I cancelled my order for iPhone 15Pro Max because of all the reported problems… major overheating issues, stupidly fragile back glass which shatters very easily and the much featured titanium edges actually scratch terribly. What REALLY annoys me is that Apple do longer sell the iPhone 14 ProMax (which you eluded to) trying to force new customers into buying the troublesome 15 Pro Max model. Any advice would be much appreciated 😊

From my month using it, i havent found overheating an issue (hasn't happened for me), back glass is strong, but I have scratched it (seems soft, but strong) but I do have a case on it now. Honestly its a wicked upgrade with the Log video and 120mm camera. I love it.

      My honest 2 cents:
I understand wanting to be cautious because $1200 is a lot to pay for a phone. But I seriously think that the "issues" with the iPhone 15 Pro Max have been blown way out of proportion by outrage-farming RUclipsrs (not Jonny, he's cool) who are just looking for clicks.
      - overheating was fixed in a software update a while ago, the overheating "scandal" was blown way out of proportion to begin with and is a complete non-issue now.
      - the back glass shattering is also a non-issue. If you intentionally try to snap your phone in half by using two hands and bending as hard as you can, then it's on you when the phone breaks. No human being using the phone normally is gonna have problems. maybe there's a small chance the phone could be damaged if the user sits on it while it's in a jeans back pocket (but that sounds more like a carelessness / skill issue than a build quality issue)
      - the titanium edges scratching can be a legitimate issue for the darker colored models, but for white / natural titanium it won't show as much. The thing is, whether they make the phone out of stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, plastic, magnesium, depleted uranium, tungsten, whatever -- the best way to keep it looking new is to put a skin or case on it. That's not an iPhone problem, that's just the reality of how materials wear over time. It sucks that the titanium can get scratched up, but using a case has always been the most straightforward way to protect a phone
      - Apple always discontinues the previous year's Pro models. the 11 Pro was discontinued when the 12 Pro came out. 12 Pro discontinued when 13 Pro came out. 13 Pro discontinued when 14 Pro came out. 14 Pro discontinued now that the 15 Pro is out. If you really want a 14 Pro instead of a 15 Pro, your best bet is to look on the used market and try to find a good deal on one that's in good condition, I took a quick look and around $800 or $900 USD seems to be the market value. Buying a used phone is a good way to save money as long as you have some sort of buyer protections to protect yourself against scammers.
If you wanted the 15 Pro Max enough to have ordered it, I think you would be fine going through with the order. Ultimately it's your decision though

I would love to order the 15 pro max, but there is no apple shipping to my country and the price from other suppliers is $1400+ depending on the color.
