      That is the difference between Six Flags, & Cedar Fair parks. Six Flags takes care of their old timer rides.

    I remember when Viper first opened. Local radio DJs Mark & Brian took a ride on it while on the air. They gave a play by play of the experience.

    I will always been shocked at how smooth viper was. It was great when I rode as a kid in 2005 and it was just as great as an adult in 2019. Vortex felt like it was going to snap my neck but this thing is so smooth even though its much taller and faster I will never understand it. Its even smoother than Magnum.

      @@MrCrash-hz8xy I hope not. This ride is legendary and it's the very last Arrow mega looper out there. I mean it's already sad enough that a lot of classic Arrow looper's are slowly disappearing.

      Johan Eights yeah I know the ride is definitely legendary. It would be hard to see it go. Yeah a lot of arrow loopers don’t exist anymore. I’m glad steel phantom was saved even tho the inversions were removed

    It’s really a shame not many Arrow looping coasters like this one exist.
    I suppose they’ll keep this one running for as long as they can before the time may be right to replace it with something new.
    It’ll be sad to see it go, but sadly it is what it is. I remember back in 2010 when I heard of the removal of Great American Scream Machine from Great Adventure. I was deeply saddened because I loved it so much after my first, and sadly, only ride on it earlier that year in late June, weeks prior to its permanent closure. I hoped the replacement would be something fun and new but instead they replaced it with a B&M Stand Up coaster named Green Lantern (originally Chang before they relocated it from Kentucky Kingdom).
    Not that I hate Green Lantern or anything, it’s just that the Stand Up coaster model is just unpopular nowadays. I suppose in an alternate timeline Six Flags would’ve waited a few more years before they could close GASM and replace it with a Wing Coaster since it was a new B&M coaster model at the time Green Lantern had opened in its new home.
    Then again it isn’t really too late for them to do so. They could still relocate Green lantern to a different park and have it converted to a floorless coaster as well (Seeing as how Great Adventure already has one named Bizarro), and maybe build a B&M wing coaster at some point in the future.

    If you want them to wreck this ride and replace it with a new coaster then you are not a coaster enthusist. Coaster enthusiasts want historic rides to be preserved for future generations. This park has tons of coasters this one is unique like x2 the rest are just copies of other rides from other parks. Sure this was once a copy but now it's the only one standing. Six flags really should sell it to somebody instead of scrapping it if they do destroy it.

      @airtimethrillsrawfootage9558  2 года назад +1

      I doubt it would be moved at this point. I hope they keep it around because it's one of their better rides

    • @retrochristmas7329
      @retrochristmas7329 2 года назад

      @@airtimethrillsrawfootage9558 I know they won't move it. But the thing is if you own a amusment park you should have a obligation to preserve historical rides. At least offer the ride for sale. I guarantee if they listed vortex online for sale it would have been purchased by another smaller park. Keep in mind even though it's old in some country's that coaster would be the greatest in the entire country. I just hate how corporate parks have no respect for the rides that make them the money. Wicked twister is a perfectly functional ride and cedar point will scap it because theybdont care. They didn't care about letting people go to geauga lake one last time they just closed it and told us all to screw off. They destroyed a entire city over that. The entire area where geauga lake use to be is a run down hell hole now because of that. They bought that park to close it. And six flags has done the same but with many more parks. Six flags astro world, New Orleans, Kentucky kingdom, amusment park corporations are a plague on the coaster community they buy up all the family parks then pump so much money into them that any new parks couldn't compete. They spoil the gp with new massive rides and make it impossible for small parks to survive. Why do you think we lost so many amusment parks since the 70s big chains made a climate where they couldn't survive. Then enthusiasts bash on classic rides for being rough or not fun and the rides they mocked are forever known as "garbage rides" and that is a shame.
