slightly more accurate indoors.
This has been known to have issues in garages mind. It needs a MINIMUM of 16’ of space, which by the time you install an impact screen, eliminates most uk garages. It also doesn’t like metal garage doors. For smaller spaces at a similar price point, the older skytrak is a great option as the metrics are near identical. The new skytrak is a bit more pricey for not much more ability….in my opinion.
Bought one with the pro package for my daughter and myself. Excellent using in the net at home and on the range. Better to have plugged into the mains as the battery life isn’t great.
I've had the Mevo+ for 3yrs, love it. Didn't find any significant difference when not using the stickers, not using the stickers and the RCT balls. Haven't upgraded to the pro or clubface but definitely suggest the courses upgrade. Great review Mark.
Been using the Mevo+ since it came out, and strongly agree that it's necessary to get with the Pro Package and Face Impact. My coach uses Trackman 4 and the numbers between the two are virtually identical - albeit the Mevo isn't as usable on course but without the 20k pricetag of the TM4. I'd suggest rather than getting E6, rather get a GS Pro subscription (ditto applies for your Quad - they now offer integration for the Foresight devices).
Great review mark I’ve owned mine for 2 and half years I’ve had hours of fun with it good to see you compare it the gc quad and perform well keep up the good videos
Great review. I own the first vesion of the mevo+ and it is just a great device. Yes, there are tradeoffs (battery, lining it up,..) but imho the pros overweigh the cons by far!
i got the hardware but dont own e6 gspro or the pro package. I don't have a home simulation set up yet so just be going to range. Should I wait till I get a home sim to then get the gs pro stuff and pro package?
Can you set favourite course setups? Like if I only play hard fast greens, firm fairways, sunny weather, back tees, etc. Can I save that as a fav so i don't have to keep entering that every round? And just to clarify, I heard you mention the dots required. Are they required indoors on the clubs or just the ball or not at all? I prefer not at all so I can use the actual ball I play for real.
I wonder about this vs GC3 since this gets up to 3 or 4K for the upgrades. But you are correct this is a great unit for sure. Way better than sky track in the same category
What do you consider to say way better than the Skytrak? Have you tried both? What was your experience…. Based on the info I have, my feeling is the opposite! Thanks!
Can you use this with foam golf balls with the stickers on them? My first assumption is no but was just curious if this was a thing or not. More for when the kids are wanting to hit. Great review and really considering to purchase for at home!
On the range while using irons and taking divots, I’m assuming you have to recalibrate the mevo + if you move your ball over for divot free ball placement?
How does it handle range balls? Trackman offers the conversion to high spec balls. Does Mevo offer the same or will it give me distances based on the range ball?
I think you've missed the mark (no punn intended....) with E6. As someone who sells Flightscope products and is an extensive sim golfer, I would say GSPro everyday of the week. We need to get you a subscription to test with. It's far superior to anything else. Absolutely leaves E6 for dead. E6 is fantastic and is a great piece of software. the Golf Club 2019 is also a fantastic bit of kit. K I have played both extensively and they are both exceptional at what they are built to do. So I'm not in anyway knocking their product for being poor. They aren't. It's just that GSpro has managed to take what they are and create a technology that will continue to improve and keep getting better for years to come. I'd really love to hear a genuine review from you and coach and maybe even a 3 hole match between you both. There are some incredible courses there to play.
Hi Mark, I am thinking of getting one to use at the driving range. My question is - will the bay dividers affect the radars accuracy and will it pick up other peoples golf balls so it also affects its accuracy? Thanks
I bought the first mevo. Originally, it performed fairly well. Was great for practicing distance control. However, at some point the numbers become very unreliable. Like Mark said in the video, my unit uses Bluetooth to connect. The connection was completely unreliable, I had to keep switching my phone off and on. When I contacted flight scope, they didn't want to entertain me.
Question about the updating process. Does it update when plugged into a computer instead of a tablet / phone? My hunch is they figured most people would apply updates with it hooked up over USB, hence the annoying conundrum you found with regards to not being on the internet when connected to the Mevo+. Great review! This is at the top of my list for a good practice unit to send data back to my coach! Cheers!
