A few quick comments! The top 4 are very hard to separate, I think most people will have those 4 coasters but maybe with slight variations in the order. The comment about Tatsu being short is funny, because it's the longest B&M flying coaster at 52 seconds ride-time! Batman is indeed butter-smooth, which is incredible for such an old coaster - almost 30 years old now! And compare that to Viper's roughness, and Viper is only 4 years older! I think Riddler's Revenge is too far down the list, I really like it - but a decent list for sure!
My top 4 is nowhere near what most people choose. I'm not as impressed with X2 and Tatsu as many people are. The novelty wore off. X2 has a great 1st drop, the rest is average and it has the most painful moment in any MM coaster. Tatsu has no forces except the pretzel loop. A single element doesn't get a coaster in the top 5 for me. Twisted and Apocalypse are my #1/2
Gold rusher at night just has something about it that would move it up a few spots. If you haven't done gold rusher at night after dark. A mild fall night....magnificent ride
One time I rode viper and it messed up my knee and lower back for 2 weeks lmao, not friendly for tall people. idk if the remodel helped with the cramped leg room.
Thanks!...Great review!! However, for me, I still would rank X2 as #1. Twisted Colossus is a very good coaster, as well as the original Colossus. But still, X2 is like from another planet...but everyone has their own favorites, and their opinions count. You like what you like, and that's okay.
Viper deserves new trains. I dont understand why cedar fair and six flags wont invest in new vekoma trains for the classic arrow coasters. All the loopers would benefit and arrow coasters last forever. They just get removed because of the crappy restraints that make the bumpy ride into a head banger.
I'll agree with #1 - Twisted Colossus is the definitely the best (when it's not broke down). After that, complete opposite nearly. Superman Escape is my next fave. Yeah, long, slow lines for a short ride, but the 400ft trip up is the best! Viper would be at the bottom because it's like getting in a fight. Only I'm losing and losing badly. And you're right about X2. It's extreme. Extreme enough where a mid-40s dude doesn't like feeling like being grabbed by a giant around my waste and then shook back and forth for 2 minutes. The giant pile of 500 hats beneath should've been warning enough for me to avoid it. Wish I would've.
Pro tip...Apocalypse, in the back, during fright fest at night with all the fog in the area is the park's best night ride. Yes, all those conditions must be met, but if you haven't done that ride under these conditions, try it this year. It is the most insane coaster experience in the park, in my opinion. It hauls and never lets up for even a second until you hit that break run. And the station fly through is one of the best coaster elements in the park. Unpopular opinion, it ranks higher than both X2 and Tatsu for me. But i personally prefer good layouts, speed you can feel, and great pacing over coaster gimmicks. X2 and Tatsu are not even in my top 5. Viper outranks them for me too.
I hate viper for the headaches and riddler’s revenge for the uncomfortable seats. I think I’ll give them another try but for now here’s my current list: 1. X2 2. Twisted colossus 3. Wonder Woman 4. Crazanity 5. Tatsu 6. Goliath 7. Apocalypse 8. Full throttle 9. Drop of doom 10. West coast racers 11. Scream 12. Batman 13. Ninja 14. Revolution 15. Superman 16. Riddlers 17. Viper I haven’t ridden any of the slower rides
I wonder if the last few OG standing coasters like riddlers could have pipeline surf coaster trains installed. That would shoot riddler up to top 2/3 for most people.
I was terrified to ride Tatsu for the longest time. I guess it’s that lift hill and being face down but when I finally rode it I am glad I did. I wanted to ride it again! I did grey out on the pretzel loop the first time though.
How does it feel to grey out I get scared to faint cuz I almost did in viper but didn’t I heard ppl forget where they are when they wake up I just wanna know how it is
@@andrewww974 well you don’t lose consciousness fully when you grey out. For me I felt light headed and “saw stars” every thing went grey for a couple of seconds but then it’s over and you feel normal again. I remember not being able to speak or scream for those couple of seconds
@@andrewww974 it’s kinda scary because you feel out of control of your body for like 2-5 seconds but it’s over fast and it doesn’t happen to everyone or everytime

Bruh y’all brothas were spot on! At least from my perspective/opinion! Like the ranking is on point! No disagreement man X2 riding in the back as well as Twisted C made me second guess riding roller coasters then I back doored and Rhode them both again hahaha
Yeahhh X2 is more insane than Eejyanaika and that ride was after X2 and the same 4D experience except x2 is just unbelievable, i definitely had the wrong hand position on the ride and almost knocked me teeth out on that last twist
It’s closed and most likely will be closed for the rest of the year l. Same with Apocalypse. Now sure why but I imagine it’s for maintenance reasons. If the park doesn’t have the parts needed in their inventory they have to wait for it from the manufacturer and that could take a while.
Im looking at surprising my son and bringing him to LA last week in may, doing universal studios, knotts berry farm and 6 flags, then flying to ohio to do cedar point. If i aim for week days at these parks, would you recommend fast passes still,as its very expensive i wouldnt want to pay it and not need it,but also travelling from the uk,i wouldnt want to travel all that way and not get on everything.
I suggest you check when highschools are off for break during the days you plan to go. A monday school day for six flags is amazingly empty and Knotts has a policy of no teens under 18 without adult supervision during the weekday but friday. Universal im not too sure but a weekday school day would most likely be empty
I like Viper. I have never experienced any headaches or banging or anything painful. The first time I rode it was in 2004 and i don’t recall anything painful. I recently rode it and still nothing painful. Just scary hang time. I like that it’s practically a walk on.
Sorry a year late but I’ve had plat season flash pass for 2 years now and I think it’s worth it I hit 20-30 rides a day. Brought a friend with me (she had gold flash pass) and we had to wait like 20-40 min for big rides like twisted and x2. I never have to wait with platinum
Batman The Ride was my first loop roller coaster and remains one of my top favorites to this day! Now for my unpopular opinion. I find X2 to be overrated. My main problems are the raven turn like you mentioned but also the harness. Very uncomfortable. I love Tatsu and Twisted Colossus along with other roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain
@@disneyjohn8536 I can’t believe it’s become controversial to say Twisted Colossus is the best ride there, especially since all I hear is people complaining about it not dueling, but it has and that’s unfortunate
Twisted could trace all the time if 3 things occur....ride ops have to care, bags need to go in lockers (too many GP who have no consideration for how long they take to sit their ass down) and if big people actually used the tester seat at the entrance. Big people who dont fit hold up the duel, all the people with bags that have to be stored slow down the pitential duel and some ride ops dont care if it duels or not. Its such an easy fox but the park chooses not to make it an elite coaster with a guaranteed double duel every time. Force locker use as a 1st step. This ride deserves it.
I'm going to be completely honest, I've ridden three Batman clones in 2023 and the Magic Mountain one was my least favorite. It is smooth like you said but the rattle is ridiculous compared to SFSL and SFGAm.
