We're celebrating our first ever Dia de Los Muertos, also known as Day of the Dead to English speakers, in Aguascalientes Mexico. Before coming to this city, we had no idea what to expect for Dia de Muertos OR the city itself. Now, we can safely say that neither the hype about this Mexican holiday nor the city itself let us down. We had an absolute blast at the Isla de San Marcos celebrations in Aguascalientes and all across the city.
As the Dia de Muertos festivities come to a close, we try to enjoy the last bits of time in what we think is an incredibly underrated city in Mexico. Everyone talks about the Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico in Patzcuaro and the surrounding cities or the big shenanigans in Mexico City, but we can't imagine why no one considers Aguascalientes!
We only planned to stay here for a few days during our Dia de Los Muertos trip, but the kind and generous people, polite drivers, beautiful sunsets, and charming culture have us planning another trip back to Aguascalientes PRONTO!! :)

I just arrived yesterday from Aguascalientes where I was for 2 months aguas kalientes I had a great tiime ,sadly i'm back home to canada ( very cold) but l'll be back in the future to a great city in central mexico
Recommend you to go during April in la feria de san marcos it is the best ever. I was born there and trust me i travel a lot and never seem a festival as good as la feria de san Marcos

It's funny how us Mexicans STILL view Aguascalientes as this small town with no relevance whatsoever. But to most Europeans I've met here it's a big city, too big for them sometimes.

I love Aguascalientes! It’s my hometown and it’s so beautiful! Next time you go there definitely go during april so you can see the Feria de San Marcos, it’s one of the biggest state fairs in the country!

@@bryanjimenez5845 oh i used to live in kansas but i moved back because of family. aguascalientes is honestly big, like when i left 8 years ago and now is a big difference to how it grew. obviously when there was no covid it was really fun bc of the fairs and the events. i doubt that the Feria de San Marcos will happen this year but there’s still plenty to see. people still go out but obviously with precaution and masks(well some bc some are dumb). and 18 is a good age so you can basically do anything here. i’m underage but i just need one more year to be 18 haha so i’ll be doing more stuff soon. if you want to know more u can dm me on any social media, do u have insta?

I can confirm as a Mexican who travels around Mexico with my mom by bus a lot, every time we pass through Aguascalientes, I always have to point out how clean the streets look and are compared to a lot of other places I’ve been to that aren’t touristy cities lol. I always tell my mom that people in this city must make decent money because the houses look nice too 😂

La vida es muy tranquila alli esa es otra razom por la que muchos se van a vivir alli.

@@mtradz Aguascalientes is not dangerous, but you want it to happen if you are fighting to stop different posters that try to get into the state, Aguascalientes is surrounded by Zacatecas de los Z and CDG, Jalisco CDJNG and San Luis Potosi, Here you will never see vans with armed men walking as if nothing, much less killing innocent people, and no country is 100% safe, in the US there are shootings in schools and events and that happens very often, in Asia is the Yakuza mafia, in Spain, Fancia, etc. . Aguascalientes is the city which México calls “La Tierra de la gente buena” 👉🏻”The land of the good people” it’s also a really quiet and safe place to live ❤️🙌🏻. You should definitely stay for more days so you can discover more things in the city. Living in Aguascalientes it’s pretty awesome 😀and as you said the people is really nice.

You have to return visit Museo de los Muertos and the Jose Guadalupe Posada museum, also Cristo Roto in SanJose deGracia about 15 minutes outside city with beautiful views. I own a home outside Aguascalientes in a small town up in the mountains its awsome.

I’m from Dallas Texas and my parents are from Calvillo Aguascalientes , we have been going to Aguascalientes since 2005 and never have I ever been able to go for the fiestas . I don’t know this gets me happy for having parents from such a beautiful place. It’s an amazing place to go , every year I try to go every time I get a chance .I LOVE AGUASCALIENTES MEXICO ! Hi! I'm happy you liked my city Aguascalientes :) the name of the city comes from de combination of the words "aguas" 'calientes" (hot waters) because the city used to have a lot of thermal waters ( there are only a few now)
I was Born in Aguascalientes mx over 30 years ago I left to the States when I was 6 months old. I only been there once ten years ago I loved the city I come to youtube to learn the history and my dad also tell me a lot about our home state since he's born there as well. great video guys looks awesome out there.!!!!
On april 21st we have the Feria Nacional de San Marcos. It is honestly a unique experience. You should visit and take a look around... lots of cultural activities and of course lots of drinking and eating. Fun stuff.

Whenever you come back, be completely sure Aguascalientes will receive you with the same charity as they do in the beginning, it's a very tiny town, but with a LOT of history, You've had only seen Aguascalientes in Dia de los Muertos,which is super cool, but there are a lot more thing to do here, so, when you come back for second, third or anytime you want, I offer me to be your guide in the city, also, there are many villages arround full of colors that are interesting to visit.

Absolutely underrated, it's my hometown. Anytime is good to visit, but definitely the best season to go is April-May, for the biggest fair in the world.

8:32 that looks delicious. However the traditional pan de muerto is not as decadent as that. It's just a simple citrus flavoured bread, sometimes with sesame seeds or sugar sprinkled on top. So no need to worry about diabetes. Lol
My hometown is beautiful I miss it so much... You should go in April to "La feria de San Marcos" it is one of the greatest celebrations in México, lots of fun, cultural things to do and to see and....yes...lots of alcohol.