If you use a PC or Android the software downloads the Firmware update when you are connected to internet (Don't connect to the LM, start the app and check for updates ) It will install the update next time you connect to the FS without having to connect to the internet.
I’m interested in only for outdoor range practice. Worth it? Just Mevo+ + or is Pro package needed to get the full benefit of a full launch Flightscope launch monitor?
Hello: I have a setup question about the Mevo Plus. I have a mat that has holes for Ts. The normal fairway grass area and a taller grass rough area. When setting up the Mevo you need to align the digital setup ball with the actual ball. Since the ball could be on a T, on the fairway, or in the rough and those are separate areas of the mat do I need to resetup the Mevo after every shot?
I know the Ball data has very good accuracy when the setup is correct. How about the Club Data. I haven't seen any comparisons with Trackman or GCQuad of the Pro Package parameters.
Can you do a summary of the total cost with extras you recommend? A spreadsheet screen for your review would be helpful. Also, more on the home setup specs.
My indoor set up was £3000 Mevo, golf mat, archery net and projector. You can use E6 software which gives you 6 free course and a range, but it totally comes alive when you use it with GSPro £200pa over 800 courses but you will need a £1200 PC with a 4080 Graphics card.
Owners manual says that there must be 13'(4m) of distance between the ball and the screen and that aluminum stickers are required with limited flight.. There's no way I see 13' between the tee and the screen on the video - or most any video review I've seen on youtube. 13' is a LONG distance and between that and the 8' you need between the sensor to the tee it makes it certainly makes it a deal breaker in my garage.
@@MarkCrossfield Thank you. If I just want to use a device to know my distances for each club, would I be better getting this or the Flightscope Mevo, which is a lot cheaper and smaller? Have you reviewed the Mevo?
Only in price, Camera based LMs apart form Skytrack are spot on for home use they don't need the space of a radar LM which the Mevo is. I have a mevo if I could afford a GC3 I'd swap in a flash and the BLP won't be in the UK anytime soon.
I have the original SkyTrak unit but that doesn’t measure club data (it does a “based on the ball data the club data PROBABLY looks something like this” thing instead). Be interested to know what the club data on this looked like compared to a quad that knows based on the dots. Anyone got any feedback on that?
Balls don't last that long hitting into a net you need to rotate about 10 balls a session, I used RCT for 2 months £70 lasted 2 months then went back to Kirkland cheap balls, they last for ever and I have used the same silver dots the mevo comes with, I just peel off and put on another ball I've had a mevo 2 years. The ball flight is the same as in real life.
I’m looking to use solely on the range in the uk (I’m new to the country). I’m concerned about the distance needed behind the ball as most ranges I’ve seen are enclosed/under cover. Has anyone got any thoughts or experience of this, and suggestions? Thanks
whilst this has more features than the Garmin R10 i have - for the price it should come with at least bluetooth so you dont have to disconnect to get to the wifi
For me that launch monitor sits at an awkward place in the market. To have a complete package, you've got to pay 4k ish. That's a lot. But that give "semi-pro level features". However you can get most of the same features and a slightly lower but comparable accuracy with much cheaper launch monitors like the MLM2pro and you can get almost totally pro features for not that much more (GC3, and so on). If I had 4k to spend on a launch monitor, I'd heavily hesitate. Get a MLM2pro and use the added money for 3rd party softwares, a better projector and a better impact screen? Or save a bit more and get full on a buy a second hand Trackman, or maybe a GC3? Not sure I'd go Mevo+, personally. SkyTrack plus is also an interesting contender, using quite a bit less space. Or an old Skytrack from way back when, for a fair bit less, allowing more money for the simulator itself.
At 8:11 it looks like the golfer is only 7 or 8 feet from the screen. Is it still as accurate even though the manual says there needs to be 13 feet between the tee and the screen??
Is it fair to compare Mevo+ to the GCQuad? Mevo+ is a radar launch monitor, GCQuad is a camera based monitor, a fair comparison would be against a Trackman 4. I get that GCQuad is the ‘industry standard’, but they both get their data in a completely different way.
