On the Larry Sanders Show, when Paula's worrying about a lump in her breast starts to affect her job performance, Artie pulls her aside for a little pep talk.
Rip Torn was priceless! This scene is tears in my eye from laughing funny. "The Monolgue died. Bob's (Hope) timing went to sh*t all because he was thinking of my left nut." LMAO!
The reason Rip Torn was so funny in his role as Artie was because he played him straight. He just made him a believable, real character and let the script do its work. He never "acted funny".
I loved watching the Larry Sanders show, all the time I could watch it free in hotels, while on the road as a musician. When are the reruns going to be on regular cable, or network?
it's a good touch - let's us know that probably * he said something viscous * that he knew it was going to hurt (he did it intentionally) * that he really regrets it
@@charleskennedy1712 The other thing - I've just started watching these clips that have Garofalo in them - he leaves AT LEAST one comment (often more) under EACH ONE to make sure everyone knows he isn't fond of Garofalo. N O B O D Y C A R E S.
The best American comedy tv show ever. Rip Torn was brilliant.
Rest In Peace Artie.
This is comic brilliance

"How about a shot of Maker's Mark?"
You can never make up for the sin of making Elke Summer cry.
Brilliant ground breaking show!!!

The acting was really good on that show. It was magic.
Hilarious! Artie is the greatest.
Oh god I want to go back in time to when something this good was possible, cuz for whatever reasons now it's not.
I know, back then there were great actors, fantastic writing, excellent producers but all that is gone, replaced by junk.
Artie is King!
Back when Paula was hot.
Eeehhhh.
I totally have a crush on garofalo for decades now.
0:29 I need to work on my, "oh sit down I'm not done" delivery. 🤣
Stole every scene he was in.

Best American "sit com"...... "Curb Your Enthusiasm is right up there tooo...".....
Hill-lair!
I love that he had to clarify that he wasn't proud of making her cry, this show is too much and never fails to get a laugh out of me.

Janene Garofalo plays herself in everything. How is that 'acting", my dog can do that?
or maybe she’s great but you don’t like her politics Trumpie