That would be the point, wouldn't it? Both work differently but when you hit a ball, the ball does only one thing, and you'd like to have the thing in question shown whatever the capture method. Plus a GCQuad sits on the side when the radars (all of them, Trackman or Flightscope) sit behind the ball. At the same place, more or less. And the radar beams will certainly interact with one another and cause interferences... Not great either.
@@francoisdesmoulins-lebeaul4273 this is not complicated. Ball data fair game. Club data simple understanding how they capture allows for a compare. This debate is from about 8 years ago when people didn’t get the difference. It’s all very simple in today’s world. 👍👍👍 we have the data on it. 👍

There is no way anyone should buy this. Are you going to compare those to a track man or a GC quad because otherwise it’s just yap yap that it’s accurate really how accurate is it? I love your show I’m just tired of these reviews that end up being nothing.
If your indoor with the right space and have a 100-105 Driver CHS it's Awesome, Lobs to 4 yards can be hit and miss when your on a course sim, but I pitch and run them Mevo doesn't like short spinny lob hits. Putting has just been sorted and works to the correct distance on GSPro or E6 and IRL up to 60 feet. But yeah it's good.
@@MarkCrossfield GC3/BLP and eye mini are both better options. No need for radar indoors as it’s not nearly as reliable as camera based systems. The space constraints are also better for camera based systems. Not even mentioning the eyexo which is amazing in its own right. Also, gspro as a software is a must. Far and away the best sim software.
@@MarkCrossfield indeed it is. I, as well as countless others started with a mevo +, and most everyone I know has moved onto either a gc3 or an eye mini. I went from a mevo to a gc3 and have an eyexo now, and it makes the mevo look like a toy. The fact that people “move on” from the mevo tells you all you need to know. Now I know the title of this video is to get a reaction but the mevo isn’t even close to the best home sim.
Just an observation, you go into great detail on yardage from the tee, but not a mention about how far left or right difference from more expensive units, this is a vital statistic with no mention! Could you re test and give us the difference between distance left or right please 🏌🏿♀️
In the right space it is spot on, indoor if you have a space ball to net less than 12 feet only the distance of driver is reduced, you always need 8 feet ball to mevo, if you have a CHS on a driver of 100-105, it's spot on distance and trajectory if you have a driver CHS over 110 the distance of carry will be reduced by about 10-20 yards. At a range it's Awesome.
This is one of the MOST POWERFUL devices in this field for features and accuracy. Haha people are funny. Not saying other devices are not good. Skytrak etc etc but Mevo plus is one of the leaders in this category.

The putting has been sorted, it's very good to 60 feet now. Before anything over 20 feet was hit and hope.
There is no way anyone should buy this. Are you going to compare those to a track man or a GC quad because otherwise it’s just yap yap that it’s accurate really how accurate is it? I love your show I’m just tired of these reviews that end up being nothing.
I did compare to quad. In the video. You seem a little triggered.
@@MarkCrossfield😂😂😂
If your indoor with the right space and have a 100-105 Driver CHS it's Awesome, Lobs to 4 yards can be hit and miss when your on a course sim, but I pitch and run them Mevo doesn't like short spinny lob hits. Putting has just been sorted and works to the correct distance on GSPro or E6 and IRL up to 60 feet. But yeah it's good.
No, it’s not.
What is?
@@MarkCrossfield GC3/BLP and eye mini are both better options. No need for radar indoors as it’s not nearly as reliable as camera based systems. The space constraints are also better for camera based systems.
Not even mentioning the eyexo which is amazing in its own right.
Also, gspro as a software is a must. Far and away the best sim software.
@@runpuddrun GC3 is great
@@MarkCrossfield indeed it is.
It’s the BEST value. The LMs you mention cost switch as much as not even close to the same amount of data available.
90 minutes battery ? That's rip off for the price
This is one of the MOST POWERFUL devices in this field for features and accuracy. Haha people are funny.
Not saying other devices are not good. Skytrak etc etc but Mevo plus is one of the leaders in this category.
